I m confirmed that this is the best/ultimate performance of Coverdale with whitesnake......no matter whatever he sung for purple, & other whitesnake songs or any other etc.. .., this is a definition of a heavy-metal ballad
This is my favorite Whitesnake album. It maintains their essential original blues-rock feel, but also stretches out in ways a lot of their other stuff doesn't. This is one my all-time favorite songs by them, too.
Indeed this album and Come an Get It are my faves from Whitesnake. Ian Paice and Jon Lord with Coverdale are magic. Bernie and Mickey are such a good fit with the Purple masters. Paice and Bonham dominated rock drumming in their time. In fact Blackmore is on record as saying that Zeppelin was the thing that tipped the scales for which direction Purple would go. The many incarnations of Purple and beyond produced this great music. I know of no other rock band that has survived this long and produced so much excellent music from all the members as a unit and individually. Helluva thing!
Takes me back 30 years as a teenager buying up all the whitesnake back catalogue! A true great blues / rock band. They'll never make them like this again.
@@pulsarlights2825 I agree, though the 'commercial' WS stuff is class, too. '1987' was a superb album, but this is DC and Whitesnake's masterpiece, imo.
A neighbour of mine let me hear an old cassette tape of this back in 1988. I was around 13 years old at the time living in my hometown in the UK (still live near the same area) and had already heard of WS because my mum & dad played the band's 1987 album a lot in the car during my early teenage years. Anyway, I've been listening to WS for about 35 years now and have all of their studio albums & live albums. DC and his band haven't released a bad album in their career ... every DC & WS release is quality and class. However, this album is their masterpiece, imo. A true epic; no filler on it whatsoever. And, yes, this song is one of the best tracks on the album. I love the unmistakeable early Free/Paul Rodgers influence. Charming stuff!
This version is better !!! Reminds me when I was seventeen in 1987 and I had to face a terrible loss...I heard this music every day! I've learned that when we are alone we are intire at the same time ...that suffering makes me stronger in the future but the scar/blemish still in the deep of my soul!!
This gospel rock song is out-standing in the rock 'n roll genre. It is unfortunate that WhiteSnake didn't compose more songs like this in a fusion of a gospel message in a contemporary music style.
I think this song has been the greatest/best (studio)performance by coverdardale...he just put his all knowledge of a vocalist solely into this one song "BLIND MAN"
I really liked Badland's 1st couple albums. So obvious listening to this album, their inspiration. Feel bad for people who only heard their later stuff. Early Whitesnake albums are TOP NOTCH!
Quante notti passate ad ascoltare questa canzone guardando il soffitto buio con gli occhi gonfi di lacrime, anche 40 anni dopo. Grazie ragazzi per questo capolavoro 🙏🤟

David was a special singer, very special. And he always get the best men around him. Legends
I remember singing this song in my head walking to work in 1982 down the streets of Sydney, brilliant.
👍
My favorite Whitesnake song of all time.. Still as profound today as it was 40 years ago.. Man we are getting old.. Lol
only just found this track at 46 yrs.. 87 was my introduction to whitesnake.. awesome track man.. and yes we are lol
@@greivus1 The 87 Whitesnake was after they sold old and turned into an MTV hair band, this is more like "Burn" and "Stormbringer" era Deep Purple

Been listening to this song for ages & never ever get tired of listening to it! David's got the best macho voice for rock songs!
One of the all-time best Whitesnake songs.

Yea, early Whitesnake was the best. Pure emotion... simple good ol fashioned blues, boys.

Is it a christian song?
@@zorroduweb6810 There's lot of open Christian Imagery in David Coverdale's songs. He has stated he prays and meditates everyday.
