- Waylon Jennings & the Waymore Blues Band, “Waymore's Blues”, from Never Say Die: The Final Concert Film, Nashville, Jan. '00
Listen to Waylon Jennings: WaylonJennings...
Waylon Jennings played his last major concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in January 2000. Backed by the all-star Waymore Blues Band (“the band I always wanted,” he later recalled) along with his wife Jessi Colter and guests John Anderson, Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry, Waylon delivered a moving, exhilarating performance, revisiting his greatest songs one last time.

Lyrics:
Well, I woke up this mornin', it was drizzlin' rain
Around the curve come a passenger train
Heard somebody yodel and a hobo moan
Jimmy he's dead, he's been a long time gone
Been a long time gone, a long time gone
If you want to get to heaven, gotta d-i-e
You gotta put on your coat and t-i-e
want to get the rabbit out of the l-o-g
You gotta make a cold motion like d-o-g
Like d-o-g, like d-o-g, yeah
Well, I got a good woman, what's the matter with me?
What makes me want to love every woman I see?
I was trifling when I met her now I'm trifling again
And every woman she sees looks like the place I came in
Looks like the place I came in place I came in
I got my name painted on my shirt
I ain't no ordinary dude
I don't have to work
I don't have to work

Like Johnny Cash, Waylon isn’t county he’s got his own genre it’s Waylon Jennings. He came down from the heavens and played country music and rock n roll.

AllStar Band for sure. RIP Waylon!!!
I was not lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, but almost (born 01/21/1973).
What I heard of music was totally involuntary when I was a kid. You heard whatever was on the radio in someone else's car. So I missed out on some stuff, evidentally. I'm so glad I found this because the fans should not be just the people who remember it.
As a matter of fact, I might make what my children hear of music be totally involuntary too sometimes. Mandatory requirement. Because this sht should not be skipped or forgotten.
Thank you!

this is just absolutely awesome!
I don't know if it was this concert or another one where he was sitting down and he stated that he can still kick ass you just got to come up here now to do it if you can find that one I would love it
It was indeed in this last concert where Waylon said that. But he said it in between two songs and those comments he made in the concert were left out here in these VEVO tracks,
Yes, Todd. It is at the end of 'Good Hearted Woman'. Waylon was so extremely gifted and intelligent. He definitely gave his family, friends and fans such a true gift. A gift that is priceless and unending (thanks to audio & video recording).
Thats good hearted woman I believe

I heard of all the singers that sang with Waylon on this project this the only one Waylon told the producers not to change anything.. no overdubs ! Says a lot about John Anderson I’d say .
💖💕❤💞
RIP Hoss....your missed on Navajo Rez.
That’s funny I lived in Kayenta in the 70’s listen to Waylon all the time moe bandy all of them ❤️
A place I came in...
Country man
Along with Waylon
Killer ❤️
Miss ya HOSS
Boogiedy boogiedy boogiedy!
👌💥❤
John Anderson is the only one Waylon on that album that he didn't have to redo the song cause it was just like Waylon wanted it few more singers called back in to redo the songs over John Anderson was the perfect one for that song.
Just imagine that Nicole Kidman has WAYLON jennings guitar 👍🙏💯
I've watched a lot of the videos from this particular 'concert'. Am I the only one that thinks Waylon wasn't actually playing his guitar? Regardless, we lost a Great Man...so many of the Greats are leaving...Waylon, Merle, Glen...the list goes on and on.....sigh
❤ WJ
ST. Anderson
Show them what a banjo string on a guitar is for, yeah! Lucifer oO ( listening )
Make some noise up there, show them how it's done! Lucifer oO ( listening )
Furry Lewis sang this song in 1969 at the Memphis blues festival, 5-6 years before Waylon and aka Curtis Buck wrote it....
Way before 1969 Furry Lewis recorded two different versions of Kassie (Casey) Jones, and Waylon took a verse from each for Waymore's Blues.
