- Liverpool and Juventus were draw together in 2005, for the first time since the tragic incident at the Heysel stadium in 1985.
In the first leg Liverpool won 2-1. Capello and his Juventus team were confident going into the game, but faced an 11 man Liverpool defence who offered up few chances for the Italians.
In the build up to both games the clubs tried to reconcile their differences, but some Italians refused to forgive the incidents of 20 years before.
The Italian police has to use tear gas before the game after some of the Juventus fans turned to violence outside the ground as the away fans arrived by bus.
Inside the ground the hardcore fans in the Curva Sud displayed banners and sang songs against the Liverpool players and fans. In the Curva Nord, adjacent to the Liverpool fans, things were more violent. Fans threw flares, seats and missiles into the Liverpool section.
The game ended 0-0 and Liverpool progressed to a semi final with Chelsea and then onto the famous comeback final against AC Milan...
One of liverpool's best ever away results in their european history......it was no surprise getting the reception we got in turin by the juve fans...l can easily still understand their anger at the liverpool fans for that fatal day in brussells at heysel 20 years previously...Even at 4:26...juve fans put up a banner taunting the liverpool fans about the hillsborough disaster in 1989....lf the lfc players spotted that which they might have done...Then that would've only motivated the lfc team to get a result in turin.....and it was another fantastic night en route to that magical night in istanbul 2005....RIP 39 AND 97
DEL PIERO AND GERRARD!! BIGGEST LEGENDS EVER!!
Have to go down as one of Liverpool all time great European results. To travel to Turin with only a 2 - 1 lead from 1st leg and come away with a 0 - 0 draw against one the Europe's best team despite hostile atmosphere and no Steven Gerrard was nothing short of amazing.
Finally something about the game. Dudek was immense in this one, so was Carra.
AMICIZIA
Juventus x Liverpool
Respect & Friendship
No respect, stop lying.
Juventus and liverpool never friend english animal
Darby Lemon -- I know you posted this over 2 years ago but... what are you talking about? Liverpool has apologised and offered a hand in friendship many times. As one example, look at the first leg of the 2005 QF at anfield. The Liverpool fans unfurled a huge banner and had a whole presentation as a tribute to the victims.
No respect and we will not ever forget 1985 -39
No friendship
Forza la juve, Respect liverpool.......lets forget about the past shall we, and move on.
Fuck Liverpool
@@marcoraimondi4083 As a Liverpool fan I'm saddened that the club didn't take more responsibility for what happened. The stadium WAS inadequate, the segregation WAS poor, but ultimately it was the scum minority of our own fans who were responsible for the deaths of those Juve fans. Their families must hate our club in the same way that we hate those reponsible for the cover up at Hillsborough, and who can blame them? But also you HAVE to remember this was a minority of Liverpools fans. This was a small part of our fans who are utter morons. And these hooligans existed at all clubs in the 80s. MANY clubs had a problem with violent hooligans. But dont say "Fuck Liverpool". EVERY club has a minority of morons.
Quella Juve era piú forte del Liverpool, ma venne eliminata per colpa della mentalitá catenacciare e prudente di Capello...aveva troppa paura di prendere gol...
thats just sad by the juve fans for putting up that Hillsborough signI I mean a real human would not promote death of innocents and they call liverpool fans animals and i know it was fucked up what happened in heysely but those innocent fans had no part in it.
stadio del alpi beautiful !
Il magico Delle Alpi!
+ivanjuventino I loved the Delle Alpi. Fantasic stadium on a big European night. The new Juventus stadium is too small.
Me too..

