    Thank You for taking the time to make this video. I have a 15 year that is still struggling with spelling at all levels. Think I might get this program for him. Your video is the best I have seen that breaks this program down and what is inside the teacher book. Well done.

      I think he would benefit from this! I am learning too and will no doubt be a stronger speller! You’ll fly through level 1, maybe other levels too till it’s at his level. But I can see why they start at level 1 no matter the age. We don’t use the the tiles if my son already knows the spelling, and don’t do the extra practice words if he seems to grasp the pattern. That makes it go a lot faster. Best of luck!

    I’m setting mine up along with you! Hope it’s going well for you! I probably will not use the app either, but mostly because we don’t use screens. I think they may have made it “boring” so it didn’t feel like a game or too stimulating? Thanks for sharing, would love an update! We also did MB 1 and found kind of “easy” but I would say it was a good “warmup” to get in a routine at least!

      Good luck! I just made an update video as we finished level 1… I think it’s linked in the description! It was a great program and we went through it quickly since he was an older kid and solid reader. We are on to level 2. Also decided to wait with my 2nd grader until she’s in 3rd grade and I’ll begin level 1 with her then. I think that will make it go faster with less work on both our ends.

    I would love an update and tips for AAS. I am somewhat overwhelmed by it and can't seem to get in a consistent groove 😕

      I can do an update video soon. We have been aiming for about 10 minutes a day. It was confusing at first but now more predictable. If you have any specific questions let me know and I’ll be sure to talk about them!

    Thanks! I watched this while organizing my AAS level 1 word cards for my daughter this year. :) I also have only used the sounds app 1-2 times in 2 years of teaching AAS. Not super useful.

      I am thinking the phonograms app would be more helpful to a family who’s second language is English to learn the letter sounds. Cool we will be using level 1 at the same time!

    I have a 3rd grader coming up do you think I should start with level 3 or should I go back to level 1? Just wondering if it will be way too easy for him.

      I’d 100% go to level 1. It will be a bit basic but I think that’ll give you feel of teaching to see how things work and fill in little gaps in his knowledge too. The app is worth it to avoid using tiles and it saves time! My 4th grader just finished level 2, and I decided to hold off starting my 3rd grader on AAS level 1 till she’s in 4th grade. She’ll be a stronger reader then, making more natural spelling connections, and we’ll be able to get through book 1 in 2-3 months instead of taking 6 months to a year. That’s a big advantage of working with an older student I think!

    Does it matter if you use the new set or the old set? Is there a difference besides color?

    I am starting with level two. Where did you get the box? Did it come with level 1?

    • @LizBlueandHazel
      @LizBlueandHazel  2 года назад +1

      It was a $10 add on right on their website. They need to just include it in a start up pack because it’d be hard to have the cards in the student packs without a box to organize!

      @@LizBlueandHazel I use an index card box that you can get at Walmart for less than $2 to organize my cards instead of buying the box for like $15 on their website.
