The beauty of Maala's character is that it's relatable. Personally I cannot relate to perfect heroines. Maala is strong and she has made mistakes which make her human. It's easier for us as readers to judge her because we know the story from all perspectives, but she's the one actually going through that situation. Only the person experiencing it knows how difficult it is for them. As for her conversation with Hilal, she only met her in a dream. How could she have helped her? :) Maala is an empathetic soul and she naturally tilts towards helping people. But she's at her lowest point right now. She helped the Bengali girl too due to her empathetic nature. It was her logical brain that was telling her to leave her and go, and that too because of the mess she was in. As for what u said about her not being smart enough to tell that Ziyad could kidnap her, it was because she didn't perceive how dangerous he could be. Like she knew that he was a murderer but she didn't think that she could be on his receiving end too. Just like Mahir thought that he might not harm Maala because he claimed to love her. Mahir, Birbal and Malik are the only people who know that Ziyaad is a cold-blooded murderer, yet they didn't actively do anything for her, because they all didn't perceive the danger she was in. What happened to her will come as a shock to all of them, and a trauma for her. Also, personally I was so relieved when she decided to come to Canada, and not Pakistan. Firstly, because Pakistan is not a safe country for women trying to find safety so Ziyad could easily get her again. Secondly, coming back to Pakistan means all that toxic relatives comments on a divorced woman and domestic abuse. She will be traumatised after this, so I'm relieved that she'll get a safe space. Though I feel that she might not be able to get into contact with Moeed and Mahi immediately, because both of them are travelling. However, Nemrah already mentioned that there will be a Vancouver chapter and an Istanbul chapter after Lahore and Makkah. And by now we know that the chapter names are according to the city where Maala moves. So iykwim :)

Aslamalkum Rabia. Beautiful review and discussion. Regarding not approaching families when maala went through abuse and everything is very relatable. Yesterday I spoke to my best friend and she told me she got divorced after a violent episode of physical abuse and she was that time in different city away from family and friends. She never contacted to any of her siblings or atleast friend. And once she was handed divorce that when she called her brother. I asked the same question why. Why you never contacted us when you know we would have protect you.she said she wanted to protect all of us from that emotional trauma and some last strings of hope held her to save her marriage. It's so much alike how mala acted.

It is not always easy to tell your parents and family about every situation you are going through. Most importantly, when you know that they cannot do anything for you and are stuck in their own problems as Mahi and Moeed are and ap un ko apni wajha sai paraishaan nahi krna chahtai un ki mental health k lia. I also do so at times. Mai chahti hon k apnai mslai khud hal kron q k un k already apnai masail bohot hain k ap un ko apni wajha sai mazeed koi paraishaani nahi daina chahtai.....
No i wasnot annoyed at Mala when she tells Hilal not to bother her. So when she calls mahi and mueed.....They both are already frustrated and tensed .....whatever the situation is...... So might be ,she do not want to bother them.....and most of the time.....whe you are in extreme trouble.....your family is never ever around you...... And in reality , most of the children are not encouraged in such a way or even they are not so close to the parents ...... That whenever a problem strikes them, that the first thought come across their mind for help was never be their parents and siblings ......

For nameerah Ahmed I want her novels to become movies not dramas cuz they are so mysterious and suspenseful. Also Peer e Kamil is the only novel I never want anybody to ruin it by giving it a visual representation cuz no body NO BODY, can play SALAAR SILANDAR ever pls 😭😭

So when she calls mahi and mueed.....They both are already frustrated and tensed .....whatever the situation is...... So might be ,she do not want to bother them.....and most of the time.....whe you are in extreme trouble.....your family is never ever around you...... And in reality , most of the children are not encouraged in such a way or even they are not so close to the parents ...... That whenever a problem strikes them, that the first thought come across their mind for help was never be their parents and siblings ......
