- Abia To Get Seaport As Otti Performs Ground Breaking Ceremony.
Abia Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has announced plans to establish a seaport in the state.
The project which will be located in Owazza, Ụkwa East LGA Abia state .
The governor made this announcement at the ongoing South-East Security Summit in Owerri, Imo state.
He also announced that the flag off of the seaport will be done together with the Abia industrial and innovation park, located on over 1,000 hectares of land. It would host multiple layers of businesses including modular refineries and petrochemical and fertiliser plants.
He also revealed several other chains of enterprises that would take advantage of the oil and gas deposits in Ukwa, nearness to Aba and Port Harcourt cities.

So happy all these is happening in Nigeria, particularly in the SE and live in Abia. I have always said that while the SE people maybe be justified to call for session, they need more of the economic power which will command the needed political power to be heard and respected not only in Nigeria but internationally. The SE Nigerians have all it takes to be a “power region” and I am grateful to God that this dream seem to be coming through.
Now, there may be enemies not happy with the development in Abia that is why the whole of SE should rise up and follow suit in such landmark developments. Onitcha,Enugu , Owerri , Abakalliki all have possible much more potentials than that which is obtainable in Abia , there it is time for SE to collectively rise up, secure the region and become who God ordained them to be .

You don't know what you are talking about, this project was initiated during Orji Uzor Kalu and continued under ikpeazụ but they couldn't implement it because of corruption.
