I spent quite a while with Burt at a convention. He was a great guy. He talked to me about his Great Danes and later I got one. I’ve met a lot of celebrities, many very nice ones, and a few disappointing ones. Burt was a pleasure.

I'm gobsmacked. As a child of the 60s and 70s, the Batman TV series played a huge part in my afternoon life. It was a brilliant show. It still brings joy to me in adulthood because a lot of the innuendo and jokes were directed toward adults. Much like many modern-day cartoon series. I never really followed the lives of the actors but always had respect for them. Knowing that Burt and his family have rehomed over 14000 dogs AND developed a nutritional pet food fills me with joy. How frikking cool is that?
@@CoolClassics I remember watching Batman and Robin 1srt coming on channel 6 , in Philadelphia , Pa. In September of 1965 , with the Riddler the first episode. By spring of 1966 , I got tired of seeing these tightly clad buffoons doin zapowees and clabam, and puff, and bash, and clabam as they fought ThePenquin , Cat Women, Mr. Freeze, The Joker, The Egg head, The book worm, and a plethora of weird criminals. What a laugh. Too bad the Vietnam War was raging on.
Very cool 😎 ❗ I love dogs 🐕 and Burt Ward as Robin; I thought he was series than Adam West. Anyway, knowing that Burt Ward also loves dogs 🐕 makes me love ❤ him more.
I remember both Adam West and Burt Ward making an appearance at a newly opened Big Bear grocery store in Columbus, Ohio in the early to mid 80s. They were signing autographs so I stood in line for about 2 hours hoping for an autograph. I had brought with me a Batman T-shirt to be signed. Just I got within 3 people to meeting them, a voice came over the PA saying "Adam West and Burt Ward has stopped giving autographs". Loudly I made a point that I had driven over 100 miles, and stood in line over 2 hours hoping to get an autograph. Adam West heard what I said and told me to give him the shirt. He signed the T-shirt and then passed it to Burt Ward to sign. After over 35 years I still own that shirt and will always cherish it over many other autographs I have.
I remember getting an autograph on a picture way back when. Adam West was awesome but Burt Ward was stuffing his face with popcorn and even though he was signing autographs his demeanor was so dismissive. Made a huge impact on me as a kid and how I viewed him. Probably 45 years later, give or take and I remember it vividly.
I was born in 1960; never missed an episode; always tuned in the following week; same Bat time... same Bat channel. I enjoyed this video partner... took me back a ways. Thanks.
Meeting someone that knew Bruce is really cool, which happened to me when I met Fred Williams Jr, who was "Black Cobra". The only thing was, I didn't know this at the time, otherwise I would've asked him about his training with him. And meeting Burt at the Con, didn't really have time to ask him about his friendship with Bruce as you have just a couple minutes for the pic, then they whisk you away!
I really appreciate the genuine way you have narrating these 'stories'. Too many 'youtubers' are just spewing out facts, but it seems you are invested or have a great interest in your subjects and this comes across to me and, I'm sure, many of your other viewers. I also appreciate the amount of research you must do for each of these, Thank you. You are a cut above the rest.
@@paulsawtell3991 That would funny, wouldn't it? Well then, as U2 sings, 'even better than the real thing...", In light of this, maybe you ought to try it too for your own channel, unless you're waiting for the ASI (artificial social intelligence). Oh don't mind me, I'm just trying to be funny back.
I met Burt a couple of years ago, he was the parade Grand Marshall in the hometown we share. He drove is personal batmobile. The parade ended at a small festival where he parked and signed 8X10 glossy photos and was happy to interact with the people. He and his wife almost seemed to still be in puppy love with each other. Very happy to see that. A funny side note, after the event he just drove his batmobile home.
I think I passed him in So.Cal in the IE... at a store and I just politely nodded... found out he likes Domino's pizza from a friend and confirmed it was indeed Burt Ward I passed. Also, Gentle Giants dog food is pretty great (by my dogs standards)
This was the most enjoyable biographical video I have ever seen! The facts you chose to present about Burt surprised and delighted me. I happen to be one of those "college kids" who enjoyed "Batman" during its initial TV run. I attended an exclusive science and engineering college, and the rec room was filled with science and engineering students on "Batman" nights. Thanks for filling us in on the delightful accomplishments of Burt Ward! It is most gratifying to know Burt is still alive and doing well!
I met Burt about 20 years ago at a board of supervisors meeting regarding animal services and our various rescue groups. Nice guy, friendly, did not have an ego, just seemed like one of us.
