- The ULTIMATE tow car with a brand new Brian James Car Hauler trailer.
We needed a lighter trailer to replace our 2010 BJ Himax. Enter the 569kg CarHauler with a 4.9m long bed. This will allow us to carry around 1500kg of Subaru and tyres and get rid of the stinky Sorento for a towcar.

If you need access below the Subaru when it’s on the trailer, you could reverse the trailer onto some wheel ramps for extra room to work. Just a random thought from me.

I’m literally in the process of buying a new RS6 and also a new Brian James Trailer to tow my Cayman GT4 and then the RUclips algorithm show me this video. I think I won’t need a Defender to tow 🤣
As long as you can get a light enough trailer you'll be in good shape. What's the weight of the cayman?
@@vPerformance 1420 kg. And the new RS6 has a towing capacity of 2100 kg (with a braked trailer) So I have to fin a trailer big enough (4.5m - 5m) under 680 kg. I'm hesitating between the Brian James Car Hauler, A-Transporter or C-Transporter...
I've got the car hauler which allowed me to get a wheel rack and stay under my weight limits. I miss having a tilt bed, but the weight was too much. The down side is that the car hauler is reeeeeaallly wide and barely fits inside the warehouse!

This is badass! Hahaha. I'm still on the fence for towing if I'd rather buy a box truck and convert it to have a bed or get an alternative tow vehicle like this with a light trailer.
Would you need an enhanced licence for a truck? We need to have a separate class of drivers test for 3.5+ ton and 7.5+ ton
@@vPerformance No special license for any vehicle under 26,000lbs in most cases here. So something like a Mitsubishi Fuso, Isuzu NPR, or Hino cabover. Budget will be limited of course, so probably an older one. 14 or 16 foot bed something like that. Everyone on RUclips wants a big expensive truck and all the insurance etc. with it and a trailer just adds to that. I'd pretty much rather have it all in one package since I won't be daily driving it or anything.

@Franz Fanon Hahaha there are actually laws about that kind of thing. 🤭 I don't think I can tow one Impreza on a trailer with another Impreza legally ot safely. Not that I haven't done similar before, but it's not practical. 😉
Capable, but with legislation on weights and such. Also some are "capable" but terrible.
You cannot tow faster than 60mph in the UK. You are also not allowed in the outside lane. RS6 or not.

Is that a genuine audi towbar or aftermarket? Do you know if towbars can be fitted to any of the audi rs6 models, I'm thinking some have different diffusers etc. Pics woykd be good plz
Hey it's a genuine Audi. Only available on air suspension cars, not the DRC ones. The diffuser has a removable panel so the towbar can swing out. Diffuser part number 4G9 807 521 G, tow hitch 4G0 800 491 R

Forum nonsense as usual. The towbar is legal. Type approval refers to a European standard for towbars, not cars. Directive 94/20/EC was brought in 1994 to stop people fitting homemade rubbish to tow trailers.
