    This is Manchester City's year. Real Madrid may be the champions league kings, but they were outplayed by a world class team and this time they couldn't rely on luck because Man City dominated. They're just a machine and while most of the success this season has been all about Erling Haaland mostly Kevin De Bruyne as well the likes of Jack Grealish Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan are also important pieces in this City team. Bernardo Silva has been so versatile and every role he's played at City, he's done it so so well, Jack Grealish does the hard work on the ball and works hard off the ball and he doesn't need to score or assist you just have to watch him play and acknowledge just how good he is. Ilkay Gundogan along with Kevin De Bruyne makes this team tick in midfield he's an excellent utility player, he'll score when it's vital and make key plays moves and passes for this team. What about the defense, Kyle Walker shut Vinicius Junior down, Ruben Dias is one of the best transfers made in recent memory because he's one of the reasons why Manchester City have gotten to 2 champions league finals in the last 3 seasons his impact on the defensive end has been spot on and he's a leader and that's what you need in this talented side. John Stones is a world class defensive midfielder he's literally like his Sergio Busquets excellent in his passing game and plays center back too does these roles at such a high level, Manuel Akanji has been a revelation for this team he's been a bargain at 25 million and has been a starter for most of the season. They're winning champions league and Pep Guardiola finally found a formula for this competition and after overthinking for all these years, he finally knows his best 11 for these big champions league games and more of the same in the final.

      This City team would know exactly how that 2011 Barca team would play. But when that Barca team would see the speed of todays game, the intensity of pressing and the work rate off the ball and how all 11 of the City players defend as a unit, that Barca team would not know what hit them.
      Things get better because they are built on collective knowledge of all that has happened. This City side is better, not necessarily greater.

      @@rapden18 You may be entirely too young and/or stupid to understand the evolution of a sport. I have seen 4 generation of footballers now and every generation is better than the one that preceded them. The "individual talent" you speak off is almost always beaten by the "collective" because after all this is a team sport. And even talents vary. Erling Haaland has 10% of Messi's "individual talent" but he is banging goals like a prime Messi and he is just 22! You know why? Because whatever "individual talent" Haaland lacks is compensated by the fact that his off the ball movement and timing is the best I have ever seen. He will never need to dribble past 6 guys to score. He will find the space, he will time his runs and he will tap them in. And he will do that at pace set by CR7 and Messi. This is what you call evolution.

    • @maiz2263
      @maiz2263 Год назад +1

      @@vlad3858 because it is a completely different story. Real, Bayern, Juventus, Liverpool have been "naturally grown" teams that build up their status and financial power by being succesfull for centuries. They all played by the same rules and needed to find the right balance between the success on the pitch while still being profitable businesses. They all had financial limitations. City, Paris and soon Newcastle don t have that anymore. They are used by oil money countries/cooperations as a shiny new toy to polish their image in the world. They have no spending limitations no need of being profitable and will run all the others teams into the ground since they cannot compete with transfer fees and wages. They will just push the rest into the super league (what noone really wants) since it will be the only fair way to compete.

    Outstanding performance by City . The first half was unbelievable- it’s too bad that it wasn’t 4-0 at halftime but Courtois showed his class to keep Real Madrid in it. The second half was never to going to rival the first half because Peps side had this game stitched up. I feel for Carlo Ancelotti as he knows his time is up - he is a class act always , a great player, a magnificent Manager and an even better human being. Pep is simply the finest Manager and Coach I have ever seen in over sixty years of following the game.

      He's managed the three biggest/richest/best club in three different leagues yet he's still only won the CL with a team that contained the widely perceived "GOAT" as well as some of the best players of their generation or indeed any generation.

    what about John Stones in that disguised role in the middle of the pack with freedom to move further forward. He fits in perfectly for this tempo and pace of the game. Pep had been experimenting these tactics and it all came together in that second leg. I think Haaland would still grow with time but Alvarez is an exciting talent and if his playing time increases, I bet we will have one of the best strikers in Europe in few seasons. Rodri and Gudogan were immaculate with the latter more dangerous in between lines and arriving in the box. This kind of teams take years to build.