Burt’s life has really ended up being a hero to so many; some of the most vulnerable creatures owe their lives to his organization. Bravo, masterful performance!
I loved the series as a kid! I became a veterinarian, so I’m glad to hear that Burt and his wife have developed a food for giant breeds. Great video, I learned a lot from it. Thank you!
Thanks for including that bit at the end about his dog food. I have a big baby cane corso named Duke and if I could extend his life to 20 years with better food it would be an incredible blessing!
Really enjoyed this. I grew up in the 60's and every week the neighbourhood "gang" would POW and BLAM our way to somebodies house to watch the show. For my 12th Birthday, my Father took us all to the brand new Richmond Review Theatre to see the the Batman movie, still one of my all time favourites. BTW I highly recommend watching "Return to the Bat Cave" with Adam West (still my favourite Batman) and Burt Ward recounting tales from the sries. And of course there are shenanigans!
So glad to hear that Burt Ward is doing well. Too many stories end sadly. I also appreciate that he and his family have a successful and important business. When we lost our golden retriever, I learned that their life expectancy had also declined in recent years. Even though they aren't considered a "giant" breed, maybe the research Burt and his company are doing will help all the larger breeds 🐶 ❤️
I am immensely glad to hear about Burt Ward. I am definitely going to get some of the dog food that he and his family have on the market, as I have a pitbull. Albeit she is a puppy now, I want to see if they have a puppy food for large breed dogs. As Robin, Burt was/is the greatest. I never knew that he studied Taekwondo. Fabulous. Strange fact, I met Bruce Lee many years ago. Another fabulous talent gone way too soon. I would really love to meet Burt Ward one day. Keep making videos like this one and I'll keep watching.
Batman came on on a Saturday evening in the U.K., just after our dinner time (though we called it 'tea time'). That meant the entire family watched it together. I always preferred Robin to Batman, maybe because like myself in my family he was the younger one. Every child of my age had a Batcar and I hadn’t even heard of George Barris, or had any understanding of his genius. Of course the adult innuendo flew right over this 6-8 years old's head. At that time children wore duffle coats, if you didn’t put it on and just fastened it around your neck with the hood up you had an instant Bat-cape.
This episode was wonderful. Once again I am very happy to learn the backstory of the actors in the television shows that I grew up with. It was in syndication when I saw it as I was born in 1967 but none the less it was still one of my favorites. I am happy that Burt Ward Found Love and a happy purpose in life. I myself have Senior Dogs. My boxer is 13 her name is Baby and I have a dachshund pug mix his name is Buster. Buster is the most stubborn dog as the breeder was just throwing things together pugs and dachshunds are one of the hardest headed dogs there are hahaha. I love them both dearly and I'm going to look into the food that has been formulated. Thanks again, you are great and I really appreciate all the work and effort you put into these episodes
Burt Ward makes a great Robin back in the day. He is an amazing actor. He puts his heart and his soul into that character. May God bless Burt Ward with great health, healing, peace, the joy of laughter, and a load of birthdays to come. In Jesus name. Amen. Thank you for posting the video here. Guy.
This was so nice to watch. I always had a crush on Robin. I was so surprised to hear he did all of his own stunts. The fact that he's now helping dogs, makes me like him that much more. Thank you for sharing this information.
There's no way he did all his own stunts. In fight scenes, in certain shots you can see the stunt double. His hair always flew all over the place during the fights. Burt's hair didn't move. lol
@@NYRNGR1 Right. We used to call the stunt double "banana nose", and used to watch closely for his appearance during fight scenes. Definitely didn't do ALL of his own stunts.
Thank you for this vlog. I was born in 52 and grew up with comics. I truly loved Batman and Robin. Glad to hear they had a fantastic time travelling the country. Very nice ending.
I was only 4 years old when Batman first aired, but I remember always wanting to stay up to watch it. The only way my mother would let me was if I went to bed and took a nap an hour before the show and she would come to my room just before it started to wake me. I don't know the time of evening it was, but I remember making no fuss about it cause it was worth it to me to be allowed to be up after regular bedtime to watch my favorite show. I also remember playing 'Batman' with my friends and we'd tie bath towels around our necks for capes and sing out the theme tune as we were running around the house . . . . . thanks for the upload, you brought back some locked away memories.
Burt was a natural as Robin! Just perfect for the role! I also loved Yvonne Craig as Batgirl and was able to meet her and her sister at a convention in Niles, OH several years before she died. What a nice time! She was still beautiful!
We ran into Burt Ward and his wife in a vintage shop in Palm Springs. He is very large now. He was very laid back and friendly when a few people recognized him.
