The Ending is showing that they were all brought into the entity's realm. So they were waiting at the camp fire for 4 people to arrive, beginning a DeadbyDaylight match (aka a trial). In the lore of DBD, 4 survivors and 1 killer are required to have the perfect trial (Which is why they were waiting for Madi at the end).

The characters from dbd won't be there since it knows that 4 people survived until the entity was brought into that timeline, essentially trapping them forever. So it'll just be those 4 at the campfire because the entity won't allow more than 4 people at the campfire at a time.
