Just about every single one of my Hispanic friends will notify me of "racism" and once I explain it to them they laugh and say that I am right that it's not racist at all. I also point out that there is a backlash to being called racist for holding an idea and that backlash creates racist feelings in people otherwise not racist. So the more liberally they call ideas and policy racist the more fuel they throw on the real racism. My Hispanic friends get it. Now, when I talk to my white friends... This was a bit of a shock to hear a man, of his age, and reputed Conservatism, saying some of the things he did.

the whole point of kennedy's sending volunteers there was to force the communist north to agree to STOP ATTACKING THE SOUTH and STAY in the north.
in spite of LBJ's fucking up by drafting kids to send over there- so against huge opposition from draft age students , nixon finally managed to get a peace agreement from the north, allowing troops to withdraw from vietnam.
however the north got resupplied by the soviet union and broke it's agreement right after nixon was forced from office then democrat congress cut off military supplies to the beleagured south.