So, in 2013 Adam and Burt came to Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, Wa. It's was a HUGE deal. They had a Q&A the night before the con and showed the "Batman' movie on the BIG screen..that was awesome! Of course they did autographs and pics. I bought a Batman Tee just for the pic with both of them. What a great couple of guys. I mentioned the "Gentle Giant" company when I got my pic with them and actually got a chuckle from BOTH of them!
What a treat to have found your channel! I was born in 1967 and Batman & Robin in syndication were a big part of my childhood. Your video was well crafted and researched, but your humble and personable narration made it feel like it was put out by a sincere fan. Thank you for such a neat video!
Good for Burt ! I'm glad to hear what he's done to help with nutrition and large dogs, helping them to live longer lives. I'm a cat person myself. I have 3 indoor/outdoor cats. I was told that lifestyle would cut down their lifespan, But I've been careful about their food and nutrition The oldest is over 20 and the others over 10, healthy and happy. Nutrition makes a huge difference in a pet's lifespan.
As a Brit I can say the 60s Batman and Robin series were a part of my youth. The shows struck the right balance between humour and style, nevery taking themselves too seriously. The nod to comic book art was inspired. Good, too, to know that Burt is involved in animal welfare - he'll get my vote any day.

Nice post. I'm 55 and I remember sitting in front of the boob tube and watching those classic Batman & Robin episodes as a little kid. Fun times, everything wasn't so doom & gloom like it appears to be today.
Thank you for this wonderful video. The nostalgia is real! I was a huge fan of Batman and Robin when I was growing up. I knew the names of the actors and that they were playing characters for TV, but at the same time I thought they really were those heroes. I loved them both. However, I used to tell my Mom that when I grew up I was going to marry Adam West. My Uncle called once pretending to be Adam West and I swore for years that I had talked to the real Batman. Back then as a little girl of 6 years of age, I believed it all. lol
watched this show as a kid. batman with Micheal Keaton came out my freshman year of college and started to redefine a Robinless batman as this trend took over and has defined the character today with what, one exception. never imagined how interesting the life of Burt Ward really was. Great job putting this together!
In the auditions, they made the right choices. Adam West has a more serious tone to him over Lyle Wagoner, which is more like Batman who can be serious and brooding. Burt Ward also had a better audition in your demo reels than the other actor for the part, for his enthusiasm and quite the performance fighter. Awesome video, I watched it to the end! Glad to see Burt had a great life overall ( a few bumps here and there)! Here's to TV's first Robin... BAM! ZAP!
Batman wasn't serious and brooding in the 60s. He became serious and brooding in the 80s, but even then, Robin became so before him. Seriously, just read New Teen Titans some time. Literally all the Titans think Batman is a toxic if not outright abusive influence on their leader. And that's pre-Crisis! Post-Crisis, Batman gets to join in on the depression. Batman was more serious in the early years, 30s and 40s. But that was ended because of Fredric Wertham.
@Peter Angles Are you seriously trying to tell us that a series featuring things labeled BATROSCOPE and DIVERSIONARY BATPHONE LINES would have been better served by Waggoner? 😂 Being a 'better actor' doesn't mean he's going to be better for every role.
Glad I watched this. My wife and I rescue large breed dogs, mainly German Shepherd dogs. One thing GSD’s are prone to is allergies in foods. Believe it or not this is the first time hearing of this AND I’m a huge Classic Batman fan! Looking into this frog food now. Thanks!
Thanks for the update on his life. This is great news about the dogs. It is amazing how many pets have been lost to poor Nutrition in foods that are supposed to be healthy for them.
Yeah, I'm so happy that he's trying to make this issue better, when I look at dog foods I often wonder what's even in them and some have barely any meat too and probably the worst quality there is, just to make more money. Sure there are good or decent brands if you look but lot of the pet food industry honestly almost feels like a scam, unfortunately many probably have no idea what they even feed their best friend trusting these companies.
I was in 2nd grade when Batman came out and I loved it and Green Hornet too. And the cars! From the Munsters Koach to the Monkee Mobile GTO. No real weapons in Batman, so innocent, punches were covered by a POW! ZOK! BOFF! or some such silly graphic. But it still seemed like heroic feats to a 6 year old that didn't know the camera was turned sideways for wall climbing and window cameos. The 60's were a great time for a kid to watch television! I've seen Adam West in cartoon form on Family Guy right up until his passing and he is so missed. I never knew much about Burt Ward so thank you for all the stories and gosh, it's wonderful that he's found lasting love and happy family and is helping improve the lives of animals.
