    Kind of crazy how all these guys from completely different action sports have all converged in the racing/drift sport.
    My roommate in college had a legit XT6 he used to deliver pizzas in. Dude was quite possibly the most reckless driver I've ever been in a car with.
    I can't wait to see this when you get it done Bucky!

  • @johnrae4633
    @johnrae4633 8 месяцев назад +1

    I'm very jealous, not least as I don't think we got the 6 here in the UK, and even the 4cyl was a rarity, especially here in Scotland!
    As far as your car's journey home, I've been there, and the return journey had just about every kind of weather from brilliant sunshine to snow‼️
    I wasn't getting a Subaru, but I was getting back a January 1961 Ford Thames 400e, you guys called them the Ford Thames Freighter! This one was bought new by my dad just weeks after I was born, for our family Bakers business. When the business closed in 1972, dad kept this particular van, the other 3 were sold.
    Sadly dad died in 1980, which was the last time it was on the road! Moving forward to early 2003, the van and a 1965 Rover P5 3litre that I'd bought in 1991, were stolen from the farm where they were stored! I was gutted, and never thought I'd ever find either of them again, but I was lucky!
    In October 2019 an eBay saved search for 400e's threw up yet another notification, and by the 3rd photo I knew that this 400e was my father's!
    Unfortunately though, someone got to it before me!
    And then it appeared online again just a few weeks later, this time on Facebook!
    So.eone was obviously looking down favourably on me, and this time I was able to buy it back!
    Your trip Bucky, was in comfort, but my tow vehicle was my old 1984 Land Rover 90, and a return trip of 1150 miles, and NOT in comfort!! Now I'm collecting the missing parts and the money needed to restore it!
    The Rover, well that'll never turn up like the van did; it's gone forever!!

    Heck yeah!! There was a white XT-Turbo in our garage when I was a teenager. The air suspension and front steering geometry were really amazing. I remember 'square wheels and a digital dash on that particular car.
    Going to be a great trip down memory lane, for sure!!!

  • @Levibetz
    @Levibetz 8 месяцев назад +2

    Hell yeah, can't wait to see what you do with it. I'm sure you already know, but the XT6 is cool because it's a bit of a crossover to the later cars with a two bolt style front knuckle, 5x100 bolt pattern, awd 5 speed (so any EJ 5 speed should bolt in), etc. I'd love to see what the ER27 can do but a EG or EZ should be a doable swap and make it truly quick.

    Bucky! You ain't gonna believe this, but that's my old XT6. I don't mean I had one lilke it, I mean that was my EXACT XT6. I can tell you all about it's history if you want. As soon as you showed the key chain from Casa Subaru, I knew it was my old XT6. I loved that car. I had a lot of good times in it. I'm glad to see it's getting the love it deserves. I tried for years to find someone like you and you're girls to restore it and love it, but just couldn't connect. Cheers, bro. I know you'll love it like I did.
