    The art in this book is some of my favorite comic art of all time. It has such a classic style I’m surprised it isn’t held in higher regard. It’s pretty amazing.

    Great review as always! I agree that characters are more interesting if they have a great supporting cast. That is one reason why I enjoy reading Spider-Man's SA stories. Stan Lee and Ditko/Romita introduced and developed a strong supporting cast and roster of villains for Spidey. That is also why the Fantastic Four and X-Men appeal to me. The focus is not just on one character but it shifts and that makes it more interesting in my opinion.

      Yeah I definitely agree that's a big part of what made Spidey so good right from the start!

    Nice review as always. I probably won't pick up this one or #1, but I'm considering getting #3 as I always hear good things about the Englehart run. Looking forward to your review of it 👌🏻

      Yeah I'd say Vol 3 is the best of these three volumes overall, Englehart's run is a good read

    did they tell the behind the scenes story why they switched from rick jones to the falcon? in the forward or something?

    • @TheComicBookTrove
      @TheComicBookTrove  Год назад +2

      Not much of a story as such, but in an intro Gene Colan writes about how he approached Stan with the idea of introducing a new African-American character to work alongside Cap and how the idea took off

    Where in volume one does it start to get away from the childish repetitive tone? I se volume two has more consistent stories.

      @@sergioacosta9712 towards the end of volume 1 there's an arc by Jim Steranko that was the first point for me when the stories started to really evolve into something more interesting