I recall vividly, the night Batman premiered on TV. There was nothing else like it. As a kid, it was a show me and my friends never missed. And I recall Julie Newmar. Even as an 11 year old, I knew she was not number.
Great video, very informative. I was born in 71 so I grew up in the age of Batman and Superman reruns. It’s great to see Burt happy still. It’d be an understatement to say I was a Batman fan.
Now that was awesome. I had no idea what the character Robin ended up doing or anything about the rest of his life. I'm so glad to see it turned out well. I have to admit, I used to think he looked pretty silly in those tights even when I was only five to nine years old but now that I'm older I can appreciate what he had to go through. Thanks for the well produced video. 👍
In 2016, I was a guest at LA Comic Con moderating the Darkwing Duck panel. I sat with some of the voice actors, helping at their signing table, and around the corner was Adam West and Burt Ward. My wife was interested in going over to see them, but got shy and we never did. Something like a year later when Adam West died, we both kicked ourselves for not doing it.
I had no idea about Bert's life and really good to see he's come into a great life. Me being a big fan of doggies, I love the fact that he has saved so many. Never knew he was a martial artist to begin with. I studied Bruce Lee's techniques at growing up. Really cool to see that he was into the art and how he came about being Robin. Thank you for this video.
This was an amazing video! You put a ton of time and work into making this and it shows on many levels! Thank you for taking us into the human side of Burt Ward's life! I loved this!
I was so pleased when the entirety of the show was released as a DVD box set - I adored it as a teenager and we all loved the knowing humour. The great thing about the character of Batman is it is open to multiple different interpretations by filmmakers.
@@patrickregan3302 Indeed! The guest stars in the tv show made it even better. I liked the new movie The Batman, but the gal playing Catwoman just can't match Julie Newmar in my humble.
Being 65 I grew up with these shows. I recall when Batman premiered. For weeks before the 1st show all the kids in 5th grade (?) talked endlessly about watching it! The next day we all agreed- Batman was the best!
“Holy happy ending, Batman!!” This was a great video! Burt Ward is still one of those Hollywood icons who you always rooted for. Glad to see he’s doing well outside that cesspool.
Wow!! Burt Ward and his wife should be commended by the dog community for their devotion, research and development of the dog food and rescuing large dog breeds. This was a very pleasant revelation on a very great video on Mr. Ward. Mr. Cool Classics, you have done it again!! Excellent job as usual 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽!!
@CoolClassics You are so great. Your channel popped into my algorithm on Sunday. I have been hooked for the last 4 days. I love the old TV shows and actors. I guess as a boomer, I am hanging on to my childhood. These shows bring back the best in television and a kinder world for me. Thank you so much!!
I got to work with Burt on a children’s show he was producing and directing in the mid-80’s. He was a nice guy and fun to work with. He told a few stories about his time working on Batman.
Burt Ward got a brief Cameo recently in the CW DC crossover event,Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One. He says his classic line as the world ends while wearing red and green clothes as a nod to who he is.
I remember one Saturday morning, 1967, when I was seven my dad told me to get dressed, he wanted me to go into town with him. Saturday morning was cartoon day - what was he thinking? Anyway, I got dressed and climbed into our car for the forty minute drive into town. When we got near the exit I could see traffic was backed up for what seemed like a million miles. Finally we made it into the shopping center and there surrounded by thousands of other kids were Batman (West) & Robin (Ward) and the batmobile. I stood in line for two hours to get an autographed photo and a chance to meet my heroes. Best day ever! Thanks dad.
I've been binge watching your vids since I got home from work. I've had HUGE smiles across my face reliving these wonderful decades. What a great story. Glad to hear there's happiness. Life has crazy ups and downs. Maybe his dog food will extend the life of my best friend! Great video.
Many years ago Burt was being interviewed by Michael Jackson (KABC) and he mentioned that at one time he was considered the world's fastest reader by Evelyn Wood.
Yes, I found that out too. I think he even entered and won a couple contests. I discovered that after I was too far in the edit, so I did not dig up all the facts. There are so many cool things to learn about some of these people. 🙂
What a gem. I’ve been a Bruce Lee fan for decades and knew he was Kato but never heard about these connections to Burt and Batman. I was hoping he went to Burt’s audition!!! Hollywood life is hard on marriages. I’m glad Burt found peace.
The channel name is spot on, because this video was really cool. The narration is perfect, the guy's voice and inflections make for entertaining and easy listening. There's not many class acts on YT, but this is definitely one of them. Thanks for the memories of one of my favorite childhood TV shows.
