Quite remarkable, Stef. I had no idea that the retractable nib idea was as old as this pen shows. Remarkable too, that there were no leaks! Did Waterman invent this idea? Waterman are my favourite pen brand and I have a slowly growing collection. Many thanks for this one anyway, and all the others on your channel that I am gradually making my way through!
Nice to see one of these working well, a nice patina on this one as well, a bonus was that it writes so well, you would need to carry a roll of tissue around with you though, Stay safe ! Chris B.
Wow ! This is the oldest pen whose review I’ve seen, that too a Retractable pen ! As a fan of retractable fountain pens, I bought 4 ‘reasonably affordable’ Retractable pens this year - Pilot VP, Platinum Curidas, Hero 718 and Beena Magic.. Too bad not many manufacturers are making retractable pens anymore..
Yes i do occaisionally show these antique pens. The engineering on these pens are superb for the period they were made. The pens you mention are a little to modern for me. Thanks
Hey Stef, Thanks for sharing this video. I am curious how you clean these old hard rubber pens? I have several BHCR pens and haven't figured out how to clean then. I have tried toothpaste, jeweler's cloth etc but no luck. Kind regards
Nice seeing such a vintage pen looking and working good.
Indeed Gary, its nice to get them back to life so someone can enjoy for many more years. Thanks
Lovely to see such an old pen getting back to life. Thanks for the vdo Stef. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Ranjeet, thanks for watching.
That's the second beautiful italic nib you have shown this week, great fountain pen but don't fancy pricking myself filling it. 😂
Yes the Italic nibs have been popular this week. Hopefully the new owner will use an eyedropper. Thank you Ray.

Yes these safety pens are great pens once serviced. Im not quite sure if they invented this system. Good luck with your collection.
Stef, as always another great video and a beautiful Watermans Safety pen, your work is always on point! Thanks for showing it to us. Stay safe.
Glad you like it Joaquin, thank you for watching. 👍
What a grand writing instrument!
Praise be to Lewis Waterman!
That day, the insurance salesman Lewis Waterman’s pen blobbed! so the story goes.
Yes a lovely pen that will be enjoyed for many more years. Thanks
Absolutely gorgeous! Great job, Stef! 👍
Thanks so much! 😊 Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
Nice. I'd like a nib like that at some point. Pretty much all I run across here are very fine nibs.
I do get these nice nibs occaisionaly so why not buy one? Thanks

Yes and it writes lovely. No tissue will be needed, it only blobbed because of the fist fill after being fully restored. Cheers Chris.
A very buetiful 100 + years old writer. I, however, still prefer if it had a clip, otherwise this is a testament to the quality.
The caps are to small for a clip but i believe accomadation clips were available. Thanks Ahmed.

Excellent pen Steff- can you kindly let me know when was 14 S model manufactured
Thanks Sandeep. I believe the Waterman 14 eyedropper pens were from circa 1920s.
Hi Steff thanks for the reply, the one which I have is a safety pen with retractable nib, so am just curious about the year of manufacture
Hey Stef,
Thanks for sharing this video.

Every pen has to be inspected then the appropriate method is used. So i use numerous techniques. Simichrome polish will clean most pens. Good luck
