That GP mental health skit is so spot on. Except that she didn't prescribe pills as the first option.
No mate, that comes with the home visit after. GP just prescribed pat in the back and will refer you to local social services that deals in mental health.
@@liammacaodha4783 I was lucky. Got diagnosed by my GP just before lockdown and they must have seen it all coming as they sent me off to get pills. Made that year survivable I can tell you.
It's so true and so funny
@@liammacaodha4783 Not here in NEW NORMAL Zealand. My GP kept trying to get me on Prozac. Local mental health services wanted me on all sorts of other drugs. I repeatedly said no. They heard 'I don't want any help.' The cause of my depression had been a lifetime of gaslighting and abuse from my family. Now I'm asking for help from wider society I'm getting gaslit and abused for not just cheering up and being a good little normal mainstream media guzzling slavery endorsing consumer.
@@MrRicehardAre you adopted by any chance? 😂
Mental health GP absolutely spot on!!! 😂
Even down to the tuts and that crazy smile! 🤣
The mental health GP had me dying! she was so on point😂
Anybody who still expects GP's to have any medical worthiness, hasn't seen one in the last decade!! Lol they're useless I can get better medical care from a Google search!
100%spot on
Yep, I was just about to comment the same. Mental health support on NHS can be so shit at times.
I went to therapy once to help me with my anxiety attacks and the therapist rather than just casually discussing stuff seemed to be trying to trigger me to have an attack. 😣
Its the same in The netherlands, with those people xD
shut up
With the GP skit, I've never seen anything so accurate. The fake 'aww' sad noises. The absolutely useless advice. Being told there's nothing else they can do for you. Only inaccuracy is that I've never even been given a leaflet.
That Dr mental health one hit a bit too close to home 😂
The bit when she said he was clean shaven hit me,i was thinking, yeah you don't want people to know you're depressed so you'll shave to hid the reality.
I think everyone who has spoken to the Doctors about depression, has left with a prescription of "Go for a walk" 😂
L
Yep, problem is unless depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in which case medication might work, it's so far as I am aware caused by environmental factors. Doubt a GP has a treatment for unattainable house prices, skyrocketing inflation, cost of living crisis, "news" full of Angy misinformed mouthpieces, a government that can't run a bath and working with nobends
No not everyone.
Prescription of 'Read this leaflet and go to a large group talking therapy'
@@solidsnakesimulation666 american moment.
why is the feeling of water against your wellies so accurate? 😂
because he was in a river while wearing wellies
Oh that mental health GP consultation was horribly accurate 😅😭
Seriously? I mean, mental health care sucks everywhere. But that was genuinely atrocious, like she was barely pretending to care... actually it was obvious she didn't. And then only 10 (!?!?!?) visits with an psychologist or psychiatrist? I watch this YT channel, Coffeehouse Crime, an American born, but English raised and based gentleman that does true crime... and now I understand why, when he does cases in UK, these people didn't get the mental health help they needed. Raoul Moat asked for help, and he never got it.
Now, I use to hear the NHS was amazing. Brits raved about it, and Americans familiar with it. But now I hear it's awful? What happened? Did the Tories do this to the NHS?
@@FLQueerLiberal1982 oh the NHS is great in many ways but in a lot of places it falls flat in terms of mental health. Myself personally, I've had to get help through charities like MIND as well as paying for private therapists.
@@FLQueerLiberal1982the area I live has an above average s####de rate in the entire UK. The mental health services are non existent unless you're schizophrenic or bi polar
@FLQueerLiberal1982 It was six the last time I tried. I had 3 sessions of 6 over the years then saved up enough to go private. and its counselling not psych. It's not that good!
@@FLQueerLiberal1982 ten is top end. No matter what. Including for CSA survivors such as myself. 2 years of trauma dealt with over 10 hours max? Never going to work.
The skit on the mental health with the GP is so bloody spot on! 😅
6:33 the guy was absolutely running for his life, dropping the shopping bags 😂
HE NEEDS TO FIRM IT
@@twymandt😂
To everyone who's saying the GP clip is accurate, it's really not. The fact they got a face to face appointment or even an appointment in general is entirely implausible.
😅😅😅😅
The mental health doctor skit is just the average doctors appointment these days! 10 minutes 1 subject 0 help and your done! And that’s if your one of the lucky ones who can actually get one!
