    This was my first handgun, got the one with the night sights. Feels really good, compared to my friends Glock. And the beveled edges helps it conceal much better and feels nicer when pressed up against you in my opinion. Really happy with it

    The only reason this gun is such a bargain is becuase Mossberg has done a terrible job marketing it. There is nothing cheap, substandard, or budget about the MC pistols. I would argue theyre as good as any Glock, SW, or Sig in the same class. In some ways theyre better than their competitors. I have one and its my EDC while my Shield Plus collects dust.
    Get one, you wont regret it.

    I’ve bought one a few months ago, and I love it! The way it fits in my hand. The way it shoots! It’s very accurate. I paid $318 for it in New Orleans area sporting goods store.

    In 1919 Mossbreg released The Brownie 22 was a four-shot .22LR pocket pistol designed for trappers to finish off trapped animals. This 4.5-inch gun weighed 10 ounces and retailed for just $5.

    I have an MC1 which I bought before the election run pushed prices up. I love it enough to carry it. Can't find an MC2 but when I do find one, it will be mine. have a few other guns as well, but I am happy that an ordinary guy like myself came to the same conclusions that an expert like you did. Best wishes, sir! Your reviews are a delight to watch.

    It to me feels like a 1911 and the reset is audible and tactical. No issues in mine and I shot it against four of my other guns and it blew them away.

    I bought one yesterday. Very nice! Two issues on initial inspection. One, I prefer more fencing around a firmer mag release button ala the FN FNS 9c which many say is too firm, but you don't want to bump it while carried and drop the mag. Two, extractor tension was very high causing lock up hesitation when test releasing slide on mag-fed brass-rimmed dummy round about 3/4" from lock up. Minor hesitation when sliding into battery can be okay, but this was too much in my opinion. Note: I am not jumping the extractor claw over the rim of a chambered round, I am just riding the slide to check for feeding hesitation. I removed the extractor, lightly honed the extractor claw outer edge and lightly radiused its lower corner and clipped 3/4 of a coil from the extractor spring and now will go into battery with significantly less hesitation now when slide held and released 3/8" from battery on dummy round. Before, the extractor tension was super firm and hard to move in situ with bare finger, but now medium firm tension which can now be moved with a firm bare finger. Extractor claw still has a very firm grip on rim of a test round on a bare slide. The gun shop's display model MC2c had significant creep at the wall, but the packaged example I bought was much better. I lightly polished the pyramid on the trigger bar that impinges on the striker safety plunger without removing any height and the trigger is quite good. Chopstick test: chopstick launched vertically an excellent 3 feet. Ready for range testing now. Tips on disassembly. With slide locked back and muzzle end firmly on a mouse pad to prevent slippage, slightly push up on rear plate while simultaneously depressing the plate button with your finger tip and then slide the plate down. There is not enough spring pressure to make the striker jump out of the striker tunnel (some 1911's can launch a firing pin doing this). Remove striker assembly before removing the slide. On reassembly, use the tip of the plate part way inserted to hold the yellow plastic striker guide down and then slip the plate up in place with a click. No tools needed. Tools could damage the delicate striker guide. The striker guide doesn't move when firing nor get much stress when firing. However, it could get damaged if you crunch it with a screw driver.

      @@BullShooterswithJeffJohnston Thanks, it comes from OCD and back when one had to tune every new Colt 1911. I came up with an easy fix for the too exposed mag release button. The rear edge of the button is too proud of the grip and could release the mag if bumped while carrying or firing. Most other pistols models either have the rear of the button more flush or have a frame bump or fencing to prevent this. I degreased the area on the grip behind the button with rubbing alcohol and applied a self adhesive rubber pad (about 2.5mm thick). This gives me more confidence that I won't bump release a mag at the wrong time 5:44 Ha ha ha! 3mm would be even better. Once I find the optimal material and thickness I will superglue it more permanently in place. Fairly easy fix. I think filing down the rear edge of the mag release button would be too drastic, look terrible, remove the finish and texture, and would be irreversible. Tip: when clipping spring coils, do it in small steps so you don't clip too much at one time. Clipping 1/2 of a coil was not quite enough so I ended up clipping 3/4 of a coil total. My extractor spring must have been a bit long from the factory, and hopefully others won't have this problem. It's a good idea to test bare slide extractor tension on any new pistol. Another tip: clip the coil with the cutter and coil in a clear plastic bag, to prevent the two pieces fron flying off the table and use eye protection. Then hone flat the cut edge burr.

    Hows the recoil impuse compared to the g19 and p365? Inbetween?

    • @BullShooterswithJeffJohnston
      @BullShooterswithJeffJohnston 3 года назад +4

      Yes in between. Nothing tames recoil like gun mass weight. But because the Glock's grip is slippery and the mossberg fits my hand so well, perceived recoil seems like it's closer to the glock than to the 365 to my hand. I'm not knocking the glock. If I had to choose one to fight with it would be the 19, but we are talking edc here. And in that case it would be the 17, not the 19 for straight up fighting, not carrying, for the same reasons.
