    Excellent game by Ivanchuk, also 1900s are so strong these days. Good learning for all of us 🙏

    One of the best things about Sagar's commentary is that he doesn't even pause the video to explain the position or best lines. His instruction is so clear even a noob like me can understand what is happening in the game without pausing the video. Thank you for anothe great video CBI.

      Absolutely, the commentary is good, I like that he explains just what you need to know to understand the stakes of the position and nothing more.

    Two things I love about this game:
    1) Love it when the pros play in the old rubber rollup board. They visualize patterns, they don't care about the hardware
    2) Watching a 1900 ELO make the same moves I would make. I feel like playing myself.

    I noticed, when Ivanchuk makes a sacrifice its usually for activity. He likes to create asymmetrical positions that are double edged and require precise moves to pay off.

      No but this is already the third different rule that Ivanchuk broke in this blitz tournament

    • @waterman121
      @waterman121 3 месяца назад +2

      In blitz, the convention is that you can start making your move once your opponent has made their move, regardless of clock. (Watch Hikaru play OTB to see clear examples of this).

    • @waterman121
      @waterman121 3 месяца назад +2

      Also, the move you're referencing appears to be White playing castles, which is a lengthy move to make physically. It's clear that that move is happening/locked in once Timofeev sets his King on g1, so Ivanchuk begins his next move at that moment.
