Good review. I was wondering how this design could be improved. I find gators too hot for daily use, so would probably not want the extra fabric around the calves. I will add a similar pattern using a little tougher fabric to my wool pants. Wool is very versatile and is good for all but summer here. Thanks for the detailed review.
That's good to know. I really like my Finnish, and other European wool. The Finnish (P65?) Jacket is my favorite. The pants you bought are a bargain price and look like awesome " toxic masculinity". Lol They are perfect BDUs for all occasions from what you described so well. I'm interested in tailoring my own since I have my personal favorite fabric, machines to do it on the ones I already have. BTW, the other videos you did on these kick butt too.
Hey Wooly, how does the shipping works, it a it confusing. do they have a standard shipping, for a certain amount of weight, or if ypu exceed that weight limit do you still have to pay other charges. let say you buy one pair of trousers at a time, can someone please explain that, you are right for people with inside legs 29 0r 30 its very pedantiic , as 99.9 percent of European guys are 6 foot tall or above, they looks very good and functional. i am warming to their products as i dont have any of them. keep up the good work, cheers H.
Cheers buddy, I'm not sure about the shipping , but generally it's the same shipping price for everything, I think, try adding more to your basket see if it changes
I finally decided to buy a pair but the sizing on their website is vague IE Med 35 waist Large 39 waist XL 43 waist . Which is great if you fit in to one of them sizes , if not then you will either have a pair of trousers far to big or to small. trouser waists have always gone up in 2 inchs and 4
@@RedBranchBushcraft Looking at their website again it seems there are 2 inside leg sizes 32 & 33.5 . So if you have short leg like a 29/30 or a long 34/36 your stuffed. I did email them and their response was to fill in the height chart , which is puzzling unless you want to pull the waist band over your head on a cold day 😅. They look a great pair of trousers but having a 4 inch difference between waist sizes is bonkers . Are their any other outdoors trousers you could recommend Wooly ?
I think Vidda Pro are even better but more expensive. The value per money of Varusteleka Sarma outdoor is probably matched only by Tru SPEC 24/7 Xpedition which are available in US and Canada.
Got mine after watching your best trousers ever video, can’t say I’m disappointed. Awesome work strides, pretty much indestructible 😃
I'm trying my best to destroy them , I'm close, I'd say the knees will go by the end of the summer
Absolutely awesome
🏴 love from Scotland 🏴
Cheers buddy, you must have watched them all by now?🦕🦖🥷
👍👍👍.
Great Trousers! Mine have given me excellent service to date.
Varusteleka also .. ordering and delivery .. no hassles and prompt.
Agreed
@@RedBranchBushcraft 👍
Going to buy a pair when they are back in stock. For the price they look like great value.
A very good pair of outdoor trousers

The extra fabric is not noticeable at all, if your into wool you should check out the sarma wool shell pants , I've a video on here about them to

Odd, I've about a 32/3 waist and the small fits me, to long in the leg though

What size are you? Ridgeline pi tail pants are amazing, adjustable legs
wish they had in desert or grey color, my stuff is all black and olive from every brand :D
Different colours would be great
i just don't know why the size calculator seems to not give me the recommended size
Really! I've found it spot on
After one year they even stand up on their own, next year they may walk or run a way!😂😅😂😅
They probably could already
can you imagine if they made Bibs overalls
They would be cool
I think I'll stick with my Vidda Pros, (despite being more expensive) I like the boot hooks and having more pockets 😉
Cool, I hear good things about them, might save up for a pair to test
@@RedBranchBushcraft IMO they are worth every penny 👍
Had to Google IMO ! Lol

Also the problem with Vidda Pros is that they are somewhat slim fit so they don't feel all type of legs. I have a pair and they are almost too tight.
Did you have to hem yours? 32" inseam still long for my short self 😢.😅
Yes, both pairs , I'm only 28 inch Inseam
@@RedBranchBushcraft same. Thanks for the reply. I am also researching the Fjallraven's trousers.
They look great, very expensive though
@@RedBranchBushcraft I'm done with Kuhl's.
What are they?
Varusteleka sounds like (with a german accent) "Var is da liqua" (where is the liquor?)
Var is tha choppa
@@RedBranchBushcraft yep say it with that accent....lol
Lol
Direct translation would something like 'gear sledge' - logo is Ukonvasara, finnish mythology version of Thor's Hammer
What height are u mate? What inside leg? Don't wanna buy the wrong size.
I'm 5foot 7 , inside leg 28, I had to get these altered
Did u buy regular? Im 5'10" usally a 32" leg. But dont want them too straight. Want some play for kneeling etc?
I'm not sure , could have been the short ones if they do them in this model
