I’ve had the Alt-Hectare for about 2 months. It’s great. The AR-SFII is like a SF BG-42. Nice steel with Vanadium. Good stuff to have in the cake mix. Money.
I was shocked to find out that they ship out of Missouri city, lol. Ordered a pyrite and it showed up in A day and a half , lol. I live in South Texas, btw
And $99 isn’t terrible for the Prado. New steel, new pricing, but still under $100. Ok 👍🏻 I wonder if this is the steel they developed consulting with Knife Steel Nerd, after the ARRPM9 thing? Or if that is still coming? 🤔
A lot of steels really need to be sharpened to get past any steel that got hot during factory belt sharpening. Even some of the best s90v from spyderco has an extreme difference from the factory edge to the first sharpening, although s90v also seems to just be overall one of the most susceptible to the edge getting hot. Every knife I've had so far had a noticable difference in edge retention after being sharpened including arrpm9 so I'd assume the same will be true for this steel. I was really disappointed when I got my civivi vision fg and it lost the edge in like 10 days, after sharpening it's a completely different animal. It was such a big difference I think the edge had to be a bit more "burnt" than most other knives I've owned.
Thanks for the Vid - CJRB says AR-SFII Steel has better Edge retention over AR-RPM9 & I say HECK YEA 🦾- I was fine with the AR-RPM9 but how can we complain if now with the AR-SFII we get better edge retention 👊
I love my button lock Prado. I mean Laconico...! They are limited and numbered. I have 351/500. Thanks for the review. I hope this steel holds up like I think it will.
This new steel looks similar to BG42 in composition. I am guessing its edge retention will be above 154cm but under S35vn. I noticed these new models with this steel are like $80-100 which is quite a price increase.
Is it really a new composition 9r did they more accurately name their steel. Wasnt it found to not really be powdered metalurgy or some crap? I dont know im not a doctor
It helps to apply a bit of "torque" (for lack of a better word) with your thumb and index finger. It allows you to flick harder with the middle finger. If you're trying to reverse flick a frame lock, you have to make sure you're not putting pressure on the lock bar. I learned how to do it by practicing with a Spyderco PM 2

TOGETHER...RIGHT NOW🎵🎵🎵🎵
Rip Smkw catalogs. The winter one was the last one they will make😢
Well that sucks. I was wondering why they gave me three of them.
Damnit that's my cut test paper lol
Good riddance. Any catalog that doesn’t publish blade length is only 50% useful
@ hahaha true

The hector always had a crossbar lock
A new steel is born!
Open CAD -> Flip Flop Lock -> 2 New Knives -> Profit
If the formula works LOL
That Prado may have to replace my Bowie Pyrite, it is slick looking, and that handle looks a bit better for my xl mitts. Thanks Kole!

I got the hectare but was pretty disappointed with the edge retention. Still love the knife so I’m incredibly excited for this.

It's a button lock Good times, just got a fickstop Chaves BNIB for $250 - ty Blade Binge
Shame they didn’t send you the Bowie with milled micarta. Feel like that’d be your favorite
The Prado is almost perfect. Just make the micarta color a little lighter and it would look like the knife I’ve been dreaming about

I wish the Hectare had a 3-inch blade... for travel reasons.
Hectar shall henceforth be referred to as the funky pyrite. 🎉
I think you need to be nicer to this future you guy. You seem to order him around a lot.
To be fair, he does most of the work (I'm future me btw)
@TristateEDC wait...what!?!
@@RandyFasnacht hi, it's me...from the future.
@@TristateEDC Can you tell me if the Bengals make the playoffs?
So far so good with my SF-II Bowie Pyrite, but I'll wait until a guy on RUclips tells me how to feel about it before deciding if I like it.
😉

You are correct.
For the algorithm overlords
spray formed 154....rpm9 was basically spray formed 9cr....test her out lil buddy
AR-SF 2? What steel is comparable to that?
BG42 which is similar to 154cm-CPM 154. The only thing is that these models are running $89-99, so better edge retention but a bit higher price.
Hmm i wonder how many youtubers will say how great this new budget steel is without even using it?? 😅
Psyduck is underrated
Total noob ?, what is trick to reverse flick, I too have lil baby boy hands 🙌🏼

@@MrDudestein thanks Mr.
Leverage + everything he said.
dude you can't buy the rights to everything but the "unboxing" shot and stop dinging blade edges on the spine of other knives, it gives me the ick
What? lol
@@TristateEDC haha (kinda) jk about the second part but the "unboxing" title shot has the watermark still
