I hope you enjoyed my very FIRST yarn review! All of the yarn I talked about in this video will be linked in the description. Which yarn are you gonna try first??
I loved your review and have been using Hobbii yarn for a while now, I’m making the Horizon junior blanket however I’m making it to fit a queen size and it’s almost finished I get a ton of yarn they have great deals all throughout the year!
Thanks for a great review of this yarn. I have used some yarn from Hobbii, but leaned about some of the yarn that I have purchased. I am certainly interested in trying some that I haven't tried. Thanks again and congrats on your first, well reviewed Hobbii yarn review .
I don’t even go here (crochet) but I’d totally buy this yarn from your review. The colors look amazing, and the company seems to be very cool! Well done!
I’m glad you enjoyed the review! Thanks for the tip on burning the yarn. I was trying to burn it without setting it on fire but it happened so quickly 😂
I love Hobbii! Their wide range of yarns can be a bit overwhelming, but their selection of colors, weights and fibers just can't be beat for the price. Even though I live in the USA, their shipping is so fast. So far, I haven't found a yarn from them that I don't like. Their twister cotton is amazing for shawls and light weight spring and summer cardigans or tops, hint, hint, nudge, nudge.
@@SigoniMacaroni Amigo, is really good, Fluffy day, which you already have, Metallico is a really nice one too, the Malaga world of yarn is so freaking soft! They have a shawl pattern called Licorice for it. It was the first triangle shawl I ever made and I fell in love with it, not just the pattern, but the yarn, I bought enough to make my mom and my other sisters each a shawl with the same pattern, and Universe is also really nice. They have grab bags going right now. 4 cakes of 100% cotton, 800 meter cakes each! For 40.99 US dollar. Plus shipping but I find their shipping is not as expensive as some other companies. Any of their kid mohair are really nice too. I like to get those when they are on sale and then I use them as embellishments on cardigans, ponchos or sweaters.
Loved this video! Also appreciate knowing the actual way to pronounce the name - I’ve been calling it Hobby. I’ve ordered a lot from them but haven’t used any yet.
I love Hobbii! I’ve mostly used Malaga, because I love the way it glides through my hands &over my hooks. I also put 4 shades together to make the most beautiful throw. I’ve made a fabulously Cosy shawl out of the Malaga glitter. I NEVER try & find the entire pull, it’s impossible! I think Hobbii is best known for cotton, but I buy only acrylic, and only ever in the sales, because I think they’re pretty expensive. They are ultra reliable, though
I haven't seen the Malaga yarn yet. I will have to check that out! I do think they are best known for cotton, but they have so many beautiful yarns. They also have really great sales!
I have ordered from Hobbii in the past. In fact it was the first online order I placed for yarn. What I was unaware of was that if I chose a shipping method other than Canada Post, I would have to pay custom processing fees. Lesson learned, I always choose Canada Post from now on. Some of the yarn is pricey, but I buy on sale or order bulk which reduces the cost. Shipping is very reasonable, especially since it is coming from across the pond. I also love their links to patterns right in the yarn description. Thanks for your informative review, I have only ordered cotton and fingerling yarn in the past,
Oh that's good to know! I didn't know about that. But yes, I forgot to mention the discounts on bulk buying in the video but I do love that they do that. I also noticed that they have really great sales. Oh and if you enjoy bingo, I actually played bingo with them last Sunday and it was so much fun! She was giving away SO much yarn, it was honestly insane. But awesome ❤️ Such a good company
Fun fact the reason for the flame tip for the snuggle yarn is because it's polyester ie plastic so the heat makes it melt! Same for poly string etc! Learned that when I was young in my grandpa's workshop haha!
Thank you so much for this video! I love hobbii, I have a few things from them but haven't actually used any yet. Everything has been lighter than I was expecting it to be. But I have all these different horizon colors that I can't wait to use i just need to figure out the right patterns. But im constantly struggling to not buy more things from hobbii and you just made that 10 times harder lmao they're gonna be taking all my money soon 😂
Hahaha honestly, me too! I have come to really love Hobbii as a company after really researching them. So many beautiful yarns! You know I've been making lots of socks lately and they just came out with new sock yarn! Obviously I have to get that 😆 When you purchased their Horizon yarn, what were you thinking about making? I have a few of them and I haven't nailed down what I'm going to make yet. Do you have any ideas??
