In a 04-05 upperdeck black diamond box I got at Walmart back in the day I pulled a lenron auto. Sold it right away and now it is worth like 15x what sold for
In Select its Pink White Teal numbered to 49. I pulled a courtside Giddey from this year. My best retail pull I think was when I pulled last year a 2021 Mosaic Orange Fluorescent Trey Lance 😭😭😭
Yo pacman, this is what im talking about. Finally somebody on youtube doing something like this for retail & not just focus on hobby and breaks. we buy both but this great for those who refuse & cannot afford hobby boxes and etc. Long overdue brother and thanks for sharing to the community 👍
Can't help but feel retail has fallen off a cliff the last 5-10 years... Overproduction of cards makes them not feel as rare and thats especially with retail products.
Not even 5-10 last 3-4 18-19 basketball was great for me prizm had autos. Gravity feed boxes were filled with hits that year I got a luka rookie auto from a 3 dollar Gravity feed pack from target.
@@AnthonyDorney 18-19 was good. But that was because that year was stacked for rookies (for basketball) and stuff like Luka rookies were easy money back then
@@Snickerszn exactly it's going to kill the hobby for young collectors. Because if I was a kid I wouldn't want to collect cards because all the good stuff that's "cheap" is in overpriced boxes.
I would love to see this retail challenge done for Topps products.. from this video, seems like it’s best to buy hobby boxes for Panini rather than retail..
StrykerBreaks does Topps retail very frequently -- often entire cases of product. He also seems to get close to or well beyond his money back a decent amount of the time, maybe 50-70%. Topps retail (which is really just baseball) blows the doors off of Panini basketball retail in terms of potential value, and in terms of variety/entertainment value.
Biggest pull I’ve ever gotten was from a DONRUSS blaster. Got a Mac jones out of this world /10. Sold for $1400. This was whenever everyone was going crazy for him in October/November 2021 so perfect timing. Besides that it’s been a downtown downtown drew brees and a Trevor Lawrence optic preview card. Both those were worth like $200 at the time.
This years retail select looks a lot better. However, retail is rough especially for $30 or more for a blaster. Wouldn’t be so bad if the price matched better to what you can get.
Thanks for doing this video man! Always fun seeing you rip packs. If this tells us anything, it tells that we are for sure in the junk wax area again, at least for retail product. Hope we get through this soon. Ready for the next run!
Best retail pull I have ever had and maybe even including hobby was a Tua RC Kaboom out of a $5 CVS fat pack. I sold it for $800 which is is still good even if I held onto it. I kind of wish I did though as it was a super exciting pull. Thank you for this video. It was a fun video, you are entertaining like always, and it's interesting to see how tough retail is to get anything worthwhile. I feel retail is better for more niche genres of the hobby like UFC and WWE.
I like the assortment you chose. The only thing I’d like to see though would be some football mixed in. Like optic for downtown and absolute for kaboom.
Oof, fun rip none the less used to hunt for retail but just not worth it now… maybe a Optic Football Downtown hunt to see how long it takes to pull that. Thanks Packman!
Pulled Trevor Lawrence Zebra RC out of blaster/ Ant Man RC Auto orange out of mosaic hanger/ 3 downtowns: Big Ben- Josh Allen-and Hutchinson from blasters/ Ant Man and Melo silver prizm rc out of mega/ Rod Carew Beisbol superfractor (1in 770,000 pack odds😮)of topps chrome blaster./ 2 pink optic rc Justin Herbert s stuck together in one pack/ Frank Thomas Donruss Elite and Michael Jordan stadium club 1st day issue out of a pack. Retail has been good to me over the years ✌🏼💯
I break on Whatnot thanks to you. The last two 21-22 select NBA blasters that I’ve opened for other people, I pulled a Josh Giddey tiger stripe and a Jayson Tatum gold to 10. Josh Giddey we sent in the PSA, and it came back a gem 10, which he sold for $1100. So kind of funny you pulled the Boston Celtics out of 10 and one of your other big hit was a Josh Giddey rookie out of fanatics.
Let’s all take a beat here…retail keeps the hobby affordable for the younger collectors and the parents who are asked to purchase cards for said young collectors and sports fans…I used to bag groceries just to run to the vending machine and buy $1 packs of Fleer, Upper Deck, etc. If you want a guarantee, hit the secondary market, but keep in mind other collectors who just want a thrill and are the ones hitting up the supermarket
For whatever reason, Panini retail football is way better than their basketball retail. If I am ripping retail it’s either Panini football (Optic, Mosaic, and Select are good), or Topps baseball. I stopped buying Panini retail basketball because of how bad it has gotten, which is why it’s always available to buy. If you do a retail challenge again it should be Panini football or Topps baseball. Either should be better than basketball!
My best pull out of A LOT of retail blasters was a Select Concourse numbered Teal/White/Pink Prizm 14/49 of Paolo. Retail is so hard to pull anything of value these days.
I once hit a LeBron prizm 75th anniversary blue diamond out of a blaster. This was back when 2021 prizm was new and it was about a $150 card, sold it for $120 and glad I did because it's like a $30 card now
Brutal. We all know you don’t like the smart trade and that’s your big pull. 🙏 I think getting big hits out of retail basically ended in 18-19, for me anyway.
Big hits, I'm a say like 3-7 decent hits. Looked to drop a stack locally but the big races here in Daytona this weekend, so were bone dry in retail. I pulled that same Paolo napkin, but it was with Jaden Ivey in a damaged discounted box and the cards were actually fine but man when it rains it pours. 🤣
As a Chargers fan, the Herb was the highlight then the Rivers auto was a nice cherry on top. For a minute i thoughr thw Herb everyone was talkin about was the Sheesh lol.
Random single box of 2021-22 Select Blaster box just by itself misplaced with all the other boxes, so I decided to buy it. And got a one of one Youthful Explosion Auto of Greg Brown. Not the biggest name, but still very cook. And got a Lamelo Ball rookie script orange auto, from a hanger mosaic box at Walmart as well. Sent it to PSA and came back a PSA 10. Got offered 2k for it, but turned it down. Wish I sold it at the time back in 2021.
I feel like Panini heavily front loaded the Donruss packs. When they released I bought a couple and pulled a Pink Lazer Holo Lebron Bomb Squad to /50 that I sold raw on ebay auctions for $205 back in April. It sucked me in so I'd buy a couple packs anytime I was in a Target and haven't gotten a damn thing since.
I called 3 when you started but to spend $1,000 on retail and have it be that bad is just painful. They have watered down retail so much while jacking prices up its not fun anymore. I used to be able to rip a lot with my kids but once covid hit and everything went nuts it doesn't really make much sense anymore. I'd rather buy lesser expensive hobby boxes instead of 5 or 10 blasters.
Hi there, Thanks for the interesting rip and thank you for such a wonderful array of packs. I personally have pulled two really big hits from retail and dozens of lesser hits. Have a great weekend and enjoy the business. Much love bro, Peter
Biggest retail pull- 2002 Donruss Classics baseball $20 blaster from Walmart: Classic Combos Ruth/Cobb dual bat card /15. Still have it. Wonder what the odds were on that and why it was even in retail.
I pulled a Trae Young silver auto rc out of a prizm retail box. Sent it to psa, and it got a 10. I sold it for $3500 during the craze. The box only cost $88. That was alright, I guess 😂
Ive pulled quite a few..I pulled a Jamaar Chase #s insert sp zebra, submitted to all card databases and still havent seen another yet, pulled in july..Also bought 1 mega select 22-23 basketball and pulled a MarJon BeauChamp elephant 😂 super nice hit for low and its gorgeously centered,Same with the jamarr..ive had quite a few nice hits.

