I absolutely LOVE my Steam Deck! It’s been one of my favorite gaming related things I’ve bought in the last year. I actually just finished Persona 3 Reload on it today and it was just perfect on it.
Yeah it's amazing man! Persona 3 Reload I am planning on getting soon, also need to get Trails through Daybreak haha
You know what I play on my Steamdeck, PS1 and PS2 games. I immediately installed Emudeck and started ripping my physical PlayStation library to it.

If you do have a PS5, you can also get Chiaki for remote play. AND you can do Xbox remote play on this. So basically, a Steamdeck can get everything else in handheld!

So glad you're enjoying the Steam Deck! I defo recommend looking into emulation - you can also easily play fan translations of olxd games (and new) with the Deck - including Yokai Watch 4! :D

Deck is awesome but better to buy one when it is fresh. Deck already shows its age. Ofc it is still damn good bit of tech but i would personally wait at this point
The Steam Deck OLED is easily the best entertainment purchase I have ever made in my entire life. I bought games I’ve always wanted to play but couldn’t. Xbox exclusives and ps exclusives that came to pc are in my library. Our family has a GameCube I played as a kid. I never thought I’d play them again, but through emulation on a portable it is so convenient. I can play modded Skyrim in the middle of the forest if I wanted to. I’m not coming from pc or even console gaming. Aside from the GameCube I played as a kid I have no other computer or console. Maybe that is why I love it so much though.
That's amazing! It's incredible what can be done with it and like you say as well, you get access to those exclusives that did come to PC and the emulation! The emulation I'm looking forward to getting into down the line! Thank you for watching 😊
Modded Skyrim in the middle of the forest while taking an arrow to the knee is peak gaming. I know from experience.

So glad you've made the jump man. Steam is by far the best place to amass a solid library of games, and as you've said you aren't tied to just buying games directly on Steam - CD Keys and a host of other Steam Key websites, and you also have charity bundles (e.g Humble Bundle) that can bulk out the games you own on Steam.
Pick up a third party dock at some point if you want to get some gaming done on a bigger screen with a controller, and as an added bonus use as a charging dock for the Deck. The only caveat to this is that the Deck will struggle to output modern games at a higher resolution, but older titles/2D games and certainly a host of older JRPGs should be easy for it.

Congrats. I play mainly handheld as well. Love my Switch OLED and I wanted to play 1st 3 Trails games. Note not verified but play perfectly fine on Steam Deck. I got the 1tb OLED with 1.5tb card. Amazon has the cards on sale for prime day. I have almost a hundred games on mine.
I have to recommend the best part of Steam Deck is family sharing program. I'm a father of 5 now adults. Between all of us we have over 400 games in our library. I hope someday others like Nintendo will adopt it. Great video. Thanks.
The family share will be a great tool for me as well hopefully down the line as well! It's a game changer though! Like for example with FFXV, if I were to have started that on the playstation, it would have taken me an age to complete! I'm nearly finished it now haha!

If Steam would work out a legacy transfer system for when I die, I would be more likely to invest into the ecosystem.
My physical media collection is likely to be the biggest contibution I ever make to the financial future of my nieces (no kids, by choice).

@@chickenfilletsI can understand leaving it to kids, not necessarily spouses. Can you imagine divorce court or 2 kids fighting over it. But a kid is part of your dna, so ok.
Steam will get there, just some law or lawsuit, not neccessary steam but that involves digital libraries and death. In 10 or 20 years this will be z bigger issue. Atm digital libraries still in infancy.
Nothing’s better than when you crack yourself up 😂. My ROG Ally was easier to get at the time but essentially I couldn’t agree more about having a console quality handheld backlog machine. I’ve beat more games on my handheld than the previous two years just relying on my Xbox and TV. Great stuff as anyways!!

Hey John, so I need to get one of these? To tell the truth, I always loved to be a hand held console, part of why I do love the switch so much! But I have ton on fun playing on my computer also, and I wonder if I will miss the keybord and mouse, or maybe play only those game that I play with a controler already :)
Hey man! Honestly it's a game changer in my opinion. My understanding as well is you can connect a mouse and keyboard as well but it essentially plays like a switch as well with the console games :)
steam deck definitely looks really good, hope it will be useful for you! I'll probably stick to switch, ps5 and laptop for now since there's just too many consoles to swap between haha but maybe in the future I'll join the steam deck group

I have a game library of 50-55 games and I just got a steam deck oled 1tb and I plan on installing 4-5 games and beating them then uninstall them then install more until my entire library is beat and not buy many more games if I can resist the deals. I want to have a played through library with kids and minimal time to sit behind a desk I think the steam deck can help me achieve that.

Don’t worry about the non verified games. Nearly everything I played works. I even tried some non supported games and they worked. I’ve never had a pc because I don’t like messing around with settings. The steam deck is very console like and barely takes any effort, even for the games that do need a little extra. As for games. Just wish list anything you may want. Nearly everything is popping up on sale every few weeks. And most importantly…play dead space 2 in bed on your handheld!
