This was one of the smartest reaction videos I’ve ever seen! You nailed all the themes and were right on top of every direction the movie took. You even used the phrase “Never Enough” to describe Barnum’s insatiable drive seconds before the movie hit with Jenny Lind’s Never Enough solo, LOL! Although I think the look on PT’s face as Jenny began singing was because he had never actually heard her sing a single note prior to that performance and he had (once again) gambled his reputation and a great deal of money of her being good, so when she was INCREDIBLE, he was beside himself knowing the gamble paid off in spades and also moved his show into acceptance by even the “high brow” audience he was courting so hard. By the way, I think the song you were trying to place was “A Million Dreams” which was covered by Pink as a single about a year after the musical premiered in the theater. Cheers!
Thank you! I try to find a balance between silly and thoughtful, sometimes it goes one way or the other depending on the movie (and probably how caffeinated I am 😂). Hugh Jackman did a lot with that character, he’s very skilled
the songs are sooo gooood. i was shocked to find out that the redhead wasn't singing "never enough". Watching the real artist sing it live gave me goosebumps
Ikr? I never knew it wasn’t her til Loren came on BGT and “revealed” herself. It was awesome, cuz even the judges didn’t know it was dubbed and she actually sang it. I assume u saw it. She got the Golden Buzzer, of course
Yeah there is a couple of songs from this movie that have made it to radio play so that is probably how you heard that song originally. I'm with you though. I'm a big fan of musical theater and so when this came out and it was just a musical with no stage or Broadway history and became popular I put it off because I was like 'the fact this is getting main stream love proves that it's not a true musical caliber movie'. But then when I finally gave in and watched it years later I finished it wand I was like 'How did I not watch this sooner. I love it' I believe that first week after I watched it, I watched it 2 or 3 more times and it's still one of my favorite movies. I especially love when I see people reacting to it for the first time because I feel like in a small sense it allows me to relive that first experience again through their eyes.
That’s the best part of reactions for me, and a big reason I wanted to do it! Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you find more here that you enjoy 😊
We all get those days where everything just seems to be going wrong. Self care is so important, sometimes movies like this can bring everything into sharp focus. Also, you're not alone with ear buds, I can't use them. They are very uncomfortable to me and actually cause pain and headaches. I have to use over the head ones.
I got a different pc, and the Bluetooth doesn’t work right so I can’t use them anymore. You can see in my more recent videos I’m using over the head and I much prefer it 😂
another aspect people dont know behind the bad of burhnam is that he gained that money needing personality from a dark place worse than this film shows he wasnt an only child when his dad died while he was 12 he had several younger brothers and sisters which he as a child began to provide for conning people snd his money schemes was how he suported his siblings without any osrents it became who he was a man willing do anything for money for his family and later for himself
@@RhetoricalThrill the film alters alot like avoiding that he brought a blind blask slave and claimed she 160 to get people pat to see her then when she died got people to pay to see her autopsy Or his abuse of elephants , or that he married a woman 40 years younger than him after his first wife died i think she was in her 20s while he was like 60 The film decided focus on the good of what he did creating a comunity for the outcasts even if he was just after money it was still an outcome of his work Other changes are things like burhnam was mostky the fave of the circus so he would never stepped down he was a preformer he didnt manage the circus as he had no copacity for logistics or education he was just a very charismatic man while james bailey was a genius manager who ran many circuses I do think his siblings would of added Alot to his character while other things they removed were more stuff that show his worst side his siblings showed the best of him and would added more understanding to him as a complicated person
My ear canals are too small. I can't wear ear buds. Been told I have "Surfer's Ear", which happens when you spend a lot of time surfing. I did about 60 years ago.
@@RhetoricalThrill If you haven't watched it since it came out, I would really recommend giving it another try. But I understand, I struggle when stuff is overhyped.
Burham and baileys relationship is pretty acurate Buhnam sad a con artist and a showman he was charismatic and able sell u a show but baileys was the manager nthe one who ran the money deemed one the greatest logistical geniuses in circus history he ran many circuses and his dad was also a circus manager which is difernt to the film but james was basicly the brains of the operation

Personally, I think it's a matter of lack of exposure/experience. It feels awkward and strange because it's unfamiliar, but once you get exposed enough to it, it doesn't feel strange anymore. I feel like that's the reason that so many people today dislike musicals. It's not that there's anything wrong with the medium, it's just that people aren't as exposed to it anymore, and aren't open-minded enough about them. I mean, several hundred years ago, theatre and opera were equivalent to what movies and tv are today. It wasn't as widespread, obviously, I just mean that it was universal, and people didn't find it weird or cringe the way they do now. It just goes to show how significant an effect culture and upbringing have on what you like and dislike.
I can't wear earbuds either, I hate them! They just hurt my ears. I have a whole collection of earphone adapters since they took them out of the iphones awhile back. Bastards, they only did it to sell their shitty earbuds. Sorry for the language, but you seem like the kinda gal who doesn't mind lol.

The music in this is just top tier! 🤗
I went to the circus a lot when I was a kid, and this movie just brought back so many good childhood memories. 🥰
A* music!
Fun fact, the actress in the movie who sang never enough is not the same vocal person who put their words of the song. Check out AG tea.
"This is Me" is a major song in the LGBTQ community. I know it can work for many groups of people, just speaking as a member of that community 💓❤🧡💛💚💙💜

That’s a really interesting part of his life and contributes to his actions and mindset. I wonder why they left that out.