i pulled a cj stroud /100 blue and white squares prizm that im happy about from retail select 22-23. have had a couple of good hits from my other retail boxes but overall yeah not great
Retail is really rough. I stopped ripping retail and just buy singles now. The best retail hit I had was Ja’Marr Chase downtown that graded as psa 10. Traded it along with other cards for 2000 UD Kobe rpa ❤
Best retail pull maybe (2021 goodwin champions Michael Jordan all world teal /25. At the time raw was doing like $425, ) (last week i pulled a topps 2023 Kodai Senga All Aces gold /75 from a mega same box Shohei smlbc and Shohei all aces , adley favorite sons, rainbow foil arron nola, judge sign. Statistics, Michael harris blue, soto hrc card. Not the best but i made more than my money back. ) (Oh and a month ago i pulled a green pulsar /25 from a prizm basketball blaster. ) ( jalen green t minus 123 /149)
I’ve had a lot of good retail pulls but the overall best was because of grading and that would be a 19-20 Mosaic Lebron James green mosaic BGS 10 Black Label.
My best retail pull was a Topps holiday Tatis auto /50 or an select elephant print Davion Mitchell rookie. Posted on FB, tulsa sports cards and memorabilia.
I'm a retail select master...amateur that is 😂. I have found a few of the signature series and one of the rookie autograph sticker autographs. My biggest hit was a Jalen Duren Gold Flash rookie 1 out of 10. Extremely jealous of that Larry Bird bro LOL keep up the great videos
That was ruff, not one auto kind of hard to take. C- grade for all packs except Donruss D-. the anticipation of the name of the game but some much blue, no numbered just a wash.
bummer man ever since mid 21' retail has been so tough I do mostly baseball thank god so it isn't quit as bad as panini but you have to keep trying. Topps chrome retail is fire also.
My biggest retail hit was out of a 2018 Target prizm mega box, Josh Allen Pink Prizm RC Auto, got it graded and came back a PSA 10. The only retail I buy is bowman baseball now. All other sports are a complete waste. Ever since after 2018, retail has been shot to sh*t.
Best pull from retail was a clearance 2018 absolute football hanger box I pulled a Travis kelce kaboom. Best pack was a 2020 prizm football hanger box pulled a Tua base, h erbert negative and green justin jefferson
I have to agree with one of your commenters if I feel the same way trying to pull something out of retail you really have to buy $1,000 worth of stuff to get one or two cards that's crazy
How many big hits have you pulled from retail boxes??? 🤔🔥

