You can also buy 3rd party filters which are two to three times cheaper. The real ones look better but I'm not sure I can tell a difference.
Exactly, I have a 3rd party filter on mine now and it has lasted as long as the official ones so far.

If you buy 3rd party filters, you are basically buying an entirely different air purifier. The technology is in the filter. Without the filter, you just have a fan.

I am looking for a air purifier to plug to a smart socket on Zigbee and Home Assistant. In order to work, I would need to switch it on and off remotely by switching on and off the socket remotely.
When you use this air purifier do you have to press the switch on and off button on the top all the times?
If you get the blue pure 311, 311+ or 411, depending on the size of your space, they all connect to wifi and the blueair app. This eliminates the need for a smart socket. And everything is controlled, like on/off, fan speed, and even a schedule, on the app. Big plus, you can monitor your air quality and filter life through the app as well.

Yes it is the regular without WiFi.
You said it has 3 settings but it actually has 4. The one you missed is the first setting, AUTO. I love it, thinking about getting a second one.
