    I cycled the Shimanami Kaido in June! Funny to see you take the same route we did. We also visited the Innoshima Flower Center. It looked a little abandoned, I think they were still recovering from the pandemic. But it was still nice to visit!

    I went to Setoda and stayed at SOIL Setoda twice. It was really nice. The first was when I first visited Japan; the second time I brought to of my friends with me and we stayed there. It was a nice, relaxing experience; and they liked the visiting off-the-beaten-path trip. I really liked the Seto Inland Sea. There's a good book written in 1971 called The Inland Sea by Donald Richie (there's also a film about his book) of him travelling the Seto Inland Sea. Setoda also has a museum for Hirayama Ikuo and a restaurant has lemon-nabe to try.
    I'd like to go back to spend more time in Onomichi and see Mitarai, Takehara, and maybe see some other islands and towns.

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  3 месяца назад +1

      Oh how nice you stayed at the hotel! I think it's definitely a great idea to spend at least a night on the island. I need more time there next time. The book from 1971 sounds very very interesting. I'd like to check it out. Thenk you very much for sharing about the book.

    Another excellent episode, 待ってました、けんごさん(今回はちょっとだけ英語使って見ました笑)!今回の動画見ながらつくづく自分は山より海だ、と思いました。何気ないフェリーが穏やかな瀬戸内の島の間を。。。やはり非日常感体験できて素敵ですよね。尾道も特に何もせずぶらりと歩くのがいい所、かと思いきや、最後のU2はズルい、自分の感性にあった憧れるような場所です。
    素敵な旅、一緒に楽しませさせていただきました。贅沢しなくてもいい、この行程、2週間くらいかけて周ってみたくなりました。
    シリーズ化、お願いしますね!

      hidekiさん、このシリーズ推していただき有難うございました!とても励みになりました。東京に戻ったら1本あたり3日ほどで終わるだろうと思っていたら想定以上に編集に時間がかかり、1ヶ月半遅れでの公開となってしまいました。少しだけ間が開きますが、試行錯誤して旅シリーズ続けたいと思っています。それぞれの季節にあった旅行先というのがあると思うのですが、モタモタしている間にあっとう間に雪が降り始めそうです。笑 多島美という言うそうですが、関東ではまり島が重なる光景というのを見ないので私も感動しました。船ってこんなに時刻通りにスムーズに入出航するのだなというのも驚きました。そうですね、昭和っぽい光景も懐かしいですが、U2のような場所があるとホッとしますよね。笑 雰囲気だけでなく、カフェラテとレモンケーキも美味しくてさすが尾道だなと思いました。今後ともよろしくお願いいたします。^^

    Thank you for another great video Kengo san. I haven't decided what I'll do on my next visit to Japan, but there are some really interesting ideas here.
    I have looked at that bike trip before and it seems that maybe you went from west to east? Do you know if it's usually more windy going one direction than the other?

    • @tokyokenchan
      @tokyokenchan  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much for watching. Shimanami and Onomichi are great regions to see around. :) The direction was towards north east, and I'm starting in the middle of Shimanami Kaido (Ikuchijima Island). It goes around the islands, so direction chnages time to time, but I don't think I really headed south. For the winter season, I saw several Japanese sites recommending to bike towards Onomichi due to the strong wind coming from west to east. I hope you have a great trip!

    1983年7月16日劇場公開の映画「時をかける少女」で尾美としのりさんが演じた堀川悟朗がどうして「俺、ションベンに行って来る」と不自然に3度も告げるのか理由をご存知ですか。
    それは、1953年11月23日劇場公開の映画「東京物語」のパロディーなんです。
    笠智衆さんが演じた平山周吉が用を足すために家族との食事の席を外す場面は1度だけでしたが、香川京子さんが演じた平山京子が筒湯小学校へ出勤する場面が3回ありましたよね。
    京子先生が「行って参ります」と告げる場面が3度あったからです。

      Also, if you like to get SIM cards with phone number, there is also a plan from Mobal but might be a bit costly for a short term travel. www.mobal.com/japan-esims/?t=st
