These monkeys feel safe and well loved by grandpa and you can tell that right away because they trust him and don't show fear , when a monkey is mistreated you can see that right away too. This kind man really loves these creatures and treats them with love and respect .

And no, macaques do not reject their babies, they are mean to them (usually due to weaning or politics like who is around......) We have 70 years of maternal deprivation studies that prove that using that very species of monkey. The reason we used them? Because their maternal infant bond is similar to humans.......After WW2 there were a lot of orphans that kept dying. They were taken care of well so they didn't understand why...that is how they found out how important a mothers love is. It literally sets the trajectory for physical and emotional development. A baby being ripped away from its mother puts their psychological development on a negative trajectory for the rest of its life.
