Ako mass com grad. First work ko is bpo. 12k ata sahod ko noon. Way back 2012. Sa may sta mesa manila banda. Tapos palipat lipat ng mga bpo company. Ngayon naman six figures na sahod ko as tech recruiter for a company based in US. May bonus din nakukuha kada nakaka hire. I also started learning to code. Start muna sa html tapos css and then java script. Kailangan kasi madagdagan ung skills para di maiwan.
Started my BPO journey with 18k salary. Transferred to a financial in-house company (WF) and got an offer of 30k as an agent. Now working back office for the same company, already at 50k. Guys, iba talaga pag in-house.
Pro tip: if they ask for your salary expectations, give them an 18k-22k answer. I just got hired from qualfon and I gave a 13-15k range for my salary expectation and my gross salary is 13,250 which is a little too low for me.
It is not competitive compared to my work at an international engineering design firm. Right now, I earn 70K net plus the hybrid work setup and a work-life-balance. No puyatan.
When I started in 2004 for a BPO in Makati my starting salary was P10,000+P1,250 per week for perfect attendance +20% night differential plus commisions.
I also started in a BPO pero back office. 12K starting salary ko nun. I hopped into my third company now earning 400% more working remotely away from the hassle of heavy traffic in MM. I’m lucky and I take care of my job and the company that feeds me and my family.
I used to be a call center agent, from 2007-2012, and mataas na nuon ang 18k/month. I've been working from home na since mid of 2012. Think of the expenses: house/apartment rent, water bill, electricity bill, Internet bill, foods, miscellaneous, pamasahe to and from work (pang-gas if may auto sila), foods pa sa work...ano pa ba? (unless hindi pa nakabukod 'tong mga 'to at nakatira pa rin sa parents nila? meaning nag-aambag lang sila ng maliit sa total family expenses) My God!!

Kahit papaano above minimum wage plus benefits and may government contribution ka pa.
Seryoso? 😂
Harsh reality na you will never hit 40K on majority of the BPO companies out there not unless you become management level which requires politics & unfair selection. Happy to share that Im earning as much as a TL while on a wfh setup with minimal work volume. Remote csr is key tbh.
When I started bpo they offered me 15k basic that was post pandemic, then I left after a year then the company offered me 20k basic wala pa mga night differential. You’d be surprised to know na ang daming trabaho dito sa pinas that pays more than 109k. These people should not stay in a call center. They can progress to a more in-demand talents right now (i.e. data analyst, data science, machine learning, AI, data engineering, etc). They may start around 60k and up and gain knowledge and experience. Two or three years later, they will be earning more than most of the OFWs.
It's not better but if you work as a ofw the best decision is slowly put the knowledge you learn abroad into business in the Philippines so someday pilipino will no longer need to go abroad.

My God!! Kudos!

so better leave my ofw job earning 109.000 pesos a month w/ yearly tiket? or apply as BPO earning 18k to 35 k pesos a month?
It depends on what you will learn and be beneficial for your future from your ofw job of 109k or your potential bpo salary of 18-35k
