- Prince Rama Varma, with his top team of Sri S.R.Vinu, Sri B.Harikumar, Dr.S.Karthick and Payyannur Sri Govindaprasad, gave a delightful and unforgettable concert at the Sri Uthradam Thirunal Chithralayam in Trivandrum, soon after the Swathi Sangeethotsavam which takes place from January 4th to 13th every year.
Stringing together a garland of exquisite compositions, mostly unfamiliar to the audience (but some of them very familiar and much loved among Varmaji's RUclips fans!) Varmaji and his team took the gathering on a magical journey for three full hours.
Packed with melody, rhythm, poetry and joy, a sense of oneness where the singer, the instrumentalists, the listeners and the spirits of the great composers all came together as one, this was one of those super special evenings that would be cherished by one and all, for a long time to come.
I feel privileged to share the entire concert here, since it was impossible to omit even a single song from this collection.
This rendition of Sadasiva Brahmendra's beautiful song Gayathi Vanamali in raga Hamsadhwani, just sends shivers down my spine! What an incredible voice Varmaji has developed over the years!