Im a Juventus fans, yes they killed our fans, but they had apologize made a tribute about it, what past is past, lets move on Forza la Juve!!! respect liverpool
assahar vios wasnt just our fans there was fans from everton man utd leeds etc because use had stabbed their fans previous years 👍🏼
@@nikreece6295 oh yeah blame the stadium
Buddy there are scumbags on both sides, let's not forget in the 80s and early 90s about English hooligans to, however Italian fans are bad these days.
@@MrRodzilla Sorry but did you not see the state of the heysel stadium before and after the tragic events?....And another thing....Why were both our supporters put right next to each other in the same part of the stadium?
@@nikreece6295 they must have assumed that liverpool fans wouldnt try to kill people
What about del piero's disallowed goal.. there was nothing wrong with it

I live in Karachi Pakistan I like your comments thanks
Game was fixed by uefa like in 1985 but this for Liverpool
Bel video..quanti ricordi
Good job, man. Why didn't you get more after-the-game street video?
Must’ve been some good kick ins outside the ground after
Che atmosfera al delle Alpi..!
Juventus need a bigger stadium than their new stadium. 40,000 isn't big enough for Juve.
The Delle Alpi had 67,000 and was full for the biggest matches and looked fantastic.
nut the visibility was completely poor
childish behaviour from some so-called Juventus and Liverpool fans in this thread. I have been a fan of Liverpool since 1977 (nine years old). I watched the Heisel drama on tv.
it is now almost 29 years ago. Most nowadays Liverpool fans weren't even born in 1985. And why can't someone be a fan of a club from which so called fans (hooligans) murdered 39 people? It were hooligans. Hooliganism has nothing to with football. I do not see the connection between hooligans and a football club. Hooligans are scum of the earth. Please enjoy soccer. I love to see Liverpool facing Juve next CL-season
yet you want us to remember Hillsborough?? fuck off
Joe Heffernan Your reaction proves your childish bahaviour. How old are you? Also i did not ask you to remember Hillsborough. Also 25 years ago
Imagine if Belgians listened to LFC before the match on Heysel? Imagine the stadium not being an old ruin, not overcrowded, imagine Juve fans not being in the neutral section of the stands provoking Liverpool's fans. This was what Peter Robinson warned the Belgians before the tie and what was done? Absolutely nothing. In Rome in 84 the Italians sweeped by on scooters and slashed and stabbed Liverpool's fans, a 13 year old boy recieved over 200 stitches on his face and everyone acts as if this was solely Liverpool's fault. Hooligans were a big part of football in 70's and 80's. I'm not saying Liverpool fans had nothing to do with it, but the fact is they were violently attacked in Rome a year before, and provoked in Heysel before they attacked. Who might have known that the walls would collapse? Juve fans had knives and a gun on that match (some say a starter gun), what did they need that for? The match was a disaster from the beginning, and yeah, Liverpool fans deserve a fair share of guilt for what happened. But Juve hooligans weren't completely innocent, and the biggest screw-up came from Belgian FA and police. The fact that LFC and Juve didn't want to hold the match after that, and the Belgians insisted shows the real nature of their motives. Remember the 39, remember the 96, honour their memory and learn from what happened. At least Liverpool took responsibility, they did everything they could to show Italians that what happened was a terrible thing and certainly not wanted by anyone. In the morning after Heysel, Italina restaurants all over Liverpool had flowers placed on their doorsteps as a sign of sadness. Who do you think put those there? That bitch Thatcher? No, it was the Liverpoolians, same people who were waiting for their children, husbands, fathers and friends to return from Heysel. They had the character to take the responsibility of what was arguably their fault, and that's to be respected even if you're not a Liverpool fan.
Unlike Mancs fans who like to sing songs about winning the EC/CL three times without killing someone, but they love to forget the names of Crystal Palace, Spurs, Middlesbrough fans who were stabbed, beaten with bricks and so on...
Arnold you are a soft puff who knows nowt. Go away and eat a sandwich you weak bitch
Mwahahahahya Aguna A please replace your dipers they're full of shit and it stinks. Maybe you should ask your mother to do it. . You also love fighting sports. Why am i not suprised
Of course it wasn't EVERY Liverpool fan, that's pathetic and not what I was implying. But, the tainted few ruined Liverpool's reputation, and peace between the two clubs, which is why offering peace is a disgrace. If I was a Juventus fan I would have turned my back on it too.
Alla Juventus sarebbe bastato vincere per 1 - 0 per qualificarsi alle Semifinali della Champions League della stagione 2004 - 2005.

