I showed up early and set up close mics on the amps and kit, two room mics behind the drummer, and split signals from the vocal mic. This is all through my audient id14 + asp800 which are both pretty mobile.
@@deadmotherscollective you're awesome! thank u for the detail! im trying to get into recording live shows around new york and the hudson valley area professionally, so it means a lot.
It sounds like microphonic feedback which produces a high squeal instead of the typical note ringing, unwound uses it a lot too on songs like entirely different matters and swan. you can get it by using certain types of pickups like wide single coils or possibly p90s?, my jazzmaster feedbacks the same when I have a bunch of gain and volume.
I'm actually gonna kill myself bruh all their best material is unreleased and now we're never gonna be able to hear it. Literally on par with the best This Heat and Swans stuff. FUCK.
This is the cleariest sound of the unreleased song ive ever heard. Taking this as the honoray studio version that never came to be
honored
23:55 GOD DAMN

god that shit goes SO FUCKING HARD
Unbelievable behavior. Unbelievable band. rip
@@deadmotherscollective I cry every time I watch this because we'll probably never get a official release.
While they haven’t done a bad track, that unreleased song is still probably my favorite of theirs.
this sounds great!!!
how'd you get such a clear sound on this???

@@fuzzcut1 Of course. I'm no veteren, but reach out via email or IG if you ever need advice.
How on earth do they get that feedback? Shit sounds crazy
basically just gotta have a fuckton of gain and volume and max out the high eq of ur amp. it also helps to fuck with whammy bar if ur guitar has one

Don't kill yourself
The members of Sprain still exist. I'm sure we'll get something in due time.
Alex Kent's (lead guitarist and vocalist) solo project "Big Brown Cow" has a song that uses the lyrics of the unreleased track
shearling
@@mic-ps1qtAnd from what I know, this exact unreleased song will become a Shearling song