Mental health GP got the patronising down to a 'tea'!!! 😂
Ring the numbers in the leaflet? "Have a cup of tea." 😕
Counselling? "Have a cup of tea." 😡
Ring the crisis team out of sheer frustration? "Did you try having a cup of tea?" 😠
mental health is made up
3:48 Tragically, the GP appointment for mental health "joke" in the UK is completely accurate. Sadly, all the follow-ups and referrals are just as absurd. The NHS is woefully inadequate and underfunded in this area, not to mention every other area. 😞
And I do not understand the underfunding, we were going to get 350 million pounds a week extra spent on the NHS when we left the EU 🤔
@@alfnoakes392 illegal immigrants entering our country adds to the population but 0 more staff employed.
Makes sense.
@@alfnoakes392hahahaha that was just to bullshit you into making the wrong decision!
The GP was absolutely perfect. She got it down to a T!
When I was suffering from depression, my GP was the exact opposite of this one. She saved my life!
the gp skit scares me at how accurate it is
I love how everyone's talking about the GP mental health skit. It's just true. Also seeing so many comments talking about it makes you feel less alone knowing that other people are going to their GP for mental health stuff as well
Slow week in British memes
The GP mental health one was so spot-on it hurt
when you realize how crazy everyone watching youtube is from reading all the comments relating to the GP skit lol
That GP sketch was scary accurate.
Thank you for yet another hilarious collection! The GP clip was so accurate, by the way.
The gp one got my back up it was too true! What an accurate take off.
I think the only thing missing from the doctor's appointment is them putting you on antidepressants, without any warning of the side effects, and the fact that you probably will struggle greatly coming off them, or it will be borderline not possible. When you try you'll feel 10x worse for months/years than the time before you started...
Yep
Antidepressants saved my life and my life around. Despite the side-effects.
The side-effects are clearly stated in the leaflet that come with each box.
Mental health pills are an interesting one: your mileage may vary.
@@pqlasmdhryeiw8 That's great.
Sure, but they're typically prescribed far too casually without a little warning.
They should be an absolute last resort. I've seen people be in bad ways and recover without them. They're not some magic pill.
Like how Louis' steroid taking friend has been totally eclipsed by the GP skit. That guy is incredibly good at getting the truth out of people.
6:35 "You can't park there, sir."
The GP Mental Health one was just too real.....
The mental health one is the same way here in the states. Our mental health system is an absolute joke.
Guy in the wellies, spitting facts and living his best life ❤
"you're alloooooowed too" - i aspire to be as chilled and care free as this man.
In the GP one she forgot to ask if you’ve tried doing yoga
GP but is fcuking legend. Only thing missing is the pointless visit from social.
I'm crying laughing at the one crisp in the prawn & cocktail packet!
3:50 - 6:31 Too bloody accurate, they DGAF it seems
the CBT & cup of tea too
Me "well yeah i've got a really bad pain in my lower back"
Doctor "and what would you like me to do about it?"
Me "well your fucking job would be a good start"
directly after the long sketch is the most replayed which suggests that the GP sketch was the most skipped.
3:47 that's true the GP mental health sucks they don't help for shit
That is a very representable GP appointment. Anyone who's had anxiety and depression has had that appointment
Man that GP skit was hard to watch it was so spot on.
Imagine having to run from a car that's rolling. 😂
everyone saying the mental health bit is spot on, meanwhile it's the most skipped section of the video
Now the Doctor's appointment meme she had down perfectly, that was literally my last Doctors appointment about 2yrs ago which as they know if they bothered to look at my records has been the same since 12yrs old (37yrs ago). That's one of the only times I've LMAO about the Doctor's definatly took me away from my depressed life watching that. The same as the past few days got red up with only seeing American video's so typed in 'Funny British Compilations' now I'm on #60. Quintessentially British For Sure.
That GP one omg flashbacks
After having taken a overdose last week and being discharged. I went to my GP for the first time. It was almost identical to that skit.
Naaaaah that gp bit is too real
Love these bloody funny bloody videos
6:43 If she did that to me, we'd be having a massive row.