and went on to win the final.....
Was actually in the away end that day
So was I with three other nutters....must have been fucking mad.....
I’m very surprised no scouser was stabbed that day, must’ve been the as hostile atmosphere as u can get
Funnily enough, 3 friends & I were. The end where that little coward with his face covered was throwing the plastic seats they'd ripped off the concrete, right in front of the stewards who did nothing. He was about 50 feet to our left & both me & my 3 other scouse mates, have NEVER been so quiet for 90 minutes. Only 8 away tickets were bought in the UK. 4 were accounted for by Italians residing in England, the other 4 they had NO idea were bought my me who lived & still lives in Liverpool. It actually made an article in the Daily Express. At least that big man throwing seats got his photo on the front of the Gazetto dello Sport the following morning but was clearly that hard that he couldn't show his face in case he got removed from the imbeciles care home he must have lived in.
con gente come Ibrahimovic, Del Piero, Nedved non capisco come c.... abbiamo fatto a non fare un misero gol ... partita che mi sta ancora sullo stomaco a distanza di ormai 20 anni
I remember that match. Juve was too confident, too arrogant and too calm, like if they were sure, that they can score in any minute. 80 minutes of doing nothing, and then they realized that 10 minutes have left, they tried to do something, but it didn't happen. Without any doubt Juve was much stronger and a better team than Liverpool that was only under construction back then. But, Rafa Benitez knew how to play against a better team and Capello was too arrogant. Even at Anfield, when Cannavaro made it 1:2, Juve had the ball, possession and after the conceded goal Liverpool was stressing out. Juve perfectly could go for a 2:2, but I don't know why, the whole second half, they only thought about maintaining 1:2, like they were sure, that at Delle Alpi they can EASILY make it 1:0. 19 years have passed. Regards from Azerbaijan.
@@aydneskipara Hello friend from Azerbaijan, I fully agree with what you say, the reasons were those you indicated.

It's football a game played by thugs and watched by many thugs. Go to any match and witness the behaviour of players and fans, go to a little league game and witness the behaviour of the parents. See how many players are arrested for drunk driving, rape etc

Juve is a superb club with a lot of history. But let's not focus on the teenagers who are behaving like trolls on this vid.
l'm a liverpool fan, and i vividly remember seeing those terriible scenes on BBC tv as a seven year old in 1985...l of cource too young to understand...l'm now 45...and to this day...l still do feel embarased to be english born due to our sub-culture that has of cource now spread across europe with other european clubs.....but reading about now between the lines....the heysel stadium was a crumbling, dump of a stadium...and in fact a week before the game was to take place in brusells...it turned out that both liverpool and juventus officials strongly objected to UEFA that they should move the game to the bernenbeau stadium in madrid or even the camp nou in barcelona...why did UEFA ignore the warning signs that were already there...Although LFC fans that fateful day at heysel must take a huge part of the blame for what happened...Sorry but the people running UEFA and the Belgian FA have blood on their hands for gross neglecgence too....
No? If it was family I wouldn't be on RUclips complaining I would be in the press. My comments are still applicable, even if it is a sensitive subject for many.
Why should the Juve fans forgive the Liverpool fans? You KILLED their fans. Absolute disgrace that you would even offer 'peace' - Liverpool disgraced the country through Heysel and continue to disgrace it with how it has defended Luis Suarez's racism.
So happy Everton finished above them.
Now you're happy, where is everton,we lost our fans too in Hillsborough, if Juventus don't want peace, ok we can understand what they lost, but if you're not a Juventus fan why you are so enraged?
So England should never forgive Italy for the second world war then
@@hod2116 england must apologize to the whole world for their colonial racist inhuman past on that basis

The irony of your post, I am disrespectful but it is you who is defending the Liverpool fans. The rest of your post is illogical; England has a hooligan reputation, because of a few, Liverpool are tarnished, because of a few. P.s. It is you who needs to grow up with the name calling.
I can sit here and rant all day about this, but winning an Internet argument is pointless and to no benefit to either of us.
