With Toptal - you are actually an "employee" of the platform - not a freelancer. So, think about that.

As someone who went through the Toptal interview process, can confirm that everything said here was 100% accurate. I decide to turn it down because to that take home project. That is where I had to draw the line. By that time I was already exhausted from the timed code tests. Personally I think that Toptal has been hyped into oblivion.

No… it’s a scam if they ask for security fees….
They are asking to pay $50 first as security fee...

They are asking me to pay $50 dollars security fee. I ask them what is my guarantee that they will pay me after I pay them the amount for security fee but they answered me indirectly. I am a bit hesitant to pay because I am not sure if I am transacting with the right person especially that we are talking in telegram.

Hi l was work with toptal after the job they ask me to pay fee for money transfer to my bank account also they require security fee to start the job is this correct toptal procedure?
If a client is asking you to pay them a fee, it's a scam.
