Specialists ensure each gun goes together like the last one. It's quality assurance methods like that which so many manufacturers seem to have forgotten how to do!
I believe the concern for removing the handguard is with IR Laser/Illuminator zero wandering, but still. You've got a good point with the whole "we know about this place so lvm" typa thing
Fascinating! Thanks for this presentation and assessment, GB. I like the GrandPower AR platform a lot. Hopefully, the company will be exporting enough supply of them to the USA.
I have an upper that I built with an Adams piston. I've never noticed an greater recoil with it, but it is front heavy, as a piston will be. I have never really been bothered by the front heaviness of the piston, it is noticeable, but not really terribly bad. The piston on that rifle looks like it should be nicely sturdy, and if you are thinking the front heaviness is coming from a suppressor, then I am guessing, that somehow, it is light for a piston. The quick release fore end that locks your gas setting in place also looks like a reall nice and convenient feature. I would probably be interested in a Grand Power piston rifle, if they made something other than a carbine.
I’ve got a couple of the Wolf T91 piston uppers, it’s definitely a different recoil impulse and even sound then a DI gun, I quite enjoy them because I enjoy AKs, for me if they were to bring this to the US, it would be a consideration on picking one up if the price was right
Hey man, do you know if other handguards (from other piston-systems) might fit? I don't really like the rails on the bottom and a longer handguard for the 14.5" version would be nice. I contacted GPnand they said, that they don't plan to release other handguards.
That carrier reminds me a lot of the LWRC guns for some reason. Frankly that setup looks very well thought out. Only thought I have is how well does that handguard retain zero in-between removals? Because it has to come off when you need to clean the rifle.
I have 3 Sigs, 1 Ruger and 1 PWS piston ARs. I like GPs system as it simple. To me it wouldn't be a big deal at all to remove the handguard. I will have my eye out for this in the US for sure. I would like to know at what price point they will be coming in at as piston ARs tend to run higher in price but well worth it IMO.
I have a pile of DI AR rifles and pistols, never owned an AR piston gun, but that system looks pretty interesting. Aside from the operation of the guns, I like some of the features as stand alone items. The stocks look pretty cool, like a mix of Magpul and Fab Defense. The grip would be nice if it is a rubber overmold type. And the handguard with the "quick disconnect" feature is nice and user friendly even if you didn't need it for the gas adjustment. Are the items exclusive to Grand Power or if they will be sold in the American market as accessories??? Thank you for the sneak peek.
@@GBGuns Thank you for the reply. I will keep an eye out for their products. I watch your videos on firearms I am interested in for honest testing and overview and you do not disappoint, thank you.
I dount we'll ever see these in the US. By the time 922r compliance and import costs set it there wouldn't be much of the original left and it would cost a lot more than US-made options. I do think importing just the uppers could be an option, but again they'll cost more than US options.
Hey awesome videos as always! for the piston version, there are 3 positions for when using a suppressor, which one is the one you need to use? the one that has 1 little notch, 2 little notches, or 3 little notches? Thanks so much!
@@GBGuns Just wanted to share this in case someone is interested. I called today GP, and they confirmed to me that does not really matter which of the three settings you choose, if the rifle skips a round in any mode, you can try the next one. That there is a suppressor mode, does not really mean you have to use it, it depends on the ammo you are using and how much the rifle likes that ammo with your suppressor combination.
For something reason import ARs appeal to me more than domestic ones. The overall quality seems higher and most countries have open supressor laws making it easier for manufacturers to tune. No flying brass or gas when supressed, definitely has DI beat. If the accuracy is great i would consider one, they're typically not as accurate IMO.
You are comparing a DI version with a non flow through supressor vs a piston version with a flow through supressor, of course you will have much less gas with the piston gun. Would have been fum to se the comparison with the same suppressor.
I like the ambi features on it. What kind of charging handle did it have. Was it grand power made or just off the shelf. If it’s like the rest of their products it will function well and be priced decently compared to some of the piston systems I’ve looked at.
It was Grand power, as I understand it they're making essentially every part on these rifles. Quite different from US ARs which are usually a compilation of sourced parts.
@@GBGuns any idea when we might be seeing these here in the states pr was that not even something discussed at the time. Good video as always the information in all your videos is appreciated
You don’t need heritage to build a good AR. The specs have long been available. You don’t need lessons learned at this point. They’ve all been learned and accounted for really.
Man I really gope these become available widespread in the US. The thought of an import AR is super cool and I absolutely love GP products.
After Ukraine we'll get something LoL
Nice review (as usual) and that factory footage at the beginning was awesome. You can just see the attention to detail and craftsmanship in action.

I FRICKIN LOVE THIS. GP just does it differently. 1/8 twist, skeletonized lower, sharkfin, etc.

These are such a tease. Every time a go to scope out the MK23 updates I see these, and they drive me NUTS. I need one.
😮😮 What a fine rifle.. I bet that was so much fun to shoot !
As a Lwrc ic-a5 owner that looks great. Dig the heavy barrel just in case of long strings of fire.
Thanks for the video

We own a few piston rifles and this particular system didn't feel notably heavier or lighter, but we also didn't ahve those with us to compare.

I like my T91 and I'd like to run one of these for awhile too, looks nice.
Does it need the buffer tube as a piston gun or could you get away with a picatinny end cap for a folding stock?
Looks like quality made weapons.
I really hope Grand Power will start producing pistols with a MRDS cut!
They already are, it's just a matter of getting them in the US.
@@GBGuns Alright now I'm excited
Graham really be drip feeding us 😭

The handguard is located with the gas adjustment, so there's not a lot of room for error.
Neat.

Killer!thx
Which flow through can is that and what muzzle device. Thank you.
It was a European-market suppressor I'd never heard of before.
Silencer is "Ase Utra Dual 556 borelock" and muzzle device is "Ase utra Borelock Hiper 5.56"
Well, that's a surprise. I'd like to see the uppers come over by themselves personally.

As far as I know they are all of Grand Power design. I don't know if they'll be available separately in the US.

That piston looks nice, somewhat like my BRN-180. I'd rather have a spring in the receiver though and not need a buffer tube.
nice piston rifle. do you know if they will bring this to US market?
I don't know for sure, importing rifles can be tricky with 922r compliance, but I don't see why they couldn't import the uppers.
All our rifles are piston based., but this far superior any the rifles in the Canadian market. Wonder is the lower compatible with a DI upper?
Yes, the lower is standard AR specs

Unfortunately I do not know, aside from this quick demo in Slovakia I've not seen these guns again.

Nice! Also will they be bringing the mk23 models to the states?
Yes, we just don't know when
I guess the aol chat rooms haven't been a thing in a while...
Maybe they saw you as one of their biggest Grand Power pistols fans, so you were allowed to review this rifle.
Well at least this one is optics ready.
As are the Mk23 pistols

It's a general rule regaardless of suppressor, piston spit less gas in the face than DI.
How do I say I want one without sounding like one of those sorry SOBs who can't afford to play with the big boys?
I was unsubscribed from this channel.... wtf
That seems to be happening a lot lately, also folks aren't getting notifications.
