I just found your channel and subscribed!!!!! Absolutely love your faux foods!!!! Can you use any kind of air dry clay or does it have to be the foam kind???
@@CassieSmallwood It says I can't view the community tab from my tablet so I'll have to get on the desktop. One thing I've been dying to want to know is how to make faux rice crispy treats!
When you say "seal them", do you mean decorate them? If so, overnight should be enough to be able to handle them. If you want them completely dry first, your clay packaging should say what the drying time is. I decorated mine immediately but they're hard to handle like that.
@@CassieSmallwood do you use a spray to seal after decorating? With paint projects one artist told me that she lets her creations set/dry for 2 weeks before using a sealant on them. I think you would, to make sure your coconut flakes and sprinkles all stay put.
@@debbe9553 Oh! I don't seal mine but they're for my own use. If I were selling them I probably would put a sealer on. The amount of time you need to wait before sealing will depend on the weather where you live. If it's humid, probably a week or 2 before sealing them. 2 weeks seems like an extremely long time to me. In drier places it may take less time.
Isso ficou muito bonito e muito apetitoso. Só acho que não precisava colocar "açúcar" dos dois lados, pois escondeu a bonita massa do doce. Mas se você faz mais vídeos sobre comida fake, achei o canal certo.
One thing using corn starch you really need to mention it has corn starch in he product when you make it. I know quite a few people who are allergic to all grains ( true celiacs) I am one if I even touch anything with corn in it I break out, my throat swells, I develop memory issues. Weird right but yea it’s a sad but very bad allergy. I am looking for your Etsy help link too.
That's a good tip for people selling them. I have links to all of my Etsy stuff in the description of all of my videos. I also have posts on my blog about selling on Etsy https//www.cassiesmallwood.com
Any tips on helping the baby powder stay put better? I’ve used the mod podge glue and it doesn’t stay. Even tried using mod podge spray glue afterwards.
Maybe a little stronger glue like Tacky Glue would help or you could try a spray adhesive (not on top but under in place of the Mod Podge). Gorilla Glue makes a strong one.
Hi Sue! Modelite does dry spongy. Any of the foam clays will dry to be like foam. The Crayola Air Dry Clay dries hard, but it's also heavier than the foam clays. Here's a link to that one on Amazon if you want to check it out amzn.to/3PyU8LK
After week of letting my finished donuts sit, they are still sticky to the touch. if they touch for any lenght of time the stick and get damaged. What I'm I doing wrong?
Hi Suzanne! I've never had that happen. Are you in a humid place? That's the only thing I can think of that might cause that. But even then a week is a long time. What clay did you use?
It's the caulk, paint and Mod Podge mixture that I'm making for the frosting. I just had a little already mixed in that container so I added to it. Sorry if that was confusing.
It wasn't when I made this video but recently it's been like hot chewing gum. I think they changed the formula 😒 I've switched to BOHS foam clay from Amazon.
Mine was awful, I used it all up yesterday making donuts and won’t be buying anymore. Thanks so much for your reply. I’m going to order some of the other you suggested.
I don't use powder for glazed donuts. I show how to make the glaze for glazed donuts in the video. You can use baby powder or joint compound in place of powdered sugar if that's what you mean for the powdered sugar coated ones.
CORNSTARCH DOES too ATTRACT BUGs . The same ones as your flour etc. Other than that correction..you video is so clearly done. Your work is beatiful. Thank you for sharing.
I've never had baby powder attract bugs, but I think I've found a completely non-food option. I'll be sharing it in a future video once I'm able to try it and make sure it works.

Yes but it may not turn out the exact color. The red food coloring in the packs is a bit more orange but will work just the same.
Question please are you painting them before you let them dry?
I do paint them before they're dry a lot of times. It is easier to keep the shape if you do it after they're dry but I'm very impatient 😂
Lol ok thank you 😊
