I recently changed my hubs. I picked up pregreased hubs. After I added some grease I had some grease come out the back. Did I not get the castle nut tight enough to seat the hub?
The seals go bad causing grease to leak out of the hub. If the bearings in the hub don't have grease they get hot and burn which in turn can lead to the wheel falling off. Once I had one of my trailer tires roll past me in traffic! NOT GOOD! LOL! I look on the back of the rims every time I use the trailer to make sure none of the grease is coming out of the seals, also I check to see if the hubs are hot. If I notice either I will change the hub or at least the seals and bearings.
Bearing Buddies are spring loaded and they push grease into the hub. With bearing buddies you can put a lot more grease in your hub which will last longer. The potential downside to them is that the pressure that they put on the seals could blow them out. The people at the trailer shop that I go to told me the regular caps with the rubber insert are better. To fill them with grease all you do is use a screwdriver to pop the seal out and fill the hub through the grease gun fitting on the end of the spindle. Hope this helps.
You are very good at making videos. Very interesting.
Thanks!

Either that or the wrong size seal.
I’ve seen times when if you put too much grease you could blow the seals out. Especially if you have bearing buddies
It's the kind that the grease goes through the spindle.
Great video! Thanks for the help!👍
Why and when would I change the hub??

@@thadeusragan ah. Thank you!
What's the difference between your cap and a bearing buddy?

literally blew a wheel bearing out on sunday on way home from Lake Erie. Doing this now lol
Joe Farkas Never fun. LOL!
This happens way too often. Good luck. LOL!
Not much worse than stuck on the highway when you. Could be home or on the lake. Preferably fishing.