Batman and Robin was prime time TV in Australia. I was too young to understand the satire then but it really is one of the great satirical sitcoms. The one liners in every show were just outstanding. A true classic to this day many will not understand.
Bruce playing a joke on Burt the first time they met on set was hilarious especially the fact they probably knew each others martial arts background. Adam West and the crew definitely had a good laugh at that joke at Burt's expense.
That type of joking around is long gone anymore. Practical jokes today have come to the point of not just laughter at some ones expense but Physical and Emotional harm.
The Munsters was my favorite show until Batman hit the screen! I wish I still had the trading cards, I collected the entire set twice over! It's really nice to see how Burt Ward's life turned out all these decades later. Cool video, thanks.
Really informative CC Burt was a very driven guy. When you see the auditions for Robin, he was so sure of himself and confident. He deserved the role. He was made for it. So glad he has devoted his later life to dogs so rewarding. Great video.
Absolutely great video! You were suggested, I subscribed, and fixed notifications to all. The second near the end about Burt's family was truly inspiring. I was so happy that he was brought in when the FlashVerse on CW did the multiverse destruction episodes. It was awesome seeing Burt. Thank you for the walk down memory lane, and the information after the lights went out on Batman.

Same, born in '77 but watched Batman religiously in the 80's along with all the other shows that were reruns. Still get happy when I see them online. Lots of good stuff out there.
They definitely casted the right duo. As usual you knocked one out of the park! I checked out your other channel yesterday. The one on Eva Gabor. That was awesome! @@CoolClassics The 60s Batman series was the worst take on Bob Kane's creation ever made. The 40s serials were good but it was Christian Bale that made Bob Kane's vigilante character come to life..And no Robin. The Robin character hasn't been in the latest films either. Ben Affleck about sunk the whole character. There's a new one coming out soon. But it will fail because instead of setting the character in a future world, they need to set it in the 1940s and lose Robin.
I must say that I'm truly on the same page with you and your take on B. Ward. Despite the trials and tribulations that a life inevitably brings, Its as much or more what you leave behind than what you get out of it.
Really well made video. I was impressed. Also how you were the narrator. I grew up watching the Batman TV series. So much I didn’t know about Burt until now. So glad he ended up happy and helping out animals too! Those big dogs really needed the help. What a great story! Thanks for this!
4-25-22 Holy exposé! Burt Ward has always been my favorite, live action version of Richard Grayson. A close second is Chris O'Donnell. To me Burt Ward is to Grayson/Robin, what Christopher Reeve is to Clark Kent/Superman. As a child I always thought of my Super Powers Robin action figure, as a cartoon inspired version of the Ward Robin. Its because of Ward's portrayal of Grayson, combined with the art work of José Luis García-López that Grayson is my favorite Robin. Thank you for making the video.
The show had discovered that his package was showing more then they wanted so they tried to get him to take some kind of salt peter and when he refused, they tried duct tape. He threatened to quit so from there, he was filmed primarily from the waist up. From his book and interview.
I have very fond memories of watching Batman with my father. He would laugh and laugh at jokes which I didn't get until many years later. Thank you so much for this lovely reminisce.
Wow!!! This video is great! The auditions are amazing to watch! Thank you for putting this together! For the guy who gave it his all, it's sad he was the least paid character.
We always heard some news about Adam West but nothing about Burt Ward. With all that he went through, including his loss of his buddy Bruce Lee, to see he finally found love and a purpose had me sitting at this computer cheering! Thank you for posting all of this and dang, it sure brought back a ton of memories!
I'm the same age as Burt, i.e. 76 & watched "Batman" from its first show in Jan. 1966! As I was in NYC, that show premiered in the middle of the great "Transit Strike", with no trains or buses running, making it nearly impossible to get home from work, in time to see it! I just made it, but was disappointed to see its "campy" style, but learned to like it! I'm glad to hear that Burt's life has stabilized & wish him well!
I’ve met both Burt Ward and Adam West, both of them are class acts and really care about their fans. RIP Adam

I never really followed the lives of the actors but always had respect for them. Knowing that Burt and his family have rehomed over 14000 dogs AND developed a nutritional pet food fills me with joy. How frikking cool is that?
It's very Cool :)
"holy hairy ballsack, Batman!!"
"Precisely, Robin!!"
Great show great looking women should have been on longer than 3, years
@@CoolClassics I remember watching Batman and Robin 1srt coming on channel 6 , in Philadelphia , Pa.
