आपने बहुत ही सच्ची बात बताई , हम भारतीयों को विदेशी धरती ही पसंद आती है, हमारे धनाढ्य वर्ग के लोग विदेशी पर्यटन की तारीफ करते नहीं थकते , मगर ये लोग भूल जाते है, हम जिस देश में रहते हैं, वहां के पर्यटन को भी बहुत सुंदर बनाया जा सकता है । ये देश का दुर्भाग्य है कि हमारे देश में अच्छे पर्यटन स्थल होने के बाद भी , सरकारें उनके रख-रखाव पर कोई ध्यान ही नहीं देती । सभी को विदेश यात्रा का चस्का लगा हुआ है, शायद इसे status symbol bhi माना जाता है ।
महत्वपूर्ण विषय। सचमुच सरकार की आंख
खुलनी चाहिए।
हमारे देश मे एक विशेषता यह भी है यदि उत्तर से दक्षिण यदि आप जाएं तो वर्ष के सारे मौसम एक समय में आंनद लेने को मिल जाएगा।

Agree with all the points U have raised. I am NRI and my home is in Pune. I have traveled to various states, last being MP. Maharashtra is least developed for tourism. Quality of roads and infrastructure is poor. Even Pune for such long time has no ring road, no good airport ....Traffic is chaotic. Somehow Maharashtrain feel they are smart but I feel they are backward. Gift city will take away lot of corporate offices from Mumbai

I had visited lonavala & khandala in 1981, when I went to puna from Delhi for a training. We were a group and went by mopeds. I fell in love with the place, and also the tasty CHIKKI sold there.
Sardanaji, my passion is tourism and I visited many countries and tourism alone can make India super rich. Forget industries.
Eco tourism, temple tourism and medical tourism is Kamadhenu for India which BJP heavily neglected with no investments. What india has no country has. Ex in telengana and AP there are 3000 temples with poor roads and zero toilets. Any proposal for private participation is vetoed.
First we should have garbage cleaning ministry to plan waste removal dumped on railway tracks and highways. Any tourist spot is full of paper plates and plastic bags. Beaches are filled with human waste and stink. It was the British who developed hill stations and nothing done after 1947. Indians go abroad mainly for hygienic environment, safety and discipline of hotel staff and tour guides. Except for Taj, professional guides are not available. Pathetic situation.

Mostly it's the duty of the concerning states. But some states I have seen especially in northeast and east officials and ministers are by and large indifferent. Because they think this sector doesn't bring votes directly. I personally talked to many and repeatedly got the same experience. Work not done. If done only on adhoc basis.

As usual, you have highlighted an important issue. We have faced similar constraints and concerns in Munnar (Kerala), Chail (HP) and Sonmarg (J&K). In fact due to extremely poor road conditions we had to recently return from halfway between Sonmarg and Drass.
Vijay ji, Maharashtra political fraternity and beurocracy is hand in gloves as far as corruption is concrrned. The officials are so corrupt that they don't bother even if MSME units are leaving the State.

Recently I visited Gangtok and Darjeeling, the two places are worlds apart, Gangtok is kept very clean, compared to Darjeeling. The railway station was not kept clean although it's a World Heritage site.
WE VISITED MANY TIMES BUT CAN BE BETTER FOR TOURISTS .INFRASTRUCTURE, SAFETY, OTHER HELPFUL WAYS ALSO.

You are right. As long as the place would fill up with Bihari hawkers, the place would not come into the notice of the Authority. And the place would be a Kabara. Delhi is suffering from that syndrome and converted to a Kabara. Kejriwal is responsible for that. That's why our elite tourists are looking for Dubai, Singapore, Thailand etc.
