5:55 A small and unimportant inaccuracy - nether 'From Me to You'' or ' She Loves You' are on the 'Please Please Me' album. Very few of their singles were on the albums which they released, They remembered that, when they were kids, they always felt ripped off at having to buy the same song twice.
And that's why I contend he's the fifth Beatles. Brian Epstein may have been their manager and was the one that got them signed, but it was George Martin who helped them develop as musicians, challenge them musically, And more importantly allowed them to experiment.
One of their last live performances was in Memphis on August 19, 1966- 10 days before their final one at Candlestick. My mother took my big sister and me- it was my first concert ever. I was 9 years old. There were bomb threats, the Memphis city council tried to ban them from coming- there were people in the venue parking lot burning Beatle records in big heavy metal cans, and the Ku Klux Klan in their white robes and pointed hats stood in a line blocking the entrance doors. Police got them moved and the show went on, though it was paused for 45 minutes when someone in the balcony behind and above Ringo dropped a lit cherry bomb that bounced off a drum and exploded between John, Paul, and George. All 3 later said they thought one of them had been shot. John said in an interview some years after that Memphis solidified their decision to stop touring. I’m surprised this documentary didn’t mention this awful incident. It’s well documented in videos and articles. Crazy shit, but I’m glad I got to see them, though the girls screaming, including my sister, made it almost impossible to hear the band.
Let it be was filmed at Twickenham studios. End of the road I grew up down. And my first job was next door to the studios.Had to walk through them to get lunch.Used to walk past that sound stage everyday for a year.
That's nice, but the documentary you really need to see is "How the Beatles Changed the World." (It's on RUclips, and you really should watch it.) Because they changed SO MUCH MORE than just music.
No, you're confusing something. From the LP Please please me, 2 of these 5 tracks, Twist and shout and Please please me, were placed in the US charts. The other tracks were She loves you, Can't buy me love, I want to hold your hand. A few songs like Boys or A Taste of honey were not released as singles either. One month later, Love me do made it to number 1. According to the Wikipedia ranking, Queen is in 6th place.
Stuart Sutcliff won 65 pound prize for a work of art he did and submitted it to a contest. .and Lennon and the rest of them convinced to buy a bass guitar with it. For months he didn't really know how to play, hitting random notes, turning his back on the audience so they could not see he didn't know how to play,. Eventually he learned to play it somewhat, but not very well. Sutcliff left the band but stayed in Germany with his girlfriend Astrid Kirchner who was into photography, and you see some of the photos she took of the band in this video. Sutcliff died of brain hemorrhage on April 10, 1962. Spooky, but 8 years to the day later on April 10, 1970 is the day Paul announced his first solo album release and was cornered by the press into saying the Beatles were finished in so many words.
There’s also a video called “why did the Beatles break up” which sheds light on their break up, if you’re interested. But it’s time now to dive deep into their discography, you could start from their debut album and go from there. It’s crazy how much they changed in only 7years. Psychedelic Beatles are my favourite Beatles.
Not many bands have even one legendary song writer, The Beatles had 3, and even Ringo wrote a few hits. So many types of sounds we took for granted with rock and pop music was pioneered by them. Definitely the most influential and copied artists ever.
The Righteous Brothers, before their fame, were one of the opening acts on the 1964 USA Beatles tour. Watch Hard Days Night and Help, you'll get a kick uot of those movies.
I remember we boys stopped playing army in the neighborhood so we could go in to watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. My sister bought Hold Your Hand and Eight Days a Week, which we danced to constantly in the living room.
i remember when the Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan we all sat in front of the black n white tv eating "Jiffy" pop corn , the next day at school we were all fighting over who wanted to be Paul , Ringo , John ,George..soon we were all wearing Beatle boots along with Beatle hair cuts. though they sounded better and became more creative with drugs..
We walked out of seeing A Hard Day’s Night wanting to be John or Paul or George or Ringo. I’d never been so hyped up in my life. My parents weren’t too jacked up over the idea of letting our hair grow out, though. And so began my lifelong bromance with the greatest band of all time.
