I feel like this specific artwork 2:22 really nailed the spooky "being watched/giving someone a false sense of security" vibe that The Core plays with. I also like how Marcy's in her Amphibian purple dress, because it happens to fit an AU I made up a while ago (partially thanks to the official character playlist including prom dress as a Marcy song) where Darcy's mental influence didn't really leave her, and she ended up having a breakdown on prom night (set after she moved away), that she couldn't really recover from quickly since her friends were not with her (and as we know, she struggles with making connections to other people)
You know, when I saw the trailer for season 3, in which Yunnan and Olivia rescued Marcy, only to be engulfed by that light, I had theorized that maybe Darcy pretended to have been defeated, then pretended that Marcy got back control of her body with the objective of being taken to either Sasha or Anne in order to practice psychological warfare in them, and the light was them actually using the Box, being teleported to Earth, where they were apprehended by the FBI and the Agent X. The Core's goal would be to use the government's own fear and paranoia in order to arrest Anne and probably dissect her, besides creating a cult inside of the FBI (formed by the most fanatic and derranged of the agents) to create inside chaos.
