Hi, this is kind of off point but I would like to recommend neverending story (book), it's a classic in Germany. I already said it in last video but this is better oportunaty. This book is so underrated but its definitely one of the greatest reads for me and its definitely something different than normal fantasy
I read the author of The Neverending Story hated the movie adaptation and they waited until the Author died to publish the movie. Sad. The movie is among my all-time favorite movies. Right next to Black Beauty.
I haven’t read them in a long time but I remember enjoying Legend and the Young Elite by Marie Lu. I didn’t finish either series due to personal reasons but i remember liking them a lot. Hopefully I will get around to finishing them sometime
I feel like I’m the only person who LOVED King of Scars! Zoya and Nikolai were my favorite characters from previous series though, and I loved getting Zoya’s backstory and being able to look at her from her perspective rather than Alina’s.
You didn't like Steelheart? Superhero fiction isn't usually my taste but I absolutely loved Steelheart, and basically everything else Brandon has written, what didn't you like about it?
@@ebnovels I will probably watch it anyway, I don't mind people having differing options as long as they are thought out. I am interested to see why you didn't enjoy it.
I get why you didnt enjoy the lies of locke lamora. On my first try i got half way through and dnfed it. But the second time around i actually enjoyed the writing and especially the plot. Now its one of my favourites
I know I'm late to commenting and watching this Elliot as im dealing a personal situation right now thats crazy however i really like the books you listed that you enjoyed. I'm definitely excited to check out the new Sanderson story. I'll have to check out your predictions videos. So happy that The Kingdom Of Back was so pleasing to you. For me, my favorite books to read up to this point was Slayer, Your Book Peace And Turmoil, also The Bret Hart Wrestling biography book. I look forward to reading the Starlight series by Sanderson, The DC Comics Naomi book, Kingdom Of Back and The Second book in the Slayer series by Kiersten White 😊 Anyways i wish you plenty of good vibes and I'm glad your dad is doing well. Take good care! 💜
Hi Elle .. First I want to commend you on everything that you’re doing for your father I went through the same thing and did the same thing and I commend you on that first and foremost your husband for being there on your side for you during those times cause that’s not easy. Also I want to say out of all the book tubers you’re the one that I like the best due to the fact we have similar taste and I can take a recommendation from you and like it. I do were one of the few that didn’t like wheel of time and lies of Locke lomara👎👎👎So I will be purchasing your Kindle version( Will there be an audio version)? of your books I can read it have a great day . thank you Eddie
I've been meaning to read Woven in Moonlight! I haven't heard anyone talking about it. Also, I'm really excited for the Rythmn of War also. ❤️Great video, as always! (And now I kind of want to read Kingdom of Back.)
Also waiting for Rhythm of War. And I have to find time to re-read all the three previous books. It's going to be close but I hope that I will manage it.
You've been raving about kingdom of back for a while, and I just saw someone else talking about it yesterday in a video. So...I ordered it today. So excited for it to come!
Aww, I'm sorry you didn't like Steelheart and Uprooted. What did you not like about them? Do you have reviews on them? It's funny how taste changes, maybe if I read them again now, I won't like them as much as I did then... PS. Hope your dad is doing ok. All the best.
I didn't love Locke Lamora either! Didn't hate it, just found it meh. I'm sad you didn't love Traitor's Blade though, Sebastien de Castell is a fave of mine but hey, books be subjective! Can't love everything by everyone. :(
Anyone who is interested, there is another book I read about the Mozart’s: mozart’s sister by Rita charbonnier. Might feel slow to some readers, but it is worth going back to it each time.
King of scars bummed me out. Felt like Bardugo has a clear path for Nikolai and no path for the rest of the cast. I’m just hopeful book 2 makes it all better.
Yeah it's such a shame Mozart's sister isn't well known around the world. Thankfully here in Germany we learn about her in school. Great to see someone wrote a book about her.
I haven't read Kingdom of Back yet, but I've read most of her other books, and The Young Elites trilogy is probably my favorite. The Legend Trilogy is also amazing, and I wasn't a fan of Warcross it just didn't vibe with me. The world was really hard to envision. And she has a Batman book that I also haven't read yet, though I don't know if I will, don't really care too much about superheroes.
Hey my booktube friend, i finally found your comment on here like old times 😄 I definitely gave your comment a thumbs up and we'll see if that new Sanderson book is worth the hype or not. The cover art looks epic tho. Be safe out there 👍🏼💜
Hey Elliott, Love the video as usual. I'm not even sure you can edit descriptions but I thought I'd mention for the Stormlight Archive Recap link you've accidentally called it the Starlight Archive :P Anyway best wishes to you and you're family now more than ever
I just read The Kingdom of Back. I wasnt prepared for what it was, it isnt my usual novel but i stuck it through because I felt Marie Lu's writing was beautiful and seemed to have a purpose. I was so glad I did. I believe a lot of nuance was missed on me, yet I still think it was a beautiful story especially come the end. It was such beautiful writing, so happy to see it get glory here.
When the world has been so chaotic and shocking news spring out one after another, we incline to turn to the world-building of fantasy and sci-fi genre where our imagination runs wild and our minds are taken to a getaway that helps us escape the painful reality that we're in, even for just a bit. 🤓 Great video, Elliot. I still have to catch up with your list here and in your previous two months' TBR lists. 🥰
I've read The Lies Of Locke Lamora very recently, and it may as well be the most poorly paced book that I've ever touched. Other than that there is soo many things that bothered me, and it is baffling for me how this book is so high rated. I do really feel like I'm missing something about it, I don't know. I may finish the series some time later, but as of now it is hard to get myself to continue with book 2.
@@ebnovels Well, my expectations for the first one were pretty high, give how overhyped it seems to be. For the second one the bar would be much lover, so probably I will like it better. And oddly enough I do enjoy flawed'books/art, but his book was 'advertised' to me as almost perfect. And thank you for finding time to respond, it is appreciated; and it is what I like about your channel a lot.
All the book covers are gorgeous! I would recommend Warcross by Marie Lu. The premise is similar with Ready Player One, but without all the references. Emika Chen was a great protagonist.

