At 1:27 you can see he was bringing all the wind from his soul for that forceful note

Bruh....this joint here.
I like this!!
Man Brian head and shoulders over our other arrangers.
su was playing this in the 80s when it came out half time vs jsu game
Let’s not forget that JSU blew this in ‘04 nice the jukes pulled this out. Of course the tuba part is my favorite.
If I'm not mistaken the jukes played this in 1986 it's on RUclips I believe
Viveca SU fan 4 life Good for them 👍🏾
@@jheht2000 OK!!!
about 86 or 87, MLK Parade. John Mac vs The Aug. after that slaughter I was hooked on the band
I love it 🔥
Dope
Brain is from new orleans so he wrote alot of new orleans high school classics for Da U to play like torture and walking in the rain
I bet this has to be a marching song.
PLEASE DO !!!!!!
People are commenting like this is the first time SU has ever played this song. Help me understand.
@dickie504 For some of us, it may be our first time hearing them play this song. After college, I have not followed them as I should have.
@@theresap.3305 Understandable, but people are commenting as if Southern was inspired by other bands (highschool or college) to finally play this song. It was initially played in 1986, the footage is on RUclips. Maybe I'm just old.
@@dickie504stop they never played this
@@soneworleans ruclips.net/video/1AH2WrKRHmc/видео.html 6:15 seconds
More importantly then the arrangement is the execution of it...you can have a great arrangement and terrible execution but i must say both was on point here
I was in the band room with my uncle
damn the air must be off
This shitttt isss nnniiiccceeee
Cold busted
1:29...son doing too much 😂😂😂
you’re actually wrong.. he’s pushing in real life.

🔥
🔥🔥💪🏾
St. Aug marching 100 back in the day
Tee Tee The Aug had the trombone solo at the beginning. Then the rest of the band came in!!
@Good guy here Man on a mission
Today, many bands practice precision drilling. But Hampton did it first and the best, says Isaac Greggs, who for 34 years has been the acclaimed band director at Southern University. "I am a precision genius," Greggs says, "but I got into it because I saw St. Augustine."
@Good guy here Man on a mission Either you are being sarcastic?
Or you don't know the real history right?
Ask any older ex Juke how many drills, how many shows SU did in the 1970s- 1990s that were done FIRST @2600!!
The very 1st Bayou Classic, 1974,Tulane University Stadium; featured a St.Aug drill.
@Good guy here Man on a mission really the copy and paste saved too much of the article!
Like Dr.said Hampton did it first, Hamp did it the best!!
GREGGS regularly went to see Hampton's practice and games!
Period!
Put your bias aside, take your blinders off!
Lol
Until Hamp died they talked daily!
GREGGS got fieldshow ideas from Hamp!!!
Ask anyone who marched in Scotlandville from 1970-1996!!
We all have ties to the HBCU in La.
It's only band people from the last 20-25 years in TOTAL Denial!!
Debate?? Why??
The very 1st Bayou Classic, GREGGS copied a HAMPTON drill from an earlier St.Aug football game!!
FACTS ARE JUST THAT FACTS!!!
@Good guy here Man on a mission You don't believe that GARBAGE yourself!!
I had a relative marching the Very first GREGGS bands!
Was attending games since 1971!!!
Know people who marched until Katrina!!!
Get out here with that "INSIDER NONSENSE "!! LOL
Who lied to you?
The same asst bd' S that NEVER could handle NOLA bands especially AUG (pre 2005) when they had high school bands then the HS allstars????
Ask them where they were when GREGGS was in NOLA learning, BECAUSE NONE OF THEM WERE PRECISION DRILLING!!
Bout time some REAL SHIT
The btone at da end glissing
Fortier 2002
Sousaphone🤩🤩
Btones hitting that double tounge in the beginning
Alguém do Brasil que sonha um dia tocar nessa banda?
Being SU band room would blow your mind
I was Once part of Su in my younger days I played Tuba and had a full ride Scholarship. I transferred for JSU which was the Sonic Boom of the South to Southern the Human Jukebox. It was a great experience.✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Who version is Fortier playing because this definitely ain’t it? Is this a Brian original?
This MF got some damn drive to it boi 🔥🔥🔥
Inguinorancia
90s StAug?
@ADRIAN WATKINS Or Course!Thank for the reply
McDonogh Rahloh The Aug Shit is and forever will be a Classic.
Easton C/O 90
Good guy here Man on a mission well, first off, it wasn’t a comparison I made. And secondly, I went to Warren Easton, which I did post. Thirdly, in my opinion, I prefer the St. Augs Arrangement. Again, that comment wasn’t a comparison, but my opinion only
@@jrobair72 Hey Jo Ro!I mean somebody needs to carry on that New Orleans tradition, none of the NO bands can anymore.RIP Watkins St Augustines arranger.Tho Ray arranged "I wanna know"!
@Good guy here Man on a mission I didn't go to St.Aug,this might sound crazy, but St Augustine's band of the 70s,80s and early 90s would take every HBCU with the exception of Southern and Jstate and as far as the musicianship it would be about what and what.Serious.
Hell NAH!!!! Leave this to the Storm!
😂bye you parasite Why give your energy to being jealous of another band.
This is one of the best arrangements. New Orleans bands have a great arrangement of it as well. PV's arrangements nor Jackson State version cant compare.
Didn't Su just demolished pv Saturday why u wasn't in the comments section then nothing pv play is better than SU we already established that now troll your ass on I wouldn't even say pv name after SOUTHERN embarrassed the hell out of them JS
DA storm not the only one who played this hell txsu played it in the 80s
SU doesn't have to blast this song inside the band room because the sound is bouncing off the walls not giving you a true sound.
you really can't hear all of the instruments but the brass horns.
I've always thought that playing inside should be more balanced,
meaning this is when you should hear more woodwinds.
Playing this outside is a different story.
Joey Scott see that’s where you are wrong. The band room was made to absorb the sound. There are sound dampeners everywhere. Do you see the wood paneling up top? There is a special foam made just for that. The sound doesn’t bounce around. If you speak to any true wind musician they will tell you that you get true sound by being in a smaller room. You can literally hear everything.
@@BHN96
This is not a recording studio. lol
You make it sound like I hate SU. This is my favorite band.
I just like to hear all the instruments sometime rather brass all the time
I would like to see SU with a bigger woodwind section, the sound would be absolutely different.
@@BHN96
No you're wrong.
Everyone doesn't always hear the same thing.
When I see people look like they're blowing there lungs out, that's not good because SU band is big enough to not have people blast.
Like I said outside is a different story, I can see them blasting walking in the rain.
You missed my whole point. It’s cool though. Peace and blessings.
@@BHN96
Peace and blessing to you
and your family.
PVAMU only 😂 this band goofy
U wish
You definitely don’t know much about “this band” lmao
Southern always copying DA AUG

QUEEZY Q I went to Da Aug and March at SU but song selection goes hand in hand some of those songs SU and Aug played at the same time or one of em had it before the other
Dude shut up dam st aug is a got dam high school stop with that foolishness and I love the purple night but SU copy no one including a HS band it's funny u come on SU video talking about a HS did you not read the title it's band room CHRONICLES if anything HS imitates and influence by college bands like SU including NOLA bands
Creole Nola Mix St. Aug is a high school on a collegiate level and southern did copy st aug especially after they battled southern in 1990
QUEEZY Q college level 🤨idk
@@pdoodieiv dude ass much as I like st Aug they not on a college level I'm not quite sure what u listen to but what I heard latley it's more like HSL not college level JS
The Purple did it first. It's nice to see a college band copying off the baddest high school in the land.
