Hi Dan, Sincere thanks for answering my request. I've spent 30years trying to emulate this lick, never getting close. After the effort you have gone to , I owe it to you to finally nail it. You've done a brilliant job. You're the man!
Hey Steve! Thanks for the idea for the video! I hope you're happy with what I came up with even with the backing track ending sooner than I'd like but I tried my best anyway. Hope you have fun getting it down!
thank you for all the hard work you put into this lick im a huge Gary fan and because of his blistering speed I could never figure it out it inspires me every day to give it 30 mins of "Gary time" into my practice
Thanks Dan! Had given up on this challenge long time ago. I'm back at it because you're making it clear and I guess I have better skills than before. Appreciate it. Keep up the excellent work Dan.
Thanks dude. I’m planning on doing more GM videos in general that have this stuff going on. Usually you can pick up things he does in a solo context. I guess I was mainly focused on the notes here then talking about how he applies things but you’ll see him apply similar concepts in various solos
Dan I really think ur a great guitarist !!! I would love to see u play John Sykes's solo on Got to give it up from Lizzy live 1983 is a thing of beauty!!! It would make this lifelong fan very happy m8! Not to break it down just to see it played
Brilliant again! I love the way you break it down to the last little nuances. Hey Dan, do you have any tips how to speed up the hammer-on/pull-off licks? Gary did it so effortlessly and so you do. Sounds like a power drill! :D Feels like when I try to do it, my hand ends up cramping up.
Hey there. Thanks! To be honest with these fast pentatonic things, I found that I would practise trills maybe and see how long you can go (with clarity and conviction) for going up and down the neck, but be sure to stop if you're in pain! Also cramping is usually a sign of tension or could be your hand position. I'd pick out certain licks (like this one) and just go for hours at it until I felt like I could start to get it down nicely, which can bore a lot of people but I strangely enjoy it. It might just be that I've spent so much time on it, not sure really as I have never had a specific routine.

WOW Amazing well done!
Dan you're the guy to go to for anything Gary Moore. There is really no one else who nails Gary's style and licks the way you do.
Love the comment he makes "this is where it gets more difficult" lol. Really wish I could play these licks! Love Gary!

How many hours a day did you practice to get that lick up to speed like that? Amazing 👍👍
Too many when I was younger, however these days my hand feels horrible if I go for too long in a day.
Download song surgeon it's a free software that you can slow the audio down while keeping the song in key.

Hi Dan, I love your guitar tone. Can you please tell us your recording equipment? Thanks!
I'm using a Yamaha THR 10x amp straight into my PC, on the Brown II sound with some fairly decent gain here but not too much. Thanks man.
Hi Dan, what is your gear? I have an Epi les paul plus top pro but sounds nothing like yours...
Sheez.