@@SigoniMacaroni oh also can you link to that yarn dispenser thing from this video? I know you have somewhere before but I can't remember how to find it lol. For the horizon yarn I didn't have anything specifically in mind it was just so beautiful I had to get it lol. I'm all about bright colors so the rainbow one in your video is what first drew me and then I got like 4 other color patterns I discovered when ordering the rainbow. I was thinking maybe a scarf or shawl? But this video has me leaning towards a blanket with it being self stripping like that. I'm about to post a video in the fb group of the Halloween yarn I got and tag you in it to see if you have suggestions for that lol
Keep in mind too I’ve gotten an order where yarn came to me all unwound but Hobbii let me keep the original skeins and sent me new ones too I just took a picture as soon as I opened the package
The only yarn I used from Hobbii is the Horizon. It is a beautiful yarn and very easy to work with. I did not have the same problem as you with the yarn falling apart. I would definitely buy Horizon again..
If you haven't already, I highly recommend watching my Learn To Crochet Masterclass series here on RUclips. Lesson 6 is all about keeping your edges straight but if you're new to crochet then you might want to watch over the whole course. @@honorjune I would start with the recommended hook size. It should be listed on the label of the yarn that you choose. If you’re stitches are too tight, go up a hook size. If they’re too loose, go down a hook size
Great reviews. I've used Hobbii's Horizon, Amigo and Fantasy yarns and they never disappoint. A word of caution about the reflective yarn: make sure you check with the homeless shelter first because most homeless people do not want to be seen at night. That is, they don't want to stand out and become targets.
8/8 means its twisted from 8 seperate threads :) if its 8/4 its made from 4 threads and 8/6 from 6 :) but i dont know what the first 8 stands for 😅 i love hobbii! i order almost all my yarn there. my very favorite yarn from them is the tweed delight-its a dream to work with, its suuuuper soft and the tweed effect is beyond beautiful:) i also really like the metallico from them and the rainbow cotton 8/4 ist great for amigurumi and can be combined super easy witch schachenmayr catania :) i have every single color of the rainbow 8/4 and also from catania and im very happy that they can be used together cause both brands miss some colors the other has :)
I have had a yarn dispenser and It always got stuck on the bottom so I couldn't pull it. It didn't matter where I put the ball of yarn or dispenser. Ideas?
I made a blanket with hobbii acrylic aran yarn size 4 weight. I washed it and it stretched and I wasted all that time on making the blanket. What did I do wrong? Does anyone know why this happened? I 'm devasted. I loved the yarn so wonderful to crochet with, wanted to return the rest but shipping was over 60,00, Thanks in advance
I was gifted a couple Twister cakes and have used one of them. Easy to work with but I don't care for the knot that they use when one of the strands change colors. Is there knot trustworthy? I don't know yet but I hope so. I couldn't undo their knot and make my own. Not liking knots in my projects, the knots with every color transition bothers me. I haven't tried any of their other yarns.
I can understand that. I didn’t notice any knots while I was working with them but I haven’t created a full size project yet. With horizon, there weren’t any knots with the color changes
send Hobbii a photo of that awful yarn barf. I’m sure they’ll replace it, especially if you casually mention that have a RUclips channel, where you do reviews…

I liked your review - focused, concise. No ramblings about wips. Thanks ❤
Thank you for the wonderful presentation. I love that you not only discuss the yarn but also SHOWS us a sample.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I really enjoyed putting this video together if you couldn't tell 😉
Ooo that horizon yarn looks amazing! Way prettier in person than on the website!
Yes! The colors are magnificent 😍
When I read your email today, I couldn't wait to see your new video! It was super fun 💞
Yay! I’m so glad! ❤️
I have never had the opportunity to try Hobbi Yarn yet. Thank you for this honest review. It was very helpful.
I'm so glad you found it helpful! You won't be disappointed, I'm thoroughly impressed 😊
Thanks for your awesome review. I just placed an order while the sale was still on!!
Thanks for a great review of this yarn. I have used some yarn from Hobbii, but leaned about some of the yarn that I have purchased. I am certainly interested in trying some that I haven't tried. Thanks again and congrats on your first, well reviewed Hobbii yarn review .

I have been using their cotton yarns for a few years and I LOVE it!
Yes! I’m officially obsessed 🤩 Do you have any other favorites from them?
Very entertaining and honest review! I plan on looking on their website for sure. Thank you!
You're so welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video
I don’t even go here (crochet) but I’d totally buy this yarn from your review. The colors look amazing, and the company seems to be very cool! Well done!
Thank you!! 🥰 Honestly, this company is amazing. I'm super impressed with everything I found. If I lived in Denmark I would totally work there 🤣
Love your review! I just visited Hobbii's website to find yarn and then I found your video, which was very helpful in buying
I’m glad you enjoyed the review! Thanks for the tip on burning the yarn. I was trying to burn it without setting it on fire but it happened so quickly 😂
I like the horizon and rainbow yarn. Great demo, especially burning the yarn
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
I love this new video - will try the yarn - you guessed it - I am following you for sure!!!!!
