Yes. They really are that easy to use. I bought 4 speakers when they first came out, and they are heavily used by our family. Now, I have the subwoofer, and it's like having a whole new sound system. Nicely done Rocksteady. You have a fan for life!
Nice to see! I have a full Minirig 3 & subwoofer setup and I wonder how this compares. I cannot find any specs on the website about frequency response, power draw, etc. Wish I could have a sample set to test out side-by-side!
Hi Rocksteady Team, I am considering to buy this 2.1 setup. Question: will this setup provide the same bass as a JBL partybox Encore essential? Thanks!
We don't have a JBL PartyBox Encore, but here are some of the key differences based on what we see online: Rocksteady's subwoofer is a dedicated sub, meaning that the driver is for just that use, and the speakers each have a dedicated tweeter and mid-bass driver (as well as bass drums). The JBL has a single woofer and tweeter on their speaker. It is our belief that a multi-driver setup will deliver more sound clarity, at the highs, mids, and lows, meaning that we aim to deliver a distortion free sound even in the bass range. Their speaker is a 100W and offers up to 6 hours of battery life, while Rocksteady is a 30W per speaker system with about 16 hours of battery life; meaning that theirs is probably louder, but would radiate out of a single source. If you place the Rocksteady Stadium speakers around you, you will be able to enjoy a more balanced and immersive sound experience.
Yes, these are usable and recommended for outdoor use, but not when it is raining and they should not be immersed. While there is no IP rating, they are splash safe, but should be brought inside if there is steady rain.
Each speaker can be a left, right, or can play both audio channels. You can configure your listening areas however you like, and it supports a multi-room configuration. You can also connect unlimited numbers of speakers and subwoofers. All wireless, all portable.
Stereo uses two channels, not three. To create a sound stage, you do not just throw speakers all over the room! Where are you sending the left and the right channels?

@@JeffLeitman I am very much looking forward to receiving mine. I am a backer and still waiting. But understand why. However, I was wondering why a AC3 or some sort of surround sound chip was not added. Just would have been awesome to replace a soundbar AND have a portable sound system. Be it two speakers and a sub, and even better with four speakers an a sub. Multitaskers are your friends, per Alton Brown. LoL

I have 8 of the speakers and just ordered the sub for $159!!! I don’t think I’ll be disappointed.

We are working hard to update our website and other assets with specs and a frequency response chart.

@JeffLeitman thank you Jeff for the comparison! Definitely love the concept! Will be ordering via Amazon soon the 2.1 setup! Thanks!
is this usable/recommended for outdoor use? what is the waterproof rating? I'm thinking of picnics, fishing or even backing up a musician at gigs...

Could you just use multiple subwoofers? Will they pair together?
Yes, you can use multiple subwoofers. You will want to also have satellite speakers too though in order to hear the full sound spectrum.
And I always thought quadraphonic sound fell out in the 80s