True, because the movie adapted just the first third of the book and kind of deformed the message and the main character
@@realyoriginalchanel3218 I will be looking into getting the novel.
This year has been chaotic as heck. I'm glad your father is back home
Thank you, us too!
Omg Queens of Innis Lear made me cry so much towards the end

I really want to read those at some point. I’ve heard pretty good things 😄
I just stumbled across your channel and watched like 10 videos.
I wanted to ask where you buy your glasses!? I love them so much!!!
Glassesusa actually! I used them in the past, and then they wanted to work with me, so I have a link 😄 bit.ly/ElliotBrooks-GlassesUSA
@@ebnovels Thank you so much!
That was a fun video!
so pretty and nice channel as always
I still feel like I'm stuck in March, when quarantine hit
SOOOOO true! Can't believe it's mid June! It just all feels like a dream.
Okay so I’m someone who usually zones out in videos when someone explains their sponsorship but yoooo Campfire sounds so cool!!
Right? It’s pretty sweet 😄

I think she has a whole video about it, it's probably explained there
I have an in depth review in the link! Although if you loved it, it might be better to avoid that video 😅

I’ve never heard of Campfire before and I’m new to your channel but that is so cool and I’m going to look into it!
I feel like so many people found king of scars disappointing :(
That’s interesting; I felt like everyone seemed to like it a lot more than I did 😅
It was a huge disappointment for me. I expected it to be Nikolai’s book but it really wasn’t.
Yah, I was not a fan of Lies of Locke Lamora. Not terrible, just a bit overrated....
Same on Rhythm of war! I’m only on book two but I’m so hyped for that book.
As a fellow music major I really need to get to Kingdom of Back!

Also waiting for Rhythm of War. And I have to find time to re-read all the three previous books. It's going to be close but I hope that I will manage it.
You can do it!
It would be great to hear why you're not a fan of magical realism, especially considering that you're such a fan of fantasy.
I usually either want fantasy or no fantasy. The in between is often strange to me.
You've been raving about kingdom of back for a while, and I just saw someone else talking about it yesterday in a video. So...I ordered it today. So excited for it to come!

I'm going to read The Kingdom of Back next month! so excited ^^
I'm a private language teacher and am very grateful for the fact that all of my students agreed to have our classes through Skype!
