Amazingly simple video , best on RUclips. Thank you so much.
Great video! Thank you!
Awesome how-to video... followed exactly what you said to replace my leaky hose bibb. Thanks!
Sir thank you for this video!!!you just saved me a lot of money I believe and showed me how to fix!!! Well done 👍👍👍👍👍
Just came across this how to video, just in time, my bib is leaking and I need to replace before freezing weather gets here. Looks easy enough for me to attempt 😁
Great video. Simple and to the point
Best video I found on this 👍👍👍
Thanks Dad! Helped a lot!
Wow that’s original 😊
Perfect video, like you said 4 minutes straight to the point A+! 👍🏽
Yep, my thoughts exactly. I hit light before I even watched it just because it was short. & To the point
Good show
Great . I have issue with my garage faucet and I need to replace
The only surprise to me was the use of pipe dope. What brand do you recommend? I stopped using pipe dope when it basically glued in an adapter to my water pump (over 15 years). I could not remove it with a pipe wrench.
I like the way you applied teflon tape - leaving the first thread bare metal. Thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH 10/10
You are welcome.
Good tip to use 2 wrenches - channel lock and crescent wrench combo ! I need to get the pipe dope.
Glad it helped.
Yup just make sure it's pipe dope
So, but what do you do if there IS a tiny drip leak coming from where you just screwed the new bib in?? I just put on a new hose bib, but it would not thread all the way in...but it is as tight as it will go...and I did use Teflon tape. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
Looked on your long list of videos but don't see anything about vacuum breaker. Please discuss what is process for setting up and why needed. Is it related to pressure regulation?
I need to replace mine as the previous vacuum breaker screwed up the threads. Having trouble locating a valve shutoff though. Pray for me. 😒
Wait. So you had to cut your wall open to get to the shutoff for the faucet? That probably took more than 4 minutes. Unfortunately my shutoff is in a tunnel behind my kitchen cabinets! Also there is no outside connection to unscrew. Is there a rebuild kit for replacing the insides of the seized up existing faucet?
Can you replace the hose bib on a frost free faucet.
i turned off the main house valve but the outdoor faucet still produces water, indoor faucet have stopped producing water. I live in condo and this outdoor faucet on my patio in located underneath my neighbor's kitchen, am i using their water??
Good video but there is a "catch". Unfortunately the frost proof ones sometimes are not that easy to change as those "classic" faucets were. And many of the recent installs were made with frost proof faucets.
My existing 25 yr old hose bib is apparently “frozen” to the threads, guessing from years of deposit buildup. Even using the opposing pipe wrench for support, I don’t won’t to put too much torque attempting to break it loose concerned I’ll damage the interior pipe. Any suggestions? Edit: I’ve tried spraying with lubricant.
Heat it with a torch!!!
Whats that blue stuff called?
What city is this? Trying to make out the background, looks nice!

I live in an apt building and want to do this. How do I locate the water source to turn off?
Ask your maintenance or front office
do you need to the blue gunk?
Other sources say no. Use one or the other, but the Teflon thread tape will suffice.
Can you please tell me the size of that water valve. Thanks
1/2”.
@@TheBuildingExpert Thank you
It’s usually written on the side. Often 1/2” but can be different.
@@mdturner777 Thank you
How do you do this when the inner pipe is not exposed & inside the home structure?
Cut the wall!
If it's in a basement it's likely accessable it's best to have a second person who can hold the pipe but if you don't have an extra body, you can use a crescent wrench or monkey grip pliers to hold the pipe and then wedge the wrench in the gap that the pipe follows outside.. if you have no basement, it's behind the wall or in the crawlspace under the house, more of a hire a plumber job at that point really.
You have to cut the water from somewhere. If you can’t access the hose shutoff, you may have to turn off the water main to the house to make the repair. When you shut them off you will have to turn the hose on to drain the water that has already built up, but then you can make the repair. Don’t forget to turn the main back on!
I have a spigot outside that won't turn at all. And I cannot find a good video to show how to replace
If the hose bibb needs replacement, might as well install a 1/4 one. These standard style are a pain to use. 1/4 turn valves are so much easier to use and are not that much more in cost!
No need to install any vacuum breaker as it is completely useless! The water pressure inside the line is under pressure and nothing from the outside will reverse flow back into the line!!!
I’ve read quarter-turn valves are more likely to break in freezing weather. Mine did.
I never use teflon tape. I use pipe dope. Italian Plumbers do it best!
Pros use tape and dope.. Also .. Never hide shut off valves in walls ;)
Only in Italy not here

if you could replace hose bib under 4 minutes then maybe it did not have to be replaced at all.
If your YT video married an over seas customer service agent.
Poor sound quality. Almost useless.
Sounds fine here..fix your phone
Sounds fine on my end.
Not even a slight issue with the sound. Has to be on your end.
Turn on the volume........
