Having the protection it does, and the foehn wind, Molde itself is really temperate, but its northern latitude means that the surrounding area and the mountains particularly definitely has LOTS of winter. We kind of wish we could be on the Atlantic Road during a massive storms when the waves are crashing up over the big arced bridge. Ok, to be truthful, that's just me (Jennifer) that wants that.
Absolutely stunning. What an awesome drive. Those bridges are indeed a architectural wonder. Thank you for all that information too, such an interesting history. Quite amazing having all those islands connected the way they are- and the magnificent mountain ranges as backdrop. Just stunning. Thanks for sharing your epic journey. 👌🩷🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿
Wow! Amazed to see such spectacular views. The bridge and the landscapes are just amazing. Thank you friend for taking us with you 🙏 Really enjoyed watching 😊
Jenn says she's dying to be on the Atlantic Road when the waves are big enough to go over the bridge. I think if that were really the case, she'd change her mind!
@@welltravelledlife I totally agree with you she will definitely change her mind once she sees the big waves over the bridge. Say Hi to Jenn 👋 for me 😊
Thanks for this. Our cruise changed port stops from Alesund to Molde. We are considering renting a car for the day and driving to Trollstigen to be able to take in all the sites we were originally hoping to see when we booked the cruise.
We were there on a cruise the end of August, and rented a car (picked up the car at the airport - easy and quick). We looked at the places the cruise excursions were going to and decided to head to Bud and most of the places in this video. We had considered going south to Trollstigen and other places tot he south but saw it would involve 2 ferry rides and I was concerned if we missed a ferry. Lots of beautiful places to the north of Molde. Enjoy your day no matter which direction you go.
The Trollstigen is awesome, but it's much more difficult to get to from Molde than it is from Alesund. From Molde, you're going to have to take a ferry and there's a longer drive. And traffic on the Trollstigen can be pretty fierce. Molde is better situated for Bud, and the Atlantic Road. The Atlantic Road is definitely worth seeing, Bud is charming, and if you're looking for a longer drive, you can do the loop that goes to Kristiansund (and includes a 3 mile underwater tunnel) and comes back around to Molde the back way. One day, head back to Alesund. We love that city a lot. We spent quite a bit of time there and have two different videos (one for the Trollstigen and the loop around the back, and one for other areas outside of the city (Giske, Godoya, and another German fortification). ruclips.net/video/DBiyO2zOBm4/видео.htmlsi=MUzB0RM30qm8w3ZL
Hey guys, just found your channel, great tour! Norway is fascinating! I didn't know anything about Molde apart from they had a football team 😂 nice views of the mountains all around and great roads to drive on. I haven't made it to Norway yet but I will one day! Interesting how the buildings have grass growing on the roofs! Good luck with the channel, you're almost at that elusive 1k!
You'll love Norway - it's right up your hiking alley! The earthen roofs provide insulation and are a really traditional building style that we saw all over the country. And we think it's funny that you know the football team because the arena is the biggest thing in town and if you google Molde highlights, it's all football scores and game clips! Thanks for stopping by. That first 1k is a killer!
wow! Beautiful country. This is one of the trips on my list. But first I have to convince my wife to have a beach-free vacation.😄 Fantastic video my friends. Thanks for sharing Cheers 🥂
Head to Norway in the summer. Jenn went wild swimming in those freezing fjord waters. Hmm, that probably won’t convince your wife. But we haven’t found another country with such accessible mountains, waterfalls, views, and clean, green living.
We have decided we could live in the small (but incredibly beautiful!) town of Skjolden. If we were to pick a city, it would probably be Alesund. Where were you living?
Hi, Jonathan & Jennifer Just viewed your piece on Molde: Norway's Hidden Gem. We will be in port during a Princess Cruise on June 27, 2025. We would like to pretty much duplicate your trip with Erik, your taxi driver. Do you have a way that we can get in touch with Erik directly ? I did see a phone number for the Taxi Company on the photo that you took of the taxi, but would sure appreciate a direct method of contact with Erik such as email, cell number and/or WhatsApp.
We really want to thank you. Erik was superb and we wish we could give you better contact info. We will be back in Molde this summer and are trying to connect with him again. If we reach him, we'll be sure and get a more direct number or an e-mail and we'll add it to the description and we'll post it here. Have you watched our videos from Alesund? Knut was our driver there and he was fantastic. If you schedule ahead of time with him, he could probably do a similar trip. His contact info is in the description for both of our Alesund videos because we've worked with multiple times.
Wow was blown away with the views of the mountain tops (extreme)! What a amazing place to see.
222 peaks in one view! Yeah, you called it...EXTREME!
Norway is so beautiful
Abundantly blessed with natural and artificial scenery
We kind of feel like the scenery is totally authentic. Not exactly sure what you consider the artificial scenery to be.
So interesting to learn that those peaks will have snow on them all year round - so beautiful! I also was impressed by the bridges in the video.

It’s more how you feel the atmosphere, must be very refreshing and relaxing
It really is an outdoor paradise!
What a beautiful area with so much to see and do.
It's a small town, but there is a lot to see and do - which is the perfect combination for us.
much to see my friends a great adventure
*thumbs up 👍Au👀full view 💯*
This view is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I hope to see Norway one day. Amazing. LIKE 18. 👍👍👍
We fell in love with Norway. It’s a festival of views, waterfalls, hikes, and green living.
The landscapes are beautiful. I would love to visit Norway one day. 😍
Thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful video.

We love these small Norwegian towns - just like we love small Swiss villages. Thanks so much for the visit to our channel.

Beautiful footage
Thanks for that. We have increased our equipment since we shot this video and we are really wishing we'd had our drone with us while we were here!!!

Most flights are between Oslo-Molde
Good to know. Thanks for that info. We have taken trains and driven, but never flown.
Great trip, enjoyued watching and interesting info...
We prefer small towns. Skjolden was our fav. We’re thinking about heading back there for a long stay.
