Lovely car. It would be interesting to have some comparison videos to other sports and touring cars of the day. The Bugatti Type 35, Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, etc. Or even the later 15/98 2 litre. Really I would just to love to hear some comparisons between these legendary prewar cars. Thank you for sharing.

We need a racing series where you have to drive between road courses around europe. Then run sprint races at each track. Parts and mechanic ride along, no support vehicles, the cars may only be touched by people riding the whole distance in the cars. Trailers allowed. And the cars have to be legal everywhere they are driven.

My late Grandfather restored a '31 and '32 Buick (startlingly different cars!) and I was lucky enough to drive both; but it's truly amazing this Aston is from the exact same time period. Whenever I see an older racecar, my mind usually turns to thoughts of flogging it hard around the track. This one, though? For whatever reason, no, maybe because it seems like a dignified "old gent" of a car. A lightly spirited drive, perhaps, while marveling at the sheer chutzpah of racers from those bygone eras going flat out.

Excellent episode. Shows the merit of frequent oil changes. I am reading your AM (Made in Britain) book, which also is excellent. Thanks for effectively explaining why Ian Flemming put an extra "Chitty" in front of the name of Count Zborowski's racing car, for his (IF) children's story car. So glad that "Jerry" did not find Mr Brown's factory at Meltham. Why do so many interesting car companies (AM, TVR, Lotus, Bentley, Lagonda...) go bust?

Same age as my two-seater Morris Minor. These are my favourite Aston-Martins. You can't get a more raw driving experience than something from the vintage-era. That steering wheel has far too much movement in the rim for me though. The little Morris has a solid wheel and I prefer that on the bendy bits.