That is awesome
I remember getting an autograph on a picture way back when. Adam West was awesome but Burt Ward was stuffing his face with popcorn and even though he was signing autographs his demeanor was so dismissive. Made a huge impact on me as a kid and how I viewed him. Probably 45 years later, give or take and I remember it vividly.
I only would have done that for Cat Women .
Good for you, I still have my picture of Batman from the 60s
@@SuperDirtyred1 I got an autographed 8x10 from Eartha Kitt in the 90's after I drove her to her hotel.
Her publicist sent it in the mail.
I was born in 1960; never missed an episode; always tuned in the following week; same Bat time... same Bat channel. I enjoyed this video partner... took me back a ways. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Same here Varmint loved that show!
Me too! I loved Batman and Robin. Bruce Lee too. Even the story about Brandon Lee was great! I loved the Green Hornet and Robin was my favorite!
Having Bruce Lee, as a friend, would have been the BEST thing EVER! Burt was SO lucky, there!
Seriously! That was just amazing and blew my mind!
@@barryallenflash1 point taken, but you mean Fred Williamson.. : )
Yeah, that is pretty awesome.
I remember when Batman first Premier believe 1966 time passes fast. Many us fans known Burt Ward was no contest for Bruce Lee back in 1966.
Woah! Very Cool!
Wow, thank you!
So glad that you enjoyed it :)
I know. It was really well done!
I met Burt about 20 years ago at a board of supervisors meeting regarding animal services and our various rescue groups.
Nice guy, friendly, did not have an ego, just seemed like one of us.
Very Cool!
Kudos to Burt and family for helping those dogs. That makes him a real hero.
We adopted 2 dogs from the pound over Christmas 2021 and we feed them the brand of dog food that is made by Burt's company.
Love my Goldens!! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰😍😍🥰😍🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Np
I am immensely glad to hear about Burt Ward. I am definitely going to get some of the dog food that he and his family have on the market, as I have a pitbull. Albeit she is a puppy now, I want to see if they have a puppy food for large breed dogs. As Robin, Burt was/is the greatest. I never knew that he studied Taekwondo. Fabulous. Strange fact, I met Bruce Lee many years ago. Another fabulous talent gone way too soon. I would really love to meet Burt Ward one day. Keep making videos like this one and I'll keep watching.
It would be News if you Found Someone Who Never Gets Naked In A Hotel.
Being your own stuntman has to stink to high heaven
He and his family are such great humanitarians!
There's no way he did all his own stunts. In fight scenes, in certain shots you can see the stunt double. His hair always flew all over the place during the fights. Burt's hair didn't move. lol
Who didn't? TBH, when you're dealing with a teenage or adult Robin, sex appeal is required.
Wow, what a really informative, creative, and enjoyable overview of Robin.
This was a fantastic presentation. Thoroughly loved this.
Burt was a natural as Robin! Just perfect for the role! I also loved Yvonne Craig as Batgirl and was able to meet her and her sister at a convention in Niles, OH several years before she died. What a nice time! She was still beautiful!
Yes!
Thank you for sharing your memories. It’s interesting for me, at least, seeing things through someone else’s eyes or perception.
Be safe.
I just woke up at 4:30am and put the youtube on ,boy is this guys voice soothing for some reason
What a treat to have found your channel! I was born in 1967 and Batman & Robin in syndication were a big part of my childhood. Your video was well crafted and researched, but your humble and personable narration made it feel like it was put out by a sincere fan. Thank you for such a neat video!
Thank You! It is true. I only make videos on people or characters that I like 😁
I feel a kinship with your comment (born in 1966). I have fond memories of my brother and I watching every episode.
You are definitely taking good care of them 😁
Like so many kids in the 60’s, I lived for this show. And had a mad crush on Batgirl.
As a Brit I can say the 60s Batman and Robin series were a part of my youth. The shows struck the right balance between humour and style, nevery taking themselves too seriously. The nod to comic book art was inspired. Good, too, to know that Burt is involved in animal welfare - he'll get my vote any day.
as an American I can say I + my daughter really love 'The Avengers' with John Steed and Mrs Peel
similar camp humor
Wow...bam ...pow... I'm born 1974 , Ireland......loved this stuff!!

I also like the fact you obviously have a passion for the obscure facts that make such a good story.

Cool, thanks!
Yeah I like the freaky facts and always include anything that stands out to me. :)
BAM! ZAP!
I agree! Best choices were made.
Thank You :)
@Peter Angles “ better” I loved Adam.
