Rewatching all of the makings and Junhong is such a good dongsaeng (I would say little bro but I feel like the Korean culture of having a "dongsaeng" is more of a platonic politeness while little brother in English is more of a playful entity that brings joy though politeness isn't required) to Yongguk. ;~~; My favorite relationship within all the groups I've seen is definitely Yongguk and Junhong's dongsaeng-hyung relationship. Like Junhong doesn't do it to be cute (like many of the youngests in groups) but rather just out of concern for Yongguk and Yongguk's proud smile when Junhong does something or says something has me dying every time. ;ooo; Bless the Banglo brothership.
B.A.P really has the power to make you appreciate the things like mv filming involved with kpop. Watching them be so excited and in awe over the site made me feel really impressed and happy for them. It didn't even really hit me until I saw the look in their eyes (especially baby Zelo) or heard it in their voice about how much they were overwhelmed by the location and getting to film with all the extras. They made it feel like this really amazing big thing. It was exciting just to think about, even more so when Yongguk was talking and just like.. wow. This is a real thing that came from his mind. Like WOW, ya know? And just thinking about how they filmed one of Yongguk's song at an abandoned theatre just fit so much. It's a bit hard to explain lol, but it was nice to see this video and experience the hype with them, even tho I'm watching it late. Ugh, still, so much love for this group. They make everything about the world feel amazing tbh.
I remember when last year they announced their comeback for badman being filmed on Detroit. I was so scared for their lives lol Seeing this video made me even more scared, but in the end it turned out great and they came back in one piece lol
Danaii White well Detroit does not hold the title of the safest city. And also those old buildings looked run down and anything could happen. But i loved that they chose to do this. It cane out well right? Haha
Look at them, at McNamara, literally 20 minutes from my house...and no fans or anything. No one knew who they were. I didn't know kpop existed. So many regrets right now...
Such fearless people tbh everyone just went to there and filmed omg I could see even from my computer how dangerous just standing there would be let alone lip syncing for BAP! *thumbs up*
I just want to thank whoever styled the extras bc my husband was in this video (white shoulder pads, sunglasses, hat, scarf) and I loved looking in the background for him like Where’s Waldo lol. This experience is what made him a kpop fan!
They're all so happyyyy sighs it's such a pity Korea doesn't understand Badman :-( And filming Badman seems to be such a costly process from their clothes to the filming sites and all the men they recruited. And it's so moving when Zelo says it's like a dream come true to him, so does Yongguk here, when he says 'worldwide BAP'. Man, I really wanna see them do hiphopppp TT They're most carefree in that.
Watching them freestyle on that platform just makes me feel they really have some hiphop roots afterall they looked totally cool omg!! I wanna see them do hiphop again~~~
Didn't know Youngguk had this weird goofy side to him.. I'm new to the fandom and discovered them during wake me up era, and I can see how different everyone behaves now from then. Seems like they were so much happier and carefree in this era. I wish they're still happy today. /:
I just watched a documentary about old places around the world and they showed the ruins in Detroit. They were also in this theater and I was like: wait. You know that place!
I just realized, thats my dream job! To be filmed in a cool video and sing in the music and practice my skills for all that! Zelo, as we have the same birthday, we have the same dream.
this is how you know none of the American groups would have ever filmed in such a dangerous location--too much liability! and the scene where YG is at the end of the "cliff" without anything on the bottom to spot him...smh..this is so TS ent. they don't care if the boys get injured
After watching it once, I didn't like the original mv. For the first time, I saw African Americans featuring heavily in a K-Pop video and instead of doing something like Step or some other inventive, innovative movement or dancing, they were presented as criminals. I heard Bang YongGuk say in an interview that the song was a sort of pleading to criminals to stop their criminal behaviour. Unfortunately, the REAL criminals that are behind all the petty (in comparison) street crime are the corporate heads who use tax loopholes to avoid paying tax (moving the tax burden to the middle-income earners) and who move jobs from places like Detroit, to other countries where they can exploit workers because of a lack of proper labour laws, restrictions and regulations in those countries, that protect workers and provide them with a true living wage. Other "badmen" are bankers who play risky games with people's money and then end up getting bailed out to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. Third, are the financial service providers to the wealthy, who design and sell "products" that their clients use to avoid paying any fair rate of tax on their "earnings" from the increased profits from the corporations whose stocks they purchase. Those corporate profits having been made from exploiting workers and reducing the price they pay for quality materials to make products, which takes advantage of the customer; not to mention the planned obsolescence they build in to their marketplace items. The video should have featured European American men in suits making these tawdry, incredibly destructive and poverty-inducing decisions and then showing the results (evictions of families, homelessness, underfunded public schools in urban areas, just to name a few) of their actions. But, I guess, easier to just look at men of African descent and say "Badman".
You are right on target with your explanation, and I completely agree with everything you stated. It's also important to remember that Bang wrote this song upon watching the news. As far as American media (as well as other international media outlets), the major criminals you described usually receive a pass in the "badman" department. Instead, the focus (and much blame) is placed upon "less important" men, or men of a lesser stature in the eyes of many who have the power to refute this description (media). Bang really did try, but he probably has not done extensive research on the complex criminal, societal, etc., historical and current issues of our American nation. The more he learns, the more enlightened he will become. He's still quite young yet, and with more time comes more knowledge. He seems quite interested in American and for that matter, black American, society. He's very intelligent, and I'm sure we haven't seen or heard the last of his views on worldly subjects. Great post, though.