That's definitely a joke bag of crisps
That mental health bit is too real hahah
5:07 That is *precisely* that first line therapists are like XD The first person you see for assessment is usually not a therapist, they're just a regular doctor with weirdly good bedside manner who is just there to assess you so they can put you on to the appropriate therapist for your symptoms XD
I'd been struggling for years as a teen (bullying made me feel like giving up). When i turned 17 (13 years ago) i went to see my doctor to get help. They refused to refer me for therapy and wouldn't put me on antidepressants as i was "too young"
I have massive anger at the accuracy of this 3:48
the GP skit is too realistic! ive lost all respect for GPs since i found out that the reason there were so many deaths during covid in the UK is that doctors union made a deal with the government to not treat anyone with covid during the pandemic. basically anyone that had covid could not get any treatment, so you either recovered or you got so ill you would have to be hospitalised, by which point is was too late to have any effective treatment if you were older or weaker.
The doctors patronising POV was pants and way too long.
The rest was awesone as per usual
As a schizophrenic I’ve had this same convo with go on so many occasions. It’s ridiculous
That 'mental healthgirl ' knows less than nothing about the system she is mocking. She doesn't understand mental health, she's clueless, and that fact that some of you are fawning over her ridiculous skit only serves to prove the idea that most people don't understand mental health in any meaninful way.
I came here for memes, not a Black Mirror episode! 😏
6:33 he will have to go back to do his shopping now
2:40 Nan firmed it tbf
those crisps said 45% less salt because theres only one bloody crisp
A lot of people seem to have had some bad GPs, glad I've been lucky. Psychiatrists on the other hand...
3:14 they will start doing that soon lol. the prices going up
5:24 this was hilarious and 100% accurate 😂😅
dude! that mentl health skit hit home lol
John should have went off and ended that marriage....
Tap oan the shooder, classic.
Everyone who’s saying the GP one is correct needs to change their GP.
Been to six in five years, all the same. At this point, I've given up on the medical side and am just trying things like my local art clubs Imao
Goodluck with that
The GP sounding like my mams cat
That car flip is so unlikely it looks like a Bollywood blooper 😯
It is a pity it got overshadowed by the preceeding pretend-GP one. Cars do flip surprisingly easily, SUVs and raised utes (with the big low pressure tyres) are the best at it rather than the one shown. Used to work in a Rehab Unit, and we got pretty good at predicting the vehicle-class from the injury profile (formentioned types are likely to cause traumatic brain injuries secondary to vehicle rolling).
Bubbles didn't help? Aww.
10 sessions???...........i only got 6..........i feel ripped off
Wait! Is THAT guy he's interviewing the same guy from Australia's Today Show interview? The guy that chased down the dxckhead that drove the car into mate's mom's shop? The guy in his jockeys... I swear that's him, but younger. Voice, cadence, everything.
why my man John is wearing his work ID while at home ? :))
I was waiting have you tried going to the gym getting some exercise lmao
3:40 kkkkkkkkkk, that is such a fake laugh.
6:00 she's a future new comedy actress. Last one Haha Lee's face 😅
Which one of these compilations has the those two women in the pub where one of them sticks her fingers in the others drink? Anyone know what I’m talking about?
As her brother I'd have been concerned if she'd broken her leg or something.
I remember I just tried to kill myself and the crisis team told me to look at flowers and listen to classical music 🙃 and I'm just sitting in the ambulance like yeah thank mate never thought of that my depression is cured
Why don’t smith’s Australia do prawn cocktail chips
Maybe it’s because your chip bags are too small ?
i don't know but you are missing out
Lee = Eric, from Tim & Eric?
You did us wrong with that completely useless GP one taking up 90% of the whole video.
The GP part is triggering. Although I would add that they are very likely to prescribe some kind of pills, like sertraline or diazepam. And you know what? Good: there's nothing wrong taking pills for your mental health. No pill-shaming.
In the case of both of those pills you mentioned, definitely not good. Diazepam is dangerously addictive. It should only be given in the most incredibly small prescriptions and only in very specific cases. And sertraline is a truly nasty drug that I and everyone else I know who's taken it only got SO much worse from it. Seriously, sertraline should just be done away with entirely. That shit turned me into an absolute wreck when I was already struggling. And I don't know a single person who has taken it and said good things of it. I agree completely with the sentiment of your comment though.
Indians sound welsh when they speak English haha
Er, I think she’s learnt that on purpose! Nice selling technique etc. It used to be just saying ‘lovely jubbly’ so times have moved on obviously
