I bought the rk84 but I was really disappointed with the malfunctioning wireless mode. The Bluetooth and dongle are both bad. I eventually gave up and resorted to wired mode and then just returned it bc the price point price was not justified for a malfunctioning device.
@CvD I am not sure it would occur with the RK61 but with the RK84, both wireless modes were unreliable. For dongle, there isn't much to talk about because keystrokes barely register. For bluetooth, keystrokes would miss every now and then. This forced me to attach the USB-C wire for 100% reliability. Also, the RGB lights would go to sleep after 5 minutes despite configuring on the Royal Kludge software (settings would return to default after restarting my computer). With all of these issues, the keyboard did not at all feel justified for its pricepoint. I figured that people only buy it to mod it and make it look pretty, but overlooks the malfunctioning aspect.
Honestly I'm split. Seems like they deffinately put forth the effort to give you additional extras. Nicer key caps, yellow switches, thick braided cable.. But I think I would still go the RK84 just for those 2 usb ports and additional BT connectivity. I can go out and buy better key caps ans switches and add dampening. But I'm not so technically inclined to be able to add usb ports.
my tecware phantom 87 in stock form always pings when i press a key. Is it the case or the switches? and if its the case would a tape mod fix it? Btw im loving the vids right now and you definitely deserve 100k subs.
It could honestly be both. If the case is hollow you could add foam to the case and do a tape mod. I would recommend lubing your switches too if you care enough. I did it all to my keeb yesterday and I love it
it shouldnt ping at all (maybe very very light ping esp if you have clicky switch). it already has foam in it and the build quality is nice... must be a qc issue. i suggest you return it if there is indeed a ping
Better than RK84, probably, the keycaps being PBT are better than RK84 with ABS, Better than RK84 Pro, UP for debate. It does appear to be a good price for what you get. If the case was full aluminum, I would feel comfortable with $50 added to the price.

In short it's a downgraded RK84 pro. With the removed usb ports, cheaper back plate, but it at least you cam buy it with yellow switches.