@Peter Angles Are you seriously trying to tell us that a series featuring things labeled BATROSCOPE and DIVERSIONARY BATPHONE LINES would have been better served by Waggoner? 😂 Being a 'better actor' doesn't mean he's going to be better for every role.
Don't forget !POW!
You’re right. You never see the punches which are covered by graphics. Nice.
The window cameos were one of the more interesting scenes since at the time nobody knew who would be opening the window.👍
Truth Indeed
Awesome! I had the honor of sitting in one of the "Batmobiles" when attending FanExpoCanada in Toronto back in 2016. What a thrill!
Very Cool!
what an awesome story. Batman was such a great show. I looked forward to it each time it came on. Man I miss those days.
I recall vividly, the night Batman premiered on TV. There was nothing else like it. As a kid, it was a show me and my friends never missed. And I recall Julie Newmar. Even as an 11 year old, I knew she was not number.
What a wonderful man helping all those dogs.
God bless Burt and his family.
Great to see thanks. I saw Ceasar Romero at the Academy awards in 1984. What a treat.
Great video, very informative. I was born in 71 so I grew up in the age of Batman and Superman reruns. It’s great to see Burt happy still. It’d be an understatement to say I was a Batman fan.
I was also born in 71 :)
Being a child of the 60s and a Batman fan at the time, i find this very informative and fascinating. Thank you.
I love that Burt & his wife are saving and extending the lives of animals. Great video!
That is a shame that she missed out. But at least you seen them both in the same event. :)
Considering he sleazed around with more women than Gene Simmons, I wouldn't necessarily call it a missed opportunity!
Yes, I like hearing good things, there is to many that end in heartbreak.
Lies again? Bench Warmer Jules Rimet
This was an amazing video! You put a ton of time and work into making this and it shows on many levels! Thank you for taking us into the human side of Burt Ward's life! I loved this!
Wow, thank you!
So glad you noticed all the little things that added up!
These long full bios take me 2 to 4 weeks sometimes :)
“Holy happy ending, Batman!!”
This was a great video! Burt Ward is still one of those Hollywood icons who you always rooted for. Glad to see he’s doing well outside that cesspool.
Totally!
They cast Batman correctly. Adam was in a league of his own.
Yes no one has been a better Batman since and never will be Adam West was e real Batman and there was only one
You are so kind
@CoolClassics You are so great. Your channel popped into my algorithm on Sunday. I have been hooked for the last 4 days. I love the old TV shows and actors. I guess as a boomer, I am hanging on to my childhood. These shows bring back the best in television and a kinder world for me. Thank you so much!!
This made my day when it popped up I'm so glad to see Burt had such a happy and productive life
I got to work with Burt on a children’s show he was producing and directing in the mid-80’s. He was a nice guy and fun to work with. He told a few stories about his time working on Batman.
Very Cool!
Burt Ward got a brief Cameo recently in the CW DC crossover event,Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part One. He says his classic line as the world ends while wearing red and green clothes as a nod to who he is.
That was fun. "Holy Crimson Skies of Death!" He was also walking a dog in that scene.
Thanks dad.
Very Cool!! Also thank you for sharing that! 😁
I've been binge watching your vids since I got home from work. I've had HUGE smiles across my face reliving these wonderful decades. It's been like....you and me....just sittin' here a talkin' and a watchin'.....you delve so deeply into their professional and personal lives without being obnoxious or disrespectful about it! You're my kinda folk!!!
What a great story. Glad to hear there's happiness. Life has crazy ups and downs. Maybe his dog food will extend the life of my best friend! Great video.
Always great to hear when a beloved celebrity has a good happy life after their entertainment career. Very glad to hear he's had a great life! 👍
Man those were the great good Ole days ? Thank you for bringing back Batman an robin my child hood was so great . your podcasts are just awesome.
Thank You, Les :)
The channel name is spot on, because this video was really cool. The narration is perfect, the guy's voice and inflections make for entertaining and easy listening. There's not many class acts on YT, but this is definitely one of them. Thanks for the memories of one of my favorite childhood TV shows.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that!
Burt Ward and his wife are awesome. I never knew about the Gentle Giants rescue, what a great couple of humans.
The Munsters was my favorite show until Batman hit the screen! I wish I still had the trading cards, I collected the entire set twice over! It's really nice to see how Burt Ward's life turned out all these decades later. Cool video, thanks.
Really informative CC
Burt was a very driven guy. When you see the auditions for Robin, he was so sure of himself and confident. He deserved the role. He was made for it. So glad he has devoted his later life to dogs
so rewarding.