Trey lance to cowboys

Kevin Durant Courtside tiger 20-21.
Also I never hit from target boxes for some reason only Walmart
The "biggest" hits were 3 $20 cards and a $15 card out of $1k spent. Retail needs to stay on the shelf.
Its been staying on the shelf been seeing donruss, select, prizm etc all over retail stores. Maybe buy a box or 2 when they get reduced to 20 a box
Yeah all over the shelves in Pittsburgh. I went to buy a select blaster at Walmart and was 34.99 plus tax what a joke.
@@AnthonyDorneythat’s what I do just for fun🎉
The BEST retail product in the last 4 years was the monopoly blasters. Only thing you consistently get numbered cards out of.

Thanks!
I pulled a Trae Young silver auto rc out of a prizm retail box. Sent it to psa, and it got a 10. I sold it for $3500 during the craze. The box only cost $88. That was alright, I guess 😂
Big W!
The Paolo/Chet is like around $20. Not close to making the $1000 back, but if it is from a blaster than you almost made the money back.😊
I've pulled multiple 1/1's and Zebras from Select retail over the last year or so. I hardly buy any but have always done really well when I do!
My best pulls outta retail would be Bron checkerboard and Jerry West /75
That was rough but that's retail. I'd love to see a retail baseball
Congrats!!! 🔥
Yeah you can still pull big in retail. My brother and one of his friends pulled a 1/1 CJ Stroud color burst type card out an absolute blaster😂
I am 45 years old and I can remember tops and donruss actual having good hits in the packs and you didn't have these other packs they offered with special odds because they know people are going to pay for cardboard in todays age is nuts I just don't understand why people got on that bad wagon because now you have packs that cost thousands of dollars that normal people can't afford.
And back then you would have a Guarantee on at least one card per box which is what you did buy the box to get those hits, which I still have my old cards when Michal Jordan was a rookie.
i pulled a cj stroud /100 blue and white squares prizm that im happy about from retail select 22-23. have had a couple of good hits from my other retail boxes but overall yeah not great
Pulled a 1/1 Keegan Murray rookie stallions from a contenders blaster box. Prob will be craziest pull from retail I will ever get.
Crazy pull! 🔥
Packman is crazy lol he does anything for the hobby. He spent 1,000$ on retail 😂😂
You mean his parents spent $1,000
My biggest retail pull wax probably a Gold Altman rookie
Thanks for all the content man, shootz!

Baseball is head and shoulders above basketball when it comes to retail
Yes they do exist. Green/White/Purple /49. I have that wiggins only numbered
Got lucky and pulled a second year jalen green select numbers Gold our of a mega. Epic day!
Damn! All those packs but not even 1 autograph card pulled.
My best card I’ve ever pulled from retail was a 2023 Luka Doncic Prizm Green Pulsar /25 that graded a 10
🔥🔥🔥
Retail is really rough. I stopped ripping retail and just buy singles now. The best retail hit I had was Ja’Marr Chase downtown that graded as psa 10. Traded it along with other cards for 2000 UD Kobe rpa ❤

Not the best but i made more than my money back. ) (Oh and a month ago i pulled a green pulsar /25 from a prizm basketball blaster. ) ( jalen green t minus 123 /149)

🔥😮
I’ve had a lot of good retail pulls but the overall best was because of grading and that would be a 19-20 Mosaic Lebron James green mosaic BGS 10 Black Label.
I love the Monopoly set and I wish it wasn't so expensive.
Sup packman saw you spending 12k on cards wondering what app you use to scan your cards ?
Pulled a Kobe Winner Stays Gold /10 from 18-19 Optic blaster.
I can already tell this videos gonna be fire
My best retail pull was a Topps holiday Tatis auto /50 or an select elephant print Davion Mitchell rookie. Posted on FB, tulsa sports cards and memorabilia.
You need to do a Retail Boxes video of NFL cards!
Where do we buy the cards you pulled?
Love the retail vids
They need to put downtowns in donruss and optic basketball.
Do this with football products, being able to chase downtowns from optic/donruss and kabooms from absolute would be sick
Great vid you need to do tops chrome 2022 platinum they are 🔥🔥 just like this video
That was ruff, not one auto kind of hard to take. C- grade for all packs except Donruss D-. the anticipation of the name of the game but some much blue, no numbered just a wash.
My best retail pull was an Oshae Brissett Apprentice rookie auto lol.
the best retail pull is a Stephen curry jersey card from prism 21 to 22 year I went crazy. It is worth a 100 dollars.
🔥🔥🔥
I pulled a Jaden Springer one of one from a retail Select hanger pack. Black, white, and gold.
Retail hoops is brutal, it's collecting dust on my shelves you can find 3 years of prizm 😂
Open $1000 worth of topps chrome. More baseball in general on the channel, Panini makes me sad

Congrats! 🔥
