- These are all my video clips from the Changing of the Guard ceremony I showed in my vlog yesterday. I didn't film straight through (I occasionally reset the camera or rest my arms for a bit) but you'll get to see basically everything that took place in 4k.

Because there's such a stereotype of the British Household units being 'Christmas Decoration' soldiers - such ignorance on the part of tourists in London.

@@Stamsite111 No, Prussia was far from the only kingdom to wear such uniforms or goose step. They were common to many militaries at one time & a few still exist. The one-time great Swedish Empire predates the rise of Brandenburg, later called Prussia. And later still known as the German Empire under William I.

Playing an instrument while managing a horse is a skill in itself.
It was a splendid performance but I do feel sorry for the horses in the mounted band having that music blaring in their ears. 😢

Sorry to tell you this changing of the Swedish Guards remind me strongly of the time 1930-1945 the helmets,boots and walking of the Kaiser Wilhelm and NAZI times walking thru our streets during the occupation, the movements and strict order everything to destroy and murder what was their liking. Sweden in the last days of the war came by planes throwing boxes full of ready to eat bread after the rodents we ate to end this as positive.

Well many swedish are proud of our military past, and rain does not scare us. As a matter of a fact the mounted military only excist because of donations.

Well, swedish royal life guard are much older than Kaiser Wilhelm and Otto von Bismarck. In fact it is the worlds oldest military regiment.

The four gray sky horses that the trumpeters ride are of the Czech breed AltKladruber from the town of Kladruber in the Czech Republic. The ponies are of the British Shire breed and the other horses are Swedish warm blood.

Totally agree, very irritating.
Probably a lack of conscripts. When i did this in 2005 there were 4 platoons and every one of them was arranged by height.
For everyone s safety they prioritize being able to control the horses before same height. And women are more frequently being skilled horseback riders than men and women are fewer as conscripts.

Their military drill looks like a parody of old prussian drill! Their mounted band albeit very in tune, looks very rigid. All is at a walk. Not even a trot. The music has this prussian feel and yet it registers this teutonic bourgeois "hum-pa-pa". It feels they move at a walk so they don't risk falling off . Feels more like a 19th century bourgeois take of how a mounted military band should be like on a sunday.

In una cerimonia di cambio della guardia a palazzo per decenza sarebbe opportuna una maggiore uniformità delle altezze. Le uniformi sono belle ma questi buffi soldati sembrano pupazzi raccattati come capita . Se i vostri veri soldati somigliano a questi farete una brutta fine nella guerra mondiale che spero avvenga presto . Era meglio per voi se rimanevate neutrali .

På samma sätt som du råder oss så vore det bättre för ditt land om Italien var neutralt. Framförallt i WWII, så snabbt som ni gav upp och övergav tyskarna. Hela världen såg Italien kapitulera och svika sina allierade medan Tyskarna krigade vidare, Italien är nu känt för att ge upp och kapitulera. Ridicola!!
