Poor Ferdinand and Isabella - to learn that their only son is going to be a father, only to lose him and the child within a year, to see the last of their House die off and rule pass to the Habsburgs.

Luis Federico Sala naah. She was constantly pregnant, to a point where she temporarily lost her senses after yet another painful childbirth. Her body was exhausted and eventually she also died due to childbirth at a far too young age. Literally killed by being a brood mare.

Sad if they had just let isaballa abdicate her right to inherit should could have lived happy in retirement. Instead the made her marry again and she died giving birth.

Mental issues? I don't know, I don't think she had such. That is certain that she lived in melancholy and sorrow after the death of her first husband. I think the fact that she saw a happy young newly wed couple so closely (John&Margaret) only reminded her that she and Afonso were exactly like them after their wedding.
You would think that a young girl get over her first love easily, but it seems it wasn't like that for Isabella. She swore never to marry again but she was forced to. First she wanted to enter a convent after Afonso's death, but her parents didn't allow. Then her mother promised her she won't have to marry again, yet they forced her to do so later. Of course she had grudges because of this.
I think that psichologically you can understand if there was some sibling jealousy in Isabella towards her brother, but that doesn't mean she didn't love him. But Isabella grew up till the age of 7 as the heir, only child, and most important thing in her mother's life, and it suddenly all changed when her brother was born. And then the other daughters came, and soon Isabella was just one of the 4 daughters of her parents, while the precious only son got most of the attention. Having John such an impact on her life, it's no wonder she had some sibling jealousy.

I think as well she is feeling set aside. She's leaving to marry against her wishes, doing her duty, but at least she was getting some attention in her leave taking. The focus was on her. Now suddenly all the attention is back on her brother again, and she feels ignored. Look how she steps aside, and nobody even noticed. This was her moment, her leave taking, and suddenly it's of secondary importance. Poor Isabella.
