Sounds good, how easy do you find the mc307 to use ?
I bought this bit of kit back in 2001, I'd only really used real-time record up until recently. Now I use the Track Record function as if it's a 909 or 808 drum machine. I have tried many different ways to midi sync it to Logic but I don't get the best results. It's pretty easy to use but I've had it quite a while now. I mainly use it to bash out a quick rhythm without trying to make something too polished, it can be limiting but limitations can be a good thing
this thing rules
Thanks Chris, glad you like the video, this was my first bit of kit, it certainly does rule!!
I miss my 307
I'm hanging on to mine, a lovely toy to play with! Got any other bits of kit?
@@djpaulgreenwood I still have mine too but it’s in a state of disrepair. I only got a novation circuit (original) at the moment. It’s a cool little thing for throwing together loops but it lacks a lot that the 307 has. It would be great to be able to combine the 307 and the circuit in to one machine. What else you got?
@@mrman8868 I switched to using Logic and Ableton and made a lot of beats in DAWs for a long time. Ended up picking up various bits of midi controllers like Launchpad, Launch Control XL and Akai MPD24. I also would love to combine Ableton and the midi controllers, especially the internal mixer element of the 307 via a controller. DAWs are powerful and can do tons but they lack the hands-on vibe of programming loops or TR-Rec. Something feels more authentic about it.
@@djpaulgreenwood yeah I really love the hardware side. I have made some stuff in ableton but it was years ago. A mate of mine had the 505 and we would jam it out while mixing tunes in. We played live techno sets in Waterford in Ireland on just the 307 and the 505 back around 2004/2005. Great fun. I’d love to be young again 😂 Nice video by the way, took me on a trip down memory lane.
Me and you both! Had to adjust my lifestyle since those days. I was mid-twenties 2004/2005, love every minute. I was doing a season in Ibiza 2005, day-time resident at Bar M. The 307 & 505 set sounds ace! Would love to hear some of that session! Visited Oxygen festival in 2003 & 2004 in Ireland also. Are you on Soundcloud / Mixcloud?
Dj Paul I'm looking at your Roland 307 live beat making video. That deep house beat you created is excellent and love the track!
Sorry for the late reply bro, I've clearly been neglecting my channel for some time, back to it now
Cheers for your amazing comment, glad you like the deep house beats, this drum machine still rocks even after the 15 years I've had it. Connected to the DJM900 it does certainly super effective and easy to create beats on the fly.
I'm hoping to get some new bit together soon. Thank you for your support
Classic n groovy... Some sort of fx action would kick in too
Hey, thanks for your great comment. Sorry that it has taken so long to come back to you, I've certainly been neglecting my channel somewhat, apologies!
Super buzzing that you like the beats I've created, I'm looking to get back on my music making soon. Thank you for your support. Take it easy
Hi, great job, I have a question about your mc 307, sometimes the values of volume in each part of my mc changes or the filter goes crazy 127 then 80 again 127 then 60, it happens with your mc? I have this problem whit the values when I use the mc.

Hey, thanks for your comment.
I don't have that problem in afraid, it sounds like a job for Roland, might need to take it in and have it looked at, old synths seem to adopt little issues like the one you've mentioned
i have that problem, but only when I sit it in an unsteady position haha. Maybe test some different placements out. otherwise might have top open er up and put some parchment or whatever