If you want to see/hear how they changed music react to the video of the top songs of each month in the 1960s and you will see clearly what was going on in the early 60s. Music was different before they came along (although the Beatles were influenced by 50 artists such as Boddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Little Richard)
Oh nice. This is definitely better than the mojo video. It still boggles my mind that they did all this in just 7 years. I wasn’t even close to being alive when they were around and I feel the impact. I am also amazed that they are still the biggest selling music act of all time as I type this comment. To put in perspective, they have sold more than any top artist in any country at present time and it’s said that likely no one will ever surpass their sales. They are simply to far ahead. I love your reaction Princess
Pretty much everything. The Beatles ever did was really great. But if you are playing more of their stuff like you have recently I think you should give Yesterday a try. You heard on the video that it is the most covered song in history.
@ItsPrincess- Thanks for doing this. Great stuff. I knew mosts of all this but I have been a huge fan for a long time. Please react to there song Yesterday. This was one of the greatest Beatle songs ever and it was done by Paul.
This narrator is only talking about the American versions of The Beatles albums. The UK versions are considered canon. The American versions from Capitol records were chopped up and put out for cash grabs. The UK versions were released the way they were meant to be heard. Canon albums: Please Please Me With The Beatles A Hard Day's Night Beatles For Sale Help! Rubber Soul Revolver Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Magical Mystery Tour ( the only American album that is considered canon) The Beatles (White Album) Yellow Submarine Abbey Road Let It Be
Love your reaction. This is a far more informative video than the Mojo one, that you reacted to previously. Still waiting on your reaction to the medley section of Abbey Road.
Awwwww.Sleepy head. Try out 'Girl' next.An early song, but timeless. And talking of sleepy heads, try 'I'm only sleeping.'Apparently John loved his sleep.
That's a pretty good history.... a few odd mistakes.. for example, the song "We Can Work It Out" isn't on "Rubber Soul", but was released as a single... but basically full of good information... one thing it doesn't mention that you might find interesting, because you found it interesting that so many UK record companies turned down the Beatles... is that Capital Records, the American subsidiary of the Beatles' UK record company, initially declined to release their first records in the USA because they didn't think they would be popular.. and so the first few Beatles singles were released in the USA on different labels... so in several instances, the Beatles were rejected by people whose very job it was to spot talent!!!! important to keep in mind next time someone claims to be an "expert" in something. They mention the fact that in Canada, the USA's "The Beatles' Second Album" was called "Long Tall Sally"... "Long Tall Sally" was my family's first Beatles album, and I still have it, and it still sounds great!! One of the great songs on it is called "Please Mister Postman", which is a cover, and my suggestion for your next Beatles reaction.
It looks to me like she is messaging on her phone, I can hear a noise like she is doing something on a desk in front of her. I don't know. It seems like she is not watching or hearing what is said, unfortunately.
If you decide to react to Yesterday, please listen to the official audio from the Help album. The live versions out there have poor audio quality and it diminishes the experience in opinion.
This is just how dumb it got I an a fiend in 64 went to all state chorus. We had the Liverpool accent down. Got to girl to believe we were from Liverpool and live just a few block form Paul's Ma. Ya we go lu
this video contains a lot of factual errors. it isn't quite accurate but its ok for a very general, although not totally true, history of the fab four.
I’m sorry, girl. But I cannot watch reactors who are watching their phones. It’s like trying to have a conversation with somebody who won’t stop looking down at their phone.
This reaction is a joke 😂 if you’re going to react to a video at least look interested, she didn’t even really react to them refusing the play to a segregated crowd. That says a lot.
Enjoyed your reaction. I feel like you were really being thoughtful and taking in all the info. Happy to have found your channel.

and thus another Beatlemaniac is born!! welcome to the tribe, sweet beautiful Princess!!!! it´s so good to see young faces!!!

@@Ken_Dodds_Tickling_Stick Thank you. Ah, Doddy! I can't boast that was a true fan, but I loved the man's dedication to pure silliness.

The Beatles weren't just about popular impact they were involved in social impact!
I saw The Beatles on tv on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964.

Of those 10 songs they recorded in one day for their debut, ALL 10 songs were on the top 100, and 5 were the top 5 all at the same time.
second place for sales is Queen, 312 million units sold. The Beatles are triple #2.