Welcome aboard! I really appreciate the support and the Cool comment. Clicking notifications is a huge positive for a channel! It lets the algorithm know that you are putting out quality content. That also means a Lot to me! Thank You :)
@@CoolClassics thank you for the explanation, but I really enjoyed your report and I want to be notified of all of your videos when they are posted. You highly impressed me with your reporting style. According to the opening of your video, you've been doing YT for a while, and had to take a break. I did not know the reward that you will get. I am one viewer, but I will probably be a regular viewer, because you impressed me. That's why I chose all notifications. I was greedy, kidding. :)
And I still love the old 60s batman and robin, the best 1 of all of them.
I’m so happy to see Burts success! By that I mean, that he would find love and be such a wonderful force in helping these animals. So many stories are tragic. I’m so happy his is not. May we all strive to give more than we take.
Man, for a rookie actor ,he did very good job.He did meet Bruce Lee ,they neighbor, but I didn't if they spare.I know study martial arts 🎭.
I glad we know, his career in acting career.
I remember when Batman came out on TV. Wonderful to hear that Burt is running an organization that saves dogs.
I'm so glad that Burt is doing well! He always came across as a nice, affable guy, and the story about Bruce Lee pretending to be mad at him is hilarious!
Who would have thought that Lyle Waggoner auditioned for Batman? LoL
😂
I could see Lyle Waggoner as Batman. The ones that played Batman in the movies after Adam West were all imposters !
I was a little black teenage kid in the 70s watching Batman & Robin. Very inspiring and fun to watch.👍🙂.
Keep enjoying life! 😁👍
Lovely video, thank you very much, big fan of both of them. I was really sad to learn of Adam's passing, and you made my day with Burt's story. Thanks, cheers from Argentina!
What a great video! I've always heard about Adam West but never anything on Burt. This was fascinating. I love seeing auditions as well. I'm floored to hear Lyle Waggoner was up for the part of Batman! Although I've always liked him Adam just set a better tone. Thanks so much for this content!
I liked how you ended the video! Thanks! I was 7 years old when Batman debuted. I watched as much television as I could in the 60s. They would also play the 50s shows as well, so I would watch The Adventures of Superman and I Love Lucy, etc... I have great memories still.
Totally enjoyed this video. I was born in 1977 so these shows were still being aired in the 80s where I lived and they were (in my mind) really cool TV shows.
Thank you for making this video.
I encourage everyone to check it out. I have to do some research l don't remember her on any Batman movies or TV shows. Glad you're back! Thank you for taking the time to do what you do. Love going back to the good old days 😌
Awesome! Thank you!
Yeah the other channel is going to be companion videos for these biographies. The stuff that didn't fit, or discoveries that I make, after the fact.
I really appreciate the positive feedback and support! 😀
Definitely the best video I have listened to involving how it was in the sixties with TV. Thanks for trip down memory lane.
Glad you enjoyed it
Really well made video. I was impressed. Also how you were the narrator. I grew up watching the Batman TV series. So much I didn’t know about Burt until now. So glad he ended up happy and helping out animals too! Those big dogs really needed the help. What a great story! Thanks for this!
Cool, thanks!

Holy exposé!
IMO Burt was a Great Robin!
Also, you have a Cool user name! 😎
@@CoolClassics Thank you sir.
Holy birthday cake!
AW is to Batman what Reeves is Superman.
This story was awesome. Fun, titillating (for my wife who appreciates…) and with a happy ending for our over-sized fur babies. Great job!!!
Wow!!! This video is great! The auditions are amazing to watch! Thank you for putting this together! For the guy who gave it his all, it's sad he was the least paid character.
Heyyyy Man! Have missed your videos...Hope you've been OK
Great to see you back 🦘🦘🦘
We always heard some news about Adam West but nothing about Burt Ward. With all that he went through, including his loss of his buddy Bruce Lee, to see he finally found love and a purpose had me sitting at this computer cheering! Thank you for posting all of this and dang, it sure brought back a ton of memories!
Loved watching Batman as a kid in the 70's. The colorful costumes, it was pretty well done as a series.
Really fascinating episode! So great that Burt helped big dogs! And so great to hear his friendship with Adam West lasted a long time.
This one was brilliant! Thanks again for a great treat.
I'm the same age as Burt, i.e. 76 & watched "Batman" from its first show in Jan. 1966!
As I was in NYC, that show premiered in the middle of the great "Transit Strike", with
no trains or buses running, making it nearly impossible to get home from work, in
time to see it! I just made it, but was disappointed to see its "campy" style, but
learned to like it! I'm glad to hear that Burt's life has stabilized & wish him well!