Hi K-PAI DMT and chassity king When I first responded to K-PAI DMT I meant to include this link to a review I came across from last August, for the Badman MV. The article, and many of the comments, are very intelligent and make you think. One comment I truly appreciated, included in their statement that, "These topics are far too complex to be properly addressed in a kpop video and B.A.P are not at all equipped to even approach these issues." That being stated, I still like B.A.P, and I can appreciate everything they bring to the table, as they don't do so lightly. Here is the link, if you are interested. seoulbeats.com/2013/08/b-a-ps-ineffective-badman-mv/
Thank you SO much for the link! I really want to find this MIYOKO fangirl and give her a big hug! ^_^ BTW, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like BAP! I was just disappointed with how this MV illustrated the lyrics.
K-PAI DMT I feel exactly the same way you do, my friend...on all points! Don't worry, though. It's like I said before. Bang is still quite young and extremely underexposed to world thus far, but he has an incredible thirst for knowledge, so he'll only continue to get better, as well as the rest of B.A.P.
***** Hi fellow Texan! I don't recall hearing anything about that taking place in Detroit, but I do try to stay away from mainstream media, since that's how they always seem to want to portray Detroit, and other cities that are suffering similar fates. There have always been a lot of news articles all over the internet about the positive things many Detroit citizens have been doing to build up their city. If only these stories got major news exposure, then maybe more people with the means to do so, would be more inclined to assist these good people. Michael Moore and a handful of other people usually help out, but that's just a handful of people. B.A.P may have seen this on the news while they were there. The area they filmed in was a safe area. It was also an older section, that was somewhat abandoned, and as well as being quieter. The area their hotel was located in was a very nice area, away from the "urban squalor". All-in-all, I don't think B.A.P were exposed, except possibly through the television, to any of the actual violence that is plaguing certain sections of Detroit. Although, Detroit's poverty affects the majority of the city. As for the rap songs that are being written today, there are many songs for our listening ears that convey positive messages and whatnot. Again, however, you won't find these getting major air play. Only a select handful of rappers get major air play today, and none of them have anything to do with the majority of rap that is currently out all over this country. Also, with major record labels, many rappers are told to change their songs to fit a particular image before it is allowed on the album, to begin with. I remember when Lupe Fiasco's record label didn't want to release his album and a few hundred of his fans actually held a peaceful protest in front of his record label. People want intelligent music. Again, you'll have to search for it yourself, but there's plenty of it all over the internet. Again, the record companies, along with the good old media, have a certain pre-requisite that they want met for their American rappers. Until more people, like Lupe Fiasco's fans, begin demanding the type of rap they truly want, sub-par rap without a message will continue to get major media occupation. Don't write off an entire genre of music just because of a handful of rappers who are constantly shoved down our throats. They don't speak for the majority of rappers out there who are just waiting for you to find them. Bang Yong Guk has found plenty of them, and they are some of his inspirations, and not just music-wise, but because of the messages they are spreading.
Pretty Zelo with his long pink/red hair..B.A.P have that 360 degree camera too (i think before EXO make 360 degree camera become popular)..and i don't like their MV..so scary and many dark elements in there (detroit thing?), but I totally in love with this song..
In that music video, it's very unclear who are the badmen. Who are the victims, who are the criminals? Are the black people in that video the badmen? The stereotypes are pretty unsavoury; I love BAP and I love the song, however...perhaps they are too young and inexperienced in the ways of the world to deal with such complex issues as race, class warfare, poverty and crime in the United States? What about police brutality? What about black Lives Matter? The boys not mingling in the action makes the band's stance all look rather patronising; it's too simplistic to write a song urging "criminals" to stop their behaviour. Half a black face for Yongguk and Bantu knots for Zelo don't help. It would have been more interesting to have BAP film about their own society's badmen, poverty and criminals in Korea. A missed opportunity, unfortunately.
OMO.. please stop uploading these videos.. as much as i would like to thank you for uploading these, but tsent will not make money because of this and bap too.. they'll be put on more hard work and we are not helping our bap boys.. please..
Himchan: *Sees that eldest son was hurt by his father* *punches the other side of his face to make it symmetrical*
Me: *applauds at good parenting*
Zelo has habit to blink his eyes two times >< it is sooo cute
watching zelo says everything about his dreams makes me feel sad, i hope his dreams will not just stop there.. BAP fighting!!!
Imagine waking up in that hotel and going for breakfast half asleep and you bump into grim reaper yongguk

I remember when last year they announced their comeback for badman being filmed on Detroit. I was so scared for their lives lol Seeing this video made me even more scared, but in the end it turned out great and they came back in one piece lol
can I ask why were you scared?
Danaii White well Detroit does not hold the title of the safest city. And also those old buildings looked run down and anything could happen. But i loved that they chose to do this. It cane out well right? Haha
I totally agree I was probably more worried about the building collapsing than anything

When himchan said "I like Americano" he seemed unsure xD!!!
Look at them, at McNamara, literally 20 minutes from my house...and no fans or anything. No one knew who they were. I didn't know kpop existed. So many regrets right now...

I wish I could speak to them in Korean and tell them how much I appreciate their music and the lengths they go to make us happy:)
No offense, but you don't speak in Hangul.
Adia Ferguson Thanks for the correction!

Se ve raro el señor con ese significado. De.la mano
What did the stylist to Zelo baby's hair? I mean the red thing on his head, when they headed to the next location!
What happened in Detroit?
Why is it all bashed in to pieces and abandoned?
Was there a riot?
`16:35 anybody know the name of the music? Please :D
Is Zelo really just feeding Youngguk his food?
