The Cesar Chavez Foundation has identified several parcels for the development of a phased mixed use residential project within downtown Montebello. The project as proposed will be developed in two phases. Phase I would be located at 112-132 South 6th Street and consist of a three (3)-and four (4)-story building to include sixty-three (63) affordable residential units with subterranean parking for families and survivors of domestic violence. Phase II would be located at 501-525 East Whittier Boulevard and include a mixed-use, four (4)-story building with sixty-nine (69) residential units (both market rate and affordable) and approximately 10,100 square feet of commercial space that is anticipated to include a restaurant and retail commercial space to be built over one (1) level of subterranean parking.
