I know it is on of the worst things you can say to an artist: "I liked your old work"....but damn i loved her old work, it shook my world to the core ....and now she removed the artist hand so much, that it dyed.
I’m only a new fan of her work, but as one of her neighbors on 9/11 I can understand why she felt she needed to make it. I live a little further away than her, four blocks from WTC on Fulton and Gold, but I too saw enough things to scar me forever and I don’t know that I’ll ever process it fully. I would guess that this workflow gives her both distance and control from it while dealing with the subject, something that we just didn’t have on that day.
